  1. Hi came across this idea which I will be giving a go, as I am very bad at getting my Water in,

If you place 8 or more coloured rubber bands on wrists, and take off after drinking a cup of water,

It helps stay hydrated, Do you have any more ideas any one ?

  2. Hi in the UK they inform you to carry a card around with type of band also the amount it is fill, just in case you need to have operation of any kind, or indeed have any problems and need to go to AE. I think everyone has the right to know what is going in their body.he has no right to withhold this information.

  3. I am having another fill, at present I have a 7 ml, weight was doing great 2lb a week, now I have slowed up, but do sometimes i make bad food choices, whilst i am out, i have had a few slimming moments, but nothing to bad, I have learnt to eat every 4 hrs and try not to leave any longer, other wise I shove it in and then I am in big trouble. But I suppose I am scared I will never get to my soft spot, my band is only a 10 mil, I just would like to get to my goal weight and reach my soft spot. and just to maintain it without to many more fills, any advise guys

  4. Hi guys i am not doing to bad, was banded 1st oct 2012, lost 2stone 2lbs, but have come to a Plato, my fill is 7 mls in a 10 ml band, don't want much more, as going 4 hrs before hungry, coffee fills me right up, not sure how, but hey I take it, as I don't want to over eat, trying hard to eat healthy, but feel I may be eating to much fat, can any one, advise me what quantities I should be having per day, thank you in advance.

  5. I was banded on October 15' date=' and have lost "only" 15 pounds since surgery, 41 in total. I've been really down about losing about a pound a week but my doctors have told me I'm doing great. I knew going in the lapbanders lose way more slowly than gastric bypass but emotionally it is still hard.

I have been on a sabbatical from my teaching job and return on January 29. I had hoped to have a super noticeable difference by the time I went back, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards,

I've had three fills. The first one I felt great restriction for about a week, then almost nothing. The second one was the most successful so far as I lost nine pounds in five weeks. I just had my third, so I am up to 6.3 ccs in a 10 cc band. I'm still on mushies and it seems to be working well.

I am curious about how many calories a day people are averaging?[/quote']

Hiya it is hard but you are doing great 41lbs, is a lot well done don't give up 1lb a week is fantastic !,

  6. Hiya it is a worry the unexpected, but I can assure you, it will be fine, I laid down my port is quite out their, the clean area, withdraw to see how much is in band, also checking no leeks extra, then they refill, it done in seconds, then a wipe, I have a hot then cold drink I. Waiting area, if no probs I leave, sometimes I have a little bruse, painless just a little scatch, don't worry you will be fine x

  7. Thank you guys for taking the time to reply, can not find were to fill in profile but I was banded 1st Oct surgery I was filled with 4mls now 2nd fill 6.5mls on Thursday in London, I was 13stone1lb at start, I am now 11stone 4lbs still got 2stone to go, I am 54yrs and 5ft, I just wanted to add that I only had two three small amounts of fruit yogurt, and even less of haddock scrambled egg, but I think you are right about eggs, and my band has always been tight am, but I am so afraid now of what I can eat, it's hard this learning curb, still feel full, but I want to make good choices....so again I do appreciate all comments....

  8. Had a fill today in London, spoke to dietition, not seen my surgeon since the day I was banded 1st Oct. I now have fill 6.5mls in a 10ml band, I thought I was doing good but, apparently not, started at 13.stone now 11stone 4lbs, tried to make good food choices, I have been afraid to eat bread Pasta rice, my dietion says I must, I always thought they were the evil one, so avoid them, also no Salad Dressing this helps food slip, and to stop my whey protien drink, I felt so down hearted, as I thought I was doing so well, pain in port fed up gone to bed.....

  11. I now want my band out - and The Hospital Group charge £5' date='000 for removal. I don't know if there is a cheaper option in the UK - does anyone know?

Obesity solutions - they are connected with a hospital in Belgium with Dr Marc Focquet - say on their website that a removal is only 1500 euros (1200 pound). But I am wondering if the price is historic, or only available to people who were initially banded by them.

Has anyone had any experience of Obesity Solutions/Marc Focquet/ Belgium Surgery Services? I am going to their Manchester clinic on Thurday for an unfill (£90 instead of the £125 that The Hospital Group charge) - and want to ask about the options for removal of the band entirely...[/quote']

Hi why are you having it removed? I hope it goes well what ever you decide, I had mine done with this group.....
