    I hate protein shakes :-(

Hold your noise girl. It sucks! I hate protein shakes to the fullest and haven't found one I like yet so it's torture getting them down. The best one, if you can even call it that, is the "Premier Protein" from costco the chocolate kind. It is the best tasting, if you can call it that either lol, and has 30g of protein per shake. I have heard the "Nectar" shake powder in cappucinno and the chocolate truffle is delicious. Going to order some this weekend. Good luck. It sucks but you have to do it. Time to step out of the comfort zone and just do what you have to do even if you don't want to. This whole process is about doing things and going through things you don't want to. It starts now so practice it. It's a HUGE change. We are all here to support you and be that sholder to cry on.

    Lose Skin After Surgery

Well I think your age will def be to your advantage cause your skin elasticity is better then if you were my age, 29 or older but you have to remember how much weight you have to loose and you are going to loose it fast so that is why we have the skin. If you have more to loose than someone else then you will most likely have more skin than they would. I know you wish someone had an answer but I have learned through this whole process so far that everyone is different and no one person is the same and has the same results. You just have to do you and see what happens. Follow your path and see where it takes you. You will do great reguardless and those that I have spoken to including family members have said that the weight loss outweighs the loose skin any day.

    Not Losing....

Oh and one last thing. One of the biggest things I have learned is that this is just a tool. At 2 months out I could eat almost whatever I wanted. And now at 3 months out I can eat anything I want so it's up to me to make the right choices and portion control. This weight loss is ALL UP TO YOU. The only thing the surgery does for you, in a nutshell, is help you loose a few more pounds a week than you would dieting but that's it. YOU have to do the rest. Just like when you dieted you have to choose the right foods, not eat too much of those foods, drink all your water, get in all your protein, take your vitamins and work out to keep the weight loss going and strenghen your body. Sounds like everything you did before the surgery right, exactly. It's alll up to YOU. But again it does end up being worth it.

    Not Losing....

I have been in the same spot you have. I think everyone has. It sucks and you feel like you regret everything. I think it took me about 2 monhs before I decided that the surgery was worth it. No matter how much people say hide your scale and just stay positive you are still frustrated. It's just reality and being human. I am here to tell you as much as you don't want to hear just wait it out and stay positive and don't weight yourself but once a week, they are all right. While going through this I had to remember I just had major surgery and my body will take at least 6 months to heal inside if not more, you are starving your body and it's natural thing to do is hold on to everything, if you don't get all your protein in you are more likely to not loose as much, but getting in all your protein is almost impossible especially in the beginning unless you are drinking protein shakes, you cannot control how much you loose. I have weeks when I lose 5 or more and then I only lose 1 or 2 pounds a week for a couple of weeks. Your body is going to do what it wants to and you just have to accept it no matter how mad you get. I am finally at that place at almost 3 months so it took some time to accept it and you will get to that place also and the last thing I had to keep telling myself was I had this surgery to get healthy not to count how many pounds I can loose and how fast I can loose it. It's hard to not get caught up on the number but try and remember you did this to get healthy. Once your body gets to a comfortable place with what you did to it, it will relax and start to let go of the weight. I promise it get's better. Good luck hun!!!

    Lose Skin After Surgery

I think everyone is different. I have seem people that have lost the same amount of weight and one might have a lot of extra skin and another have a little. And everyone carries their weight differently too so it's hard to say where you are going to have most of your loose skin. I would definitly plan on having loose skin cause I think everyone for the most part has some. I have lost 64 pounds so far and I already have loose skin on my arms and my upper thighs. To be honest the skin was one of the main reasons I never wanted to have the surgery. I didn't know how I could handle it but I finally got to a point where I couldn't worry about the cosmetic part of it anymore. I had to focus on the health part and being here for my daughter. I still am not looking forward to it cause let's be honest I think that is a lot, if not most, peoples concern but I do see people that are like 1 year out and how they look and then see them 3 years out and their body is totally diffferent and way more toned and solid. It will take time to tranform your body but it can be done. I have seen it. You just have to work your butt off and give it time. Hope this was what you were looking for.

    Premier Protein (Costco)

Yes they are great. I have at least1 everyday. It's alot easier to get 30g of protein with food than 60g with food so I try and drink one a day. I am not a fan of the taste but I guess it is the best tasting one I have found so far and convenient, no mixing . It's worth it for 30g of protein.
  10. I want to know what your favorite snack is. Do you have one you eat everyday or maybe a go to snack? What about a favorite meal you love to make. Please do share!
  11. Where do you go to find healthy low fat, high protein recipes?
  12. I will check these all out. Thanks guys
  13. Great ideas! All sounds good guys. Any other takers?

    Whats for dinner tonight?

I am right there with you. I am almost 3 months out and I still try to get at least 1 shake in a day.

    Whats for dinner tonight?

I did with canned chicken. I mixed it with light mayo and it was good. I think that was the only meay I did that with. The canned chicken at the 99 cent store was more chopped up than the kind at the grocery store.
  16. I started this too but never had enough guts to keep it going and post them. Good luck on your video blog

    I need some help...

Time, it all takes time. Try and remember this ladies. You just messed your body all up and had major surgery so you need to give your body time to get use to it's new way of working. It will get better. Just give it time I promise!
  18. Hello RnY family, What kind of meds do you take when you have a cold and/or cough? I was just getting over bronchitis and now have some kind of cold and feel like crap. Need some suggestions on what to do. I figure my immune system is low from surgery 2 1/2 months ago and the whole nutrition thing so I may be more suseptiable to getting sick. Is this true and if so what can I do to help from getting sick all the time? Thanks guys
  19. Thank you everyone. That help a lot

    I need some help...

The most important thing you need to remember is that everyone is different so don't compare yourself. I know it's hard cause I did compare myself too BUT remember, you say you could of lost that much on your own remember you couldn't or you wouldn't of had the surgery. I said the same thing to my friend and she gave me a reality check by saying that and you know what, she was right. If I could of lost 2 pounds on my own I wouldn't of had to have the surgery. I couldn't stay commited and do it on my own so I had to. You couldn't lose 27 pounds in less than 2 months on your own so remember that. It's not only about the number it's also about staying commited to this and being consistant. You are being consistant losing 2 pounds a week so be proud. When was the last time you stayed on something for almost a month and consistatnly lost? Try and keep your head up. We have or all have been there. You are not alone. It's natural to feel this way. Just remember eveyone is different and the weight loss will increase. Try to also remember what you put your body through. It has no idea what you did to it. All it knows is it's starving and it's gonna hold on to what it can till it adjusts and relizes this is it's new way of life. Good luck and we are all here for you.

    Nothing tastes good anymore

I have had this issue also and sometimes it comes and goes. I am 2 1/2 months out. I have heard it will pass and it's just something that we go through but you have to also remember we don't get to eat the things we have always loved so food isn't "fun" anymore. At least that is what I have found. I don't want to eat if it doesn't taste yummy and make me happy and the foods that we eat aren't triggering the happy part in my brain so I don't want it.. That has been hard for me to get use to and I don't know if I ever will but that is what I have found to be my issue. I think it will pass if it's just about the food not the happy connection you have with it. Just my opinion.
