  1. I started at age 42- 210 pounds- got surgery right after my 43rd birthday and have lost 43 pounds as of Sunday. It is the best thing I have done for myself in years!
  2. I made some meatloaf balls made with turkey- they are perfect because I put them in the freezer and just take out one at a time.
  3. I am concerned that you are eating chicken already- at one week out I was only doing clear liquids. I can't imagine having tried to eat something solid at one week. I would call and talk to my doctor- I would be afraid you may cause damage eating solid foods so quickly- especially if they are getting stuck.
  4. I too hope you decide to share this with your spouse- I personally believe there should be no secrets between spouses and this is a pretty major thing to keep to yourself. My port doesn't really show, but you can certainly feel it. My husband is my biggest supporter and I can't imagine doing this journey without him!
  5. I had 2 ccs put in mine during surgery- I am down 32 pounds- have had no issues with eating or gettig stuck. I am not hungry between meals and I honestly don't think I wil get a fill on my 6 week appointment.
  6. I am just the opposite- I have suffered from 2-3 migraines a month for years. since being banded a month ago I have not had one headache at all. I cannot remember the last time I have gone a whole month without a headache. Good luck- the best thing I can tell you is to work with your doctor to get the right mecicine- It took awhile and trying many different ones, but when we finally found "the one" it was such a blessing!!
  7. I was off for a week and two days- I had my surgery on a Tuesday and would have been fine to go bak on Monday except my work requires a return to work form after three days and I didn't go back to see my doctor until the Wednesday after and that's when I got my RTW form.
  8. I asked my Dr. about it since I will be going to Silver Dollar City 6 weeks after my surgery an he said I would be fine.
  9. My insurance will cover a tummy tuck an breast redution if deemed necessary- My doctor just needs to document if I have rashed where my belly sags and bak problems from my breast being too big for my size. He has been documenting the rashes I have been getting from being overweight for over a year now, so hopefully when it is time it will all go through
  10. I'm down 25 pound from April 28th!!!
  11. I was told no- I gave it up when I started my preop diet. Really haven't missed it as much as I thought I would.
  12. Mine was one week later. No fill until my next appointment at 6 weeks. I had 2 ccs put in at surgery. The only thing he did at the first appointment was remove the staples.
  13. I felt the same way you did- I never really had too much pain and only took my pain pills to sleep at night. The day after my mom and I went shopping at Lowes and Walmart- I was tired when we got home, but I think that getting up and functioning as much as normal helps lots!
  14. I was only there for a couple hours- but my mom came (22 hour drive) It was nice to have her around- got a little more sympathy than I think I would have from my husband. He's a great guy, but sympathy is not one of his strong points.
  15. Not the actual procedure- but happy to have them out!
  16. I am so excited to get my staples out tomorrow- They are itching and are really annoying. I think I will sleep better at night without them too.
  17. I had some coughing too- didn't break anything- it hurts for the first 3-4 days, but gets better after that.
  18. I was banded 5-7 and am going on a big family vacation on 6-14. I think I will be fine- I will be transitioning to the real food stage during the week. We are planning on cooking a lot of our meals in because there will be such a large group of us eating out will be will be quite an expense. I have old my family and am going to rely on them for help during the week.
  19. Thanks all I'm feeling a lot better today.
  20. I was banded a week ago- I don't think I could have done the bypass- I too thought that was a bit drastic for me to actually cut out part of my body. I have been happy so far- I am down 20 pounds since I started and feel great! Looking forward to a new me with more energy than I have had in years!
  21. If it weren't for the staples I would have been ready to go back yesterday- I was banded a week ago today. The staples really bother me though- I get those removed and will be going back to work on Thursday.
  22. You will do great!!!!
  23. Glad to know it's normal- looking forward to having thin oatmeal for breakfast tomorrow. If it continues tomorrow I will call my Dr and get his opinion- my followup with him is Wednesday morning (Can't wait to get these staples out!!)
  24. My stomach is still rumbling- glad I am home!
  25. I know this may be TMI- but I have been having pretty bad diarrhea today. I was banded last Tuesday (5/9) and am still on the clear liquid part of the diet- I switch to mushies tomorrow. Is this common? I am worried about becoming dehydrated- I continue to drink my water, but feel it is coming out faster than it is going in. Anyone have the same thing at about this point?
