  1. I also have trouble with getting my liquids in. I am dehydrated again. Trying to really push myself today to get in enough. My bloodwork came back that I have high BUN/creatine ratio and low Anion gap. Waiting to hear from the doctor about this. My pulse is low so they took me off all meds except reflux medicine and vitamins. I have been off over a week and my pulse is still mid 40's to low 50's. I go today for and echo and to get a holter monitor. Not sure what's going on with me. I am also stalled. I was on a water pill which I am now off so I gained after that...FRUSTRATING!
  2. Also think of it this way, you have lost almost 1/2 of your excess body weight! Way to go!!!
  3. I don't think so. You have lost a total of 44 pounds. You started out lower than me and were sleeved after me. I have only lost 43 pounds and was sleeved 2/19 I am happy with my weight loss Don't be so hard on yourself!
  4. So excited! Went shopping for a new outfit and had to keep getting smaller sizes!!! Finally landed on an 18/20 top and XL skirt!!! I was wearing 3-4X, and 26/28!!! I think my outfit is not quite accurate but feels good anyways!
  5. I was sleeved on 2/19 and was doing pretty well. I've lost 43 pounds. This past weekend I began feeling lightheaded. I thought it was from overdoing it since we were moving my office downstairs to make room for my new grandson. It continued on Sunday and Monday. I almost passed out on Monday so I thought, maybe I should check my BP. It was fine, but my pulse was only 44. I called my GP and he had me come in right away. He took me off my water pill and halfed my beta blocker. Today my pulse was only 39 so he is now taking me completely off the beta blocker too. I feel exhausted. He has referred me to a cardiologist. Has anyone else had something like this?
  6. yes, you can use skim milk. This is also good because it gives you protein. I was also able to eat oatmeal that was thinned. I added some sugar free jelly to give it good flavor
  7. I would stay away from tomato, too much acid. I tried it about a week out and was sorry. Pudding, yogurt, etc are great. I made my own cream of potato soup and added protein powder. I just boiled a potato in chicken broth until super soft. I pureed this, added cheese and milk. I then added the chicken flavored protein powder and it was yummy! One potato would make about 4 meals for me at that point. Most Dr's say no straws. I was told to use a straw because of getting too much air through normal sipping. It worked for me, but not everyone.

    Dreamfields Pasta?

we love it! My husband is diabetic so we've used it for years. I love pasta and allow myself some occasionally. I am 2 months out and always make sure I eat my protein first! My nut said it's fine!
  12. I am putting right along, losing about a pound a week. Does anyone else have real hunger? I feel like I am hungry often. It seems like I am less hungry on the weekends, I don't know if it's because I'm busy doing things or what. During the week, I feel like I get hungry more often. Maybe it's sitting at my desk and kind of know that at about 9:30 I can have a snack. Like yesterday, I at breakfast at like 9:30, then I didn't even think of food again until like 3. I know this isn't how I'm supposed to eat, but during the week I feel hungry about every 3 hours. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
  13. I can definitely tell! You are doing great! We are always the last to see it! I see it in your arms, chin/neck, tummy, back...everywhere! Keep up the great work!
  14. that seems like how I am. All week I watch what I eat & drink and either don't lose anything or am very slow. On the weekends we eat out, I am much more lax with what I am doing and I always lose! Yesterday I went to get my lunch and found that my hubby accidently took it to work. I then jumped in my car and went to burger king and got a cheeseburger. I even ate half the roll and it had onion rings and 1,000 island dressing on it...when I stepped on the scale this morning I was a pound lighter than yesterday! I had also lost a pound over the weekend...so what's up with that!!! I'm not complaining, just confused
  15. I was sleeved 2/19 and am down 39 pounds. I am now losing approximately a pound a week, and I am good with that! This morning I weighed myself and then my husband weighed himself...I am finally less than him!!! WOOT WOOT!!!! Now he is 9 inches taller than me, but I will take every single milestone I can get! I hope everyone is doing great!
  16. I have been eating these great wraps! I love bread & pasta so this is great! They are carb balance by mission. They have 120 calories, 3g fat, 1.5g sat fat, 19g carbs, 13g fiber & 5g protein. So these have only 6 net carbs!!!

    surgery day.jpg

  18. We sound like we have similar issues, but you are more severe. I have been tested over and over for thyroid issues, but nothing. I always ate very little, but still gained. I did a lot of research about my options and I am so happy that I had the sleeve done. During my surgery prep time, I made the decision that it doesn't matter if I only lose 50 pounds with this, that is 50 pounds less than where I was! I was required to do a 3 month diet before surgery and I only lost 6 pounds. I extended my full liquid pre-op diet to a full week and lost an additional 5. I am so glad I had the surgery! I had it done on 2/19, so I am almost 8 weeks. I have lost a total, including pre-op, of 37 pounds. I feel better already. I have fibromyalgia and always took at least 4 advil every day just to deal with the pain. I have used a total of 3 advil since my surgery. I have found that if I have a good balance with my protein, carbs & fat I feel so much better! My rheumatologist was so excited, she released me. My goal is to get to 165. That is still considered to be overweight for my 5'6" stature, but if I feel this good at 256, I just can't even imagine almost 100 pounds lighter! I take one day at a time. I do have reflux and had problems with food getting stuck. My gastroenteroligist stretched my esophagus before my surgery and my surgeon made my sleeve a little larger. I do take medication for the reflux, but have found I am so much better after surgery. You really do need to listen to your body. You need the first week after surgery to do nothing but learn what your body is telling you. You need to know when to stop. I had planned on being off work for only one week, but had to be off 2 because I got dehydrated. This is my main struggle, getting in enough fluids. I wish you luck!!!!
  19. I am the same way! I was sleeved 2/19 and I know I am getting close to being dehydrated again! So frustrating. I only had about 30 oz yesterday. I feel like I am so thirsty, but just can't drink. I feel like I am full to the top! I keep trying to just sip sip sip, but not enough is getting in. I keep water with me at all times.
  20. how many carbs is everyone eating? I wasn't given a number for this
  21. I have a question...ok, let me warn you...TMI!!!! For the past week my poop has been green. I do use iron, but I have been taking it for months. I read somewhere that if you don't eat enough this can happen. Anyone else have this? Also, I know it's not from veggies, I have added them, but I don't eat a lot and not every day yet
  22. I feel like you were telling my story. I used to not eat or eat very little. I would then eat bad choices. My body is adjusting to eating regularly. I am still having trouble with eating so often. Since I eat regular food, usually I am still full. I was thinking this may be because my stomach empties slow. I had a gastric emptying study and it was barely within the normal range & the doctor said that's why I feel full. I guess this would be exasperated by the surgery.
