Cowboy boots and a mini skirt

I would love just to be able to buy 'normal' clothes. No Lane Bryant, no Avenue, no granny clothes, just... something from the Gap or American Eagle or any of those brands that we of size are basically forbidden to wear. I'd like the experience of choice and availability instead of being brought to frustrated tears trying to cobble together something I can wear to an interview from three racks of grudgingly offered mumus.

I feel a lot of those who were banded and lost forget where they began. Some post seem to be so disheartening when it comes to beginners. We are supposed to support one another. Not judge them and make snide remarks about things they may not be doing correctly. Remember the fat person who was constantly judged by others before you place judgement on people.

Looking forward to my next fill. 140 here i come!!!

I am just beginning my journey; my first consultation is on 10/30/12. I know that the lap band won't make me eat better, but it will be a tool to help me eat less, and give me the drive and determination to make the right choices when it comes to food and to exercise.

Good luck to you Nicole! How very exciting about your consult. Hopefully it goes great.For me, I want to be a great example for those around me who also struggle and more than anything, I want to prove to myself that this body that I'm in and this life that I've been leading doesn't have to be my death sentance. I've tried so hard, so many different ways on so many different plans to lose weight, I just can't stick with them. I'm hopeful that the band will be a good tool that will assist me in a lifelong journey. Like you say, it can't control what I put in my mouth...but I think that it will be that extra motivator that I need to stick with my new lifestyle.

PB is Productive Burping

So, normally when we get Chinese food there are no fortune Cookies left cause my kids take them all. But oddly enough, there was a lone cookie in the counter so I decided to open it. I am not superstitious and I don't really believe in any of that stuff but tonight I see it as a sign. I am scheduled to be banded on 11/20. My fortune reads, "A new venture will be a success." I'm just gonna go with that.......

My out of pocket maximum before the insurance pays 100% is 1,650.00 But the insurance pays for not office visits so I have spent an additional 1,000 getting my pre testing done so around 2600. I will also have to pay out of pocket for all my follow up visits. I think the benefits will be well worth it and compared to the cost of weight watcher or nutrisystem foods hopefully this weight loss will be permanent. I have tons of clothes in all sizes so am looking forward to actually being able to wear them!!

Vent away, it helps . Yes, doubts are common, we've all tried a zillion diets that have failed, what makes this different? I would make a list of things that motivate you- NSV's- like going on the rides at the fair without worrying they'll kick you off for being too fat, no seatbelt extender on an airplane, weighing less than DH (these are a few of mine, LOL).
Have a little journal where you write your feelings- good and bad- and reasons to keep on keeping on. It's still a journey, even though you have some excellent help in the form of the band. It will have ups and downs, remember this is a lifetime thing, not another diet.
So you can do it, I know you can, just feel your feelings, own them, and try not to eat them .

Congratulations on your success! But I have a question, what is plication? I'm a newbie...my seminar is tonight...so I'm just learning

My surgeons office submitted the pre-auth after I went to the seminar. They called me about a week later to ask when I wanted to have the surgery, I chose a date about 3-4 weeks later. I had my surgery on sept 19, 2012. I am doing awesome. My 1st fill is oct 18. I have lost 24lbs. Let me know if you have any more questions

Welcome! Insurance requirements very from carrier to carrier. I was selc pay so I can't help much there. You will get lots of help from my fellow LBT friends.
