  1. Hola Familia! Is anyone a fan of MyFitnessPal??? I downloaded the app on my phone, so far I find it really helpful. And I like the fact you can also go online to the actual website also. My Myfitnesspal name is Steffy723 (of course, lol) if anyone would like to be friends with me, I'm lonely and could use a friend lol :D

  2. Surgery tomorrow in NJ in storm. Still on. Excited for surgery but so hungry! Only had to do one day of clear liquids, still hungry. One week of clear liquids after.

Crazy that surgeon is not canceling surgery during storm. Anyway, stay safe everybody.

Be safe AnnaRabbit, it's a mess thanks to SANDY! I'm in Delaware and we're getting beat up pretty bad too.

  3. Ugh, woke up this morning with excruciating port pain. I pressed down and realized that it moved about an inch go the right. I'm scared to call my doctor because I don't wanna bug him and I already called him yesterday about the results from my CT Scan. Is this normal? The horrible pain? I know it's fine for it to be tender, but this is extremely painful.

Call your doctor... I'm sure they're use to it. And I hate to say it like this but... THAT'S WHAT WE'RE PAYING THEM FOR. That sometimes sounds to ignorant to say, lol, but it's the truth. I was banded on the 23rd and I had an ekg and all kinds of blood work because I wasn't "feeling right" and they were right, it was nothing... but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

  4. Had my surgery yesterday, just got home from the hospital. It hurts to get in the bed, hurts to get out the bed... my belly just hurts! it feels so heavy, and when i walk it feels like all my stitches or whatever are going to bust! I read a post about an adominal binder, I'm going to try that.

Oh yea, HELLO LB FAM

  5. Hey LB fam... I'm a little nervous! My surgery is tomorrow morning at 7:30am, I'm excited. BUT my head has been pounding for the last two days, my blood pressure is elevated way too high! I'm scared that my doc will cancel my surgery because of my blood pressure... and if they don't cancel it, is it safe to perform surgery if my blood pressure is not normal?!?! I'm so SKEERED (way pass scared, lol)

  6. Am just starting pre op diet for two weeks. What Protein shake did you go with? I am in Texas and I am so excited also. I would love a buddie to chat with.

Today is my first day of my two weeks liquid fast, my surgery date is 10/23 too! I am drinking Optifast I purchased from my surgeons office. The already made shakes are good, but a little more expensive. The shake powder is not that yummy. But I will only be doing the Optifast for two weeks, then after that I'll probably go back to my EAS or powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury.

  7. ok wondering if u October banders can help me out? I am having my surgery October 30th & am a little ( no actually a lot ) disappointed in my doctor.. See the only thing I had to do to get approved was 1 prove I had tried a diet plan before & Failed & then I needed a letter of necessity from my doctor which I got. Here is the thing he doesn't having me going to any kind of nutrient class nor does he do a pre opt diet & that makes me nervous, I am trying to find a nutrient that has experience in bariatric diets on my own but the closest one is a hours away & scheduling way after my surgery. So here is my question for u guys I want to do my own pre opt diet can some one give me a ideal on what i need & how to do it? i would like to do it for the last 2 weeks before surgery does that sound about right.

Thank you ahead of time if u take time out of ur busy schedule to anwer my questions.

My scheduled surgery date is 10/23 and I had to go through six months of nutrition and exercise appts. I had to make menus and all kinds of stuff. Plus, I had to lose weight while doing all this to prove I was serious! I thought everyone had to do the same things.

  8. Ok... I'm so happy I found this on the web, it's nice to read issues that others have shared or are dealing with. I am scheduled for surgery 10/23 and I am a big ball of nerves! Honestly, I don't think it's the surgery that has me nervous but the AFTER that has me scared. I've had a few negative people in my ear telling me how this doesn't work and I was wasting my time/money/health, but I refuse to believe that... especially after seeing so many success stories!

This posting was me introducing myself to my newly found Lapband family! I hope you guys will keep me in prayer and please, PLEASE send me any advice or tips you may have. I am the first person in my circle of family and friends to have the lapband so I do not have anyone who can relate to my fears, stress, or accomplishments. :D
