  1. I am 18 and here in New Zealand that's the legal drinking age. Since alcohol is heavily in our Barbecue/backyard/laid back life style I know it's going to be IMPOSSIBLE to cut Alcohol out completely.

I plan on counting every alcoholic calorie and allowing for it once a week or so (and of course nothing carbonated.)

I know it's not ideal but its what works for me!

  2. Lannah I am 100% on your side!! My issue is that their is 3-4 people on here that INSIST On posting in every thread!

Those 3-4 people think the sun shines out their arse and its their way or the highway!

I don't think they know they do it, or maybe it's just a strong American personality that I'm not used to.

And before they say anything, I have the toughest skin out and nothing anyone says hurts me BUT why can't this be a place for normal people that are struggling to come together?

( I have been private messages a previous time when I brought this up. I was told to be careful as the 'BANDED b*****s' will privately abuse you if you bring it up. One lady had to shut down her account)

  3. My intentions weren't meant to attack anyone, I just notice particular people that are all over everyone in these threads.

It's great the have this forum! I go here everyday to get answers to my questions, it's just a shame when a few GRILL others. **** we aren't perfect!

I'm 18 years old and have only told 3 family members because, lets face it, teenagers are hardly open minded! That's why this forum is so helpful :)

I just want everyone to be happy and loosing!!

  4. Chez is quite often on here being rude. She and a couple of others feel the need to comment on almost every thread... It's getting too much to handle!

Everyone needs to remember that we are all different, we were/are all fat for a reason but we are ALL working through it. Getting the Band is a huge lifestyle change and coming on here and reading 3 or 4 people's repetitive statements about how amazing they are is not helping!

No one person is better than the other, you are not our doctors or councilors so PLEASE relax on here and concentrate on how well you have done, without forcing it down other people's throats.

P.S I LOVE MY BAND and I am so proud of what I have done so far!

  5. Hi Guys!

My surgery is also on Nov 15th so I am 5 days into my Pre-Op Diet!

I am doing a High Protein, Low Carb, Low Calorie diet for 2xweeks. This is typically:

    Optifast shake for Breakfast

chicken broth with broccoli and spinach lunch

Green Veg and 1x small lean piece of meat (prawns/chicken/tuna)

I can have broth, tea, zero calorie Fluid and green veg to fill any hunger gaps!

I think the most important hung is to get in your Water, this flushes out the liver nicely.

So far I have lost just over 4kg (I think that's 8.8 pounds) and it got easy to follow after day 2.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

    Ash

  6. Hiya- My surgery date is November 15th and i have been on the Pre Op diet for 4 days now. I HAVE LOST 4KG ALREADY (Which is something like 8 pounds). My diet is:

    1x Optifast shake

broth, Green Veg only, Tea with no sugar or milk and ONE small piece of lean Protein with dinner.

And of course lots and lots of water!

Im feeling really positive for once! The first day was definitely the hardest so far, but then i found out that i could snack on basically unlimited amounts of Cucumber/ Celery and that saved my hunger pains!

I would love for you all to get in touch with me if your surgery is around the same time, need support and to compare notes with you all!

P.S I dont know if this is relevant but i am 18yrs old from New Zealand

    Thanks

    Ash
