    Soooooooooo Tired!

Today, 30/10, was my first day back at work (high school teacher). I had my op exactly a week ago. I've lost 11 pounds so far, but am not actively dieting, just 'healing'. Still got quite a bit of gas pain in my left shoulder and the port is quite sore today. But I am DEAD tired! I knew I'd be tired, but this is something else! I feel like I have lead in my shoes, dragging myself from one class to the next and I cant wait for the end of the day (16:45). Climbing the stairs to my office (on the 4th floor) is killing me! Please tell me this will get better soon...?

    Single In Turkey...

I'm not Turkish, but I live and work in Turkey. And yes, I'm single. Social life here...? NON-EXISTENT! The culture simply don't allow it here, so, to all you single ladies enjoying a social life and even... (gasp!)... dating! Enjoy! ENJOY!

    Keeping It A Secret

I actually told my boss today, and he was ok with it, quite supportive, in fact. So glad I don't have to lie about it to him anymore - I still hate lying to other people if they ask 'uncomfortable' questions though...! "What operation did you have done...?" "Did they have to remove something...?" "Were you away on holiday...?" "Why don't you want any biscuits/cake/soda/whatever...? "You're not having any coffee!? Are you sick...?" "Why don't you come to the gym anymore...?" One by one, I'll start telling the people closest to me, if I feel comfortable about it. But that's still a BIG "if"....

    Soooooooooo Tired!

Thanks so much guys! I'm so glad I belong to this forum, seeing that I've opted to keep my banding a secret, I've no-one else to talk to, and here I have a wonderful group of friends that understand where I'm coming from and what I'm going through - hugs to you all! I really do feel much better today, and I've lost another kilo, so I'm smiling all the way!

  9. Hi all, I was banded six days ago and everything has been, and still is, plain sailing for me. I live and work in Turkey and had my banding done in Izmir, through a company called 'Revitalize'. The surgeon was Dr. Cenk Tokat. I have only praise for the company and the doc, even though he speaks very, very little English. I was wondering if anybody else had their procedure done here in Turkey, by the same doc as well, and what was your experiences? Happy healing - and losing! - to everyone!

    Keeping It A Secret

People are generally judgemental of overweight people, and then, when they try to do something about it, they are judged for the method they choose... I've also decided to keep it a secret, and shared it only with three people. But, I must be honest, the lies are KILLING me! I try to avoid the subject altogether so as to not to have to explain anything. I supposedly went for a 'prolapsed uterus', which explains the laparoscopic insicions and absence from work. Of course I'm on a diet for my weight; my diet is simply based on 'portion control'; I'll be hitting the gym soon, and then I'll have more reason for the weight melting away.... and that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! :-)

Keda, I just take tiny, tiny little sips of whatever I drink. Remind yourself constantly that your stomach is the size of a newborn baby's now, so take it slow.... :-)

    Day 4 Post Surgery

I was banded on 23/10, and the gas is really bad here too. What helps a little, I've found, is to balance on my feet, standing up of course, and to 'bounce' lightly on the balls of my feet, it does seem to bring a small measure of relief, helping to dislodge the air 'bubbles'...

Banded on 23/10. Four days after op and feeling great! Some discomforts, but to be expected. Can't wait to get back in the gym!
  19. Could it be hormonal? When I feel down, I try to list all the good things in my life, and try to sleep as much as possible. Tomorrow you'll feel better, I'm sure! :-)

I Don't Know What Is Worse..

I feel the same! Three days since banding, 2nd day the worst. It gets better though; just listen to your body and rest and relax plenty!
