I did my first triathalon (sprint 400m swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run)Sunday. So proud of my self it would have been easy to talk myself out of doing this in the past. Too Cold 52 degrees and wind gust 20mph +, lake temperature 65degrees. I did not talk myself out of it, completed it non stop and finished 4th in my age class 64th overall. Finished in 1:32 need to work on my run and transitions but overall very pleased with these results. More to come...

Me and my wife just returned from a 7 day cruise and had a great time. Was totally excited when we both weighed in when got home yesterday to find out we only gained 1 pound each. Ate very well on the boat and did plenty of drinking and had dessert at dinner every night. hopefully the photos will attach to this. It felt great to just get away and have a good time. First time since surgery i have gone more than 1 day without scale.< /p>

It was hard at first but I've learned to eat gumbos and Beans with out rice and when I need something sweet I grab a yogurt or Protein bar. I can't even imagine this accomplishment. This summer, I plan on completing an indoor, modified, Tammie version of a triathlon. Elliptical, instead of running, stationary bike, instead of on the road, and swimming laps in the pool! Not a real triathlon, but one nonetheless !!!! Congrats on YOUR achievement, and here's to many more!

My wife and I also paid cash and were originally going to use Dr. Borland. We had a great experience with Dr. Borland and his staff, but in the end, opted to use Dr. Lavin in Mandeville, due to the logistics involved (We live in Slidell and were able to use Southern Surgical Center in Slidell...too convenient w/school age children.).
I'm 8 months post op, 101 lbs. down (hit my goal two weeks ago!) and my wife is 6 months out, 70 lbs. down (she hit her goal 3 weeks ago...then decided she wanted to lose more...women! LOL).
We were talking last night about getting crawfish next weekend...now we can boil enough for the two of us in a small stock pot on the stove!
    Good luck!
