I was banded in October. I was so hungry all the time and my willpower was shot. But I had a fill 2 weeks ago, and I finally feel like I'm in the green zone! Hang in there!!

I ate a hard boiled egg about an hour ago...I think everything went down ok??
and then about 30 minutes ago I started having chest pains (on the left side). I've tried Pb'ing, I threw up a little but now nothing else is coming up. I'm not sure I'm stuck. I can drink Water and it seems to be going down OK.
Any suggestions what to do??

Exact same for me...althought I have had no restriction what so ever yet. LOst nothing since Feb 1st...maybe even gained a lb. I do well but it is getting harder and harder. Youre not alone...I go on tues so hoping this one will do something for me ...fingers crossed!Did you end up getting a fill? I went today and they gave me .5cc.

Thanks. ..I know I could definitely get better at counting calories although I'm really trying to make sure im getting my Protein in.
I think I'm just getting so frustrated because I'm getting hungry 2 hours after my last meal. That wasnt the case for my first couple if months after surgery.

I was banded in October...and i was losing weight steady until January.
Then I started feeling less restriction.
I went to clinic in february and they only put .3cc in my band. Since then I've hardly lost any weight and I feel I can eat anything I want as fast as I want. I never PB. Nothing ever feels stuck. Im worried. ..have I screwed this up?? I'm finding it hard to eat slowly and small bites when I have no restriction!

I just had my 2 weeks post op appt and my nurse said that is completely normal to not lose weight until you have been on solids for a few weeks. I've only lost 7 pounds post op and she thought that was great. I think we (me included) all just need to be patient, it took us many years to put it on, and it will probably take many years to take it off. It's a journey that we will be on for the rest of our lives, and enjoy the ride. Better to be going down, then up!

My clinic also says the latest research shows that you can drink with your meal...but you have to wait at least one minute after each bite. But please check with your own clinic.

I'm going away this weekend, Friday morning till Sunday night, and I just started looking at my soft foods list, and most of them need to be refridgerated. I may/may not have access to a fridge, and can probably bring my kettle. I will be in a major city, so I will have access to restaurants, although not sure what I can even order. Any suggestions?

Ask your doctor. I was able to swallow mine 3 days post op no problem.

Well I guess I'll find out LOL. I don't think it will hurt it, just may not be exactly the same!

I don't start mushies till wednesday, but I made them all today, and froze them in 2oz (ice cube trays) as per the advise of my clinic.Hey all,
Ive been on mushies but have been eating Soup bc of the convenience. Soup has a lot of sodium so I'm afraid of gaining bc of it. What are you guys eating in the mushy phase? Need help!!
I blended raspberries & cottage cheese, chicken & broth, salmon & broth, tuna & broth & a little mayo, eggs & broth & a little mayo, bananas, plus a bunch of different veges.

Hey Jess,Hey everyone! I was banded on Halloween and i feel great! I have lost 4.4 since my surgery on full liquid and not feeling too hungry yet. I lost 12.4 on my liquid pre-op diet and was starving by day 10. My total weight loss since the beginning is 25.8 and I'm super satisfied with that. I look forward to keeping up with everyone
You & I have similar stats. I was also banded on Halloween. Started at 250lbs, lost 15 in pre-op diet, and have lost 4lbs so far in post-op. I've probably only been eating about 500-600 calories a day. Though I'm really happy with my results to date.

I just spent the entire morning making my mushies! I get to start them Wednesday so I made an entire weeks worth of food (I think) and froze it all in ice cube trays. Raspberries & cottage cheese/chicken/salmon/tuna salad/egg salad/beans/peas/brussel sprouts/cauliflower...yummmm I'm getting excited!

I feel completely nauseous every day, and I think this is the cause of it. I'm going out tonight to see if I can find the MOM.
-
So I haven't gone to the bathroom in 7 days...3 pre-op and 4 post-op...should I be worried?
I've taken laxative for the last 3 days, but nothing is happening. I'm starting to get worried.
Even when I was on liquid pre-op diet, I was going every 2-3 days.

I am on full liquids from day 3-7, then I can have mushies day 8.
I believe mushies is anything you can mush up...but you want to try and find high Protein meals

I tried to call my doctor and just got told by the answering service that this wasn't an emergency. so I don't know what else to do...other than go to the ER where there will be tons of sick people!Get a prescription from your doctor for zofran or something else that will prohibit vomiting. I keep a bottle in my purse just in case. I have four kids too, and someone is always sick with vomiting at some point throughout the winter. I was told that if you do start vomiting and can't keep things down, to see your doc right away for an unfill. However, if you have an anti-vomiting med on hand, that might not be necessary. Good luck! Hope the bug passes quickly and everyone is feeling better soon!
-
Help! Does anyone know what I should do?? Both my kids had it in the last couple of days, and now my DH. I'm petrified I'm going to get it. The vomiting is nasty!
-
Pain Meds don't give me much relief...I can't sit up by myself still...the pain in my stomache is almost unbearable...today is day four. Yesterday I had a Popsicle and I enjoyed it, however after eating it, I had intense pain for about fifteen mins after making it hard to breathe. Still waiting for the uncomfortable pain to subside.
Oh that doesn't sound good. I've had 2 C-sections prior to this, and I would consider this a breeze compared to then!
-
I was banded yesterday too! They had me on ice chips all yesterday, today and the next week I'm on clear liquids. I haven't had to much pain so I'm greatful for that! My incision is only slightly sore but I only had one incision!
Weird how every doctor is so different. I was told Water only, no ice chips. I can't believe you only have one incision - how lucky are you!

I am verry sore and get sharp pains in port
Ok good this is normal then. I just took another does of codeine to see if it helps. I didn't feel much relief from it last night though.

I agree that the green zone can sneak up on you I thought I was still so far away. I felt like I had barely any restriction...then my last fill (went from 4.3cc to 4.8cc) did the trick. All of a sudden I am forced to eat tiny bites, and I feel full really quickly! Be patient it could happen anytime!
