Why would your surgeon be appointed? You have the right to have who you want to do the surgery. There is no way an insurance company could appoint a surgeon for a surgery like this for me.Well maybe I pick the wrong word "appointed" but the true results that I go to they only have two surgeons and when they started with my paper work for my 6 month nutrition visits his name was in the surgeon box and that he would perform it in April. I had already read upon him&the other one & I did want him verses the other one,I felt by what I had read he had a lil more experience to me and wanted to know if someone new more than I did.

Welcome!I was banded 9 1/2 months ago and have lost 158 pounds so far. It's a lot of work' date=' and I had to make lifestyle changes, but I absolutely love my band. I truly believe it saved my life. It's the best decision I've ever made for myself.[/quote']
Wow 158 pounds that is awesome are you at your goal weight yet?

After surgery I was really sore. And I can tell I had gas stuck just like everyone said. I only had to do 5 days of pre-op. It was really hard for me the first 3days. Then after that I wasn't hungry. And my boyfriend did it with me even though he wasn't having any kind of surgery. So that helped ...plus I got scared that if I didn't do it right something might go wrong. Hope it will be easy for you. But we are all here for you!!!
Wow just 5 days.....Awww that was so sweet of him to do that. I believe that would be the same thought in my head...that something would go wrong.Thank you sooo much.

Good for you! Sept 6 was my surgery date. Down 39 lbs' date=' not everyone is the same, so weight loss is different. Honestly I wish I had done this 10 years ago. Learning that a little goes a long way. Eyes still think I need a full plate. Stomach just needs a few bites. Learn to listen to your body. Drink, drink then drink some more.[/quote']What did you have to go thru before getting banded? How did you get through the hard times? And how many cc you have in your band?

I'm still in the beginning stages and have just submitted my paperwork to the surgeon I am waiting to hear back to know if I am approved with my insurance or if I need to do a six-month diet good luck to you!! If so i may have mine in April too woot woot!!!Well alot of insurances approve people I have faith that you will be approved. What insurance do you have? If you don't mind me asking,as for me I have uhc choice plus right now&my job is in the middle of switching medical plans so the premiums can be cheaper, but it's still with uhc, they said it is still like the one I already have????I really hope so,cause I would be devastated if I couldn't get banded.ugh.

How does it feel after surgery&did you have to do the 2 wks. of liquids and if so how&what helped you to get through it.Because I know me If food wasn't a obstacle then we all wouldn't need this surgery....But I know I need&want it sooo bad.
