    Port question

I am two months out and mine kinda freaks me out, too. I posted earlier today that It bothers me when I exercise. It is uncomfortable to the touch but not to just sit around.

    Port & exercise

So it isn't painful if you if you are putting pressure on it during exercise? I am just frustrated because my abs need some serious TLC, lol.

    Insurance paying for tummy tuck?

I have a friend who had a tummy tuck and insurance paid all but $200. It was medically necessary because she was getting sores in the folds of her skin.

    What Up Jersey!

B52, I have seen you many times on the LBT boards. Funny, I am from Wall but now in Ocean County.

    Carbs

Just curious how many grams of carbohydrates people are eating post op? Did your nutritionist set guidelines for you?

    First fill!!

I was laying down and my eyes were closed. Before he put it in he said, "Get ready to say 'ouch.'" As soon as I felt it, I slowly said, "Son. Of. A. B****." Except I said the real word! His response was, "I didn't tell you to say THAT, just ouch." Then he laughed. It was not a pleasant experience by any means but he did tell me the first fill is the worst and they get better after that. We shall see.........

    PROTEIN SHAKES

I LOVE the chocolate Premier drinks and I, too, buy them at costco. They taste like Yoo Hoo, albeit the grown-up version. :-) Not crazy about the vanilla, although not crazy about any of the vanillas I have tried. They're all too sweet for my liking.

    Eating at restaurants

Funny thing.....we used to go out to dinner or get take out at least 3 or 4 times a week. Often more than that during summer when the kids are out of school. I started really getting serious and preparing for surgery right after Labor Day when my kids went back to school, even though I wasn't going to have my surgery until 11/29. Well, yesterday I received my year-end credit card statement. Holy cow! (Yeah, quite literally lol!) I could NOT even believe what we spent at restaurants prior to September (thousands!!!!!!) but after September there was just a handful, meaning less than 10 times in a 3 1/2 month period. So now I am a little thinner in my back pocket and a lot thicker in my wallet. Yay me!!

It's Not Fair, I Feel Like I'm Being Set Up!!

I know what you mean! I am about to boycott Shop Rite (our local grocery store) because they keep pulling crap like making Entenmann's 50% off!!!

    Increased hunger!!!!

Agreed. Only meant that I thought I physically wouldn't be able to get it down but I have no problem with any foods.

    November bandsters Unite

Agreed! This is hard ( bandster hell as some call it) but learning what to eat, when to eat it, and how much of it I could eat was all pre op. To go from say, 3,500 calories per day (some days WAY more) to 1,500 was a huge change and very hard. Way harder than going from 1,500 to 1,200.

    WEIGHT LOST

Me too, Rhonda. I have lost 50 since before my surgery and I am still wearing the same pants. My pant legs are definitely baggy and yes, they are looser in the waist but I don't think I am ready for the next size smaller yet. Very frustrated, too.

    Fitbit

I bought the fitbit one and returned it the next day. I wanted to love it because the concept is great. However, it wouldn't sync with my iPad 2 (only syncs with iPad 3 or newer) and didn't sync with my phone. It only synced with my PC but I don't use that anymore (just the iPad) and it is all the way down in the dungeon/basement.
