My dates keep changing because my insurance company is being a real PITA. I am now scheduled for 11/29, pending their approval. Waiting for a peer to peer to happen first. I am so frustrated.

2 days before Thanksgiving! I think I am more upset about not shopping on Black Friday.

I haven't been on lately. Sandy did a real number on the Jersey Shore but I am thankful to say my home was spared. I can't say the same for many of my friends and family members. It has been so sad here lately but I am starting to come around. Today was the first time I made it through breakfast without shedding tears from all of the devastation and pain those I love are facing. Anyway, my surgery was originally supposed to be 11/20 but got moved to 11/26. All of my paperwork was sent to the insurance company and I got a call from my surgeon this morning. I was denied. Tears. Again. There was no real explanation as to why but I have an appointment on Wednesday and from there my surgeon will schedule a peer-to-peer.

Thanks, everyone. I don't know anyone who has had to do peer-to-peer mediation so I don't know what it entails or how long it goes on for.

I am scheduled for 11/20 and I have been waiting for this day forever. But in the past week I am wondering if maybe this isn't for me after all. I lost 20 pounds on my own so far, losing about 2 pounds per week. I am not starving myself, just eating more sensibly by making better food choices and watching my portions. I also walk about an hour a day, five days a week. I see a lot of banded people really aren't losing as much weight as I would have thought. I know that it is a slow process when compared to gastric bypass but I am wondering why I am losing more without the band. But then I look at some of you who have had unbelievable success with it and it inspires me. What should I do?

It doesn't matter if you are a slow loser. You are a loser, how long it took you is irrelevant, as long as you are happy. Congratulations!

You are hysterical! Except for the fact that our kids are different ages, I totally could have written your post. I wish you lots of luck and I hope to see more of your posts on here.

Can't they take over the cooking for you? At 17 I wasn't gourmet by any means but I could make French toast, a burger, eggs, and some other simple things. You have done it or them all these years so why can't they help you for another week or two?

I am not fond of the iPad app although I do use it. I prefer to go directly to the website but the app is quicker.

How did you do after the band?

Hi, did you do all of the insurance required tests first? I hope you hear something soon. My surgeon submitted all my stuff last Wednesday but insurance company hasn't responded yet. I am scheduled for 11/20.
