  1. I know what you mean sometimes I think I am hungry but a snack helps. It sounds like your band may be too tight? I don't have my band super tight as I want it for an aid. I know it's a weird idea. So that would be a normal meal for me. I am down 40 pounds. Do you feel the band is too tight or is it mental? I find every day a challenge, but it's getting easier.

  2. Sorry guys I have been out of touch. I am busy at work since I hae gone back. I am one month post op today. I can start regular food next Friday. However, I have not lost weight since the surgery. My first fill is on the 22nd. Anyone else having the same problem? I haven't been cleared to exercise yet.

Also, has anyone had any wine or alcohol yet? I am craving wine.

  3. I am on day 4 out of 5 for liquid diet. I get banned on the 10th. However, I called because the liquid diet is not settling with me right and asked if I could take tums. Now they may cancel my surgery. My surgeon thinks I am sick. This is not the case. I should have never called. I am freaking out right now. Everything that could have gone wrong has for my surgery. I had a hernia and it is a medium one so that is a concern then they thought I had a decificany which could have caused Addison's disease. I don't have it. I will have started the process in march. It has almost been a year.

Also, if you haven't been put on a liquid diet and are doing it I would suggest adding maybe pudding. It will help the stomach.

  4. I am going to be banded in January, but I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16. I was diagnosed from blood tests. However, my birth control "masked" my PCOS from showing on bloodwork. However, it came out full force a year and a half ago. PCOS has infertility symptoms, Hair growth, bellly fat in the middrift, and other symptoms. Metformin can help people; however, this drug made my violently ill and could not eat without getting sick. That is why I went with the band. This is the only other tool right now which helps PCOS. I would advise to contact an Endo they should be able to help you.

  5. Catlady what a great birthday present. I do have to do an all liquid clear diet. I am dreading that. But I was talking to my surgeon and he said they recommend no alcohol for 3 months however wine is like Water he said. It goes down easy. So I was thankful for that.

However, I am nervous I have my pre-op on monday I have gained 30 pounds since my six months even though I am still on a 1300 carlorie diet. I had to go off my meds so we will see yikes.

One of my biggest concerns is how to answer all the questions about my weight loss.

  6. I am one month from Surgery January 10th. I am excited and nervous. I have actually gained 20 pounds since I was approved due to PCOS and going off of birthcontrol. It is okay though I am ready for my pre-op appointment next week. Does Mexico have different regulations? I know you said your scheduled for a surgery in Mexico? I am nervous for the recovery and I am a wine drinker so that should be interesting

  7. Keep your heads up. I am sure it is fustrating but look at the journey you guys have come through. I am sure it will work out. Have you called Aetna to talk to them to see what they are looking for? Keep us updated. My surgery was finally scheduled for 1/10

  8. Hello,

I got my approval from Aetna, My surgery is scheduled from 1/10, and then I get a call. My cortisol levels are low. I have to go see and Endo which is fine, but everywhere is telling me they are booking for March. I started this journey last March. I am feeling discouraged and don't think I am going to be able to get the band. They said something about Addison Disease?
