Glad you are doing well, Betty. Good for you getting on the treadmill your first day back. You are quite a trooper. It takes a while to get over the tiredness, so be sure to get plenty of rest between you exercise and trying to get all your liquids in. It's a full time job recooperating, isn't it?

How do you know you are full????
Rebeccalee replied to cateringqueen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I thought I had the those issues licked until a month ago --then it all changed. I'm re-learning how to tell if I'm full or if I ate too fast. After 4 months, it's still a challenge. I also think I rarely feel true hunger. I think I started eating faster and relaxing since it was going so well and now I've had to back off again. Go slow and if you still pb often, you may need a tiny unfill. I don't pb, but I get the pain. -
Absolutely find a Protein drink you don't mind drinking, unless your doctor has prescibed one. I used unjury from Unjury.com and Isopure liquid, it looks like koolaid. They cost more, but I can drink them. I tried several kinds before surgery. Call your doctor's office and tell them about your troubles. They are there to help you with this. You may need to work on your feelings more than anything. Difficulties are part of the process. Do the best you can and that should be good enough.

Been missing you all. . . and some NSV's

Wow, Nancy! You are ambitious now! Congrats on the new direction and the new size. The red dot is you being active, I think. They don't want you to get confused about who you are! A green dot is someone online and a blue dot is someone not online. -
Yippeee!! I just knew you would post today. Take it easy. Sometimes the 3rd or 4th day is the worst, maybe because we do too much. So glad you are home!  :Bunny :Bunny

It sounds like a textbook recovery to me. Congratulations on you banding!

Zoe, better schedule that trip now...it used to take a year to get a spot. That is something wonderful to look forward to. I can't believe it was only 10 years ago that I hiked the Grand Canyon in one day, 22 miles! We couldn't get reservations to camp in the canyon even though we tried to get them 6 months ahead of time. I am very close to the same weight now and need to get in shape again and start climbing mountains!

I can't believe you guys are up so early. I went to bed at 3 am Pacific time and had to sleep until 10. This has got to stop! My 2 grown brats...er...boys...were visiting and we had a riotous time. They're both night owls and kept me up way past my bedtime. The oldest has his own message board he's addicted to and gets on my computer. Now there's a fight! :knockedou

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?
Rebeccalee replied to live2canoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Aww, DeLarla, that is so sweet. You are a doll. I'll tell DH that he owes ME 10. 'Cause I finally got on that bike and caught up with that debt. I would have gone longer, but I was pooped. I called a local gym, too, and they will have a special sign-up in November, probably. We checked it out back in the spring; now it's time to join up. They have the machine I used to do that I really like. It's like an escalator that goes nowhere. I was up to 45 minutes several years ago. Now 5 minutes simulates a heart attack. For now, I'm on that bike every day....I hope. :nervous -
I made chicken barley stew today and it was good! It's sitting in there uncomfortably, though, so I suppose I better be more careful with it. Sheesh! :speechles

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?
Rebeccalee replied to live2canoe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Geez Darcy, is that your penance (is that the word for paying for your sins? ) I am gonna walk right over there and get on my exercise bike. I owe my DH 40 minutes...STILL. He won't exercise again until I pay up. :ermm How long have we being doing this challenge? And I haven't risen to it yet! -
I heard someone else eats sushi but leaves the seaweed. Can you do a trial run, getting some to go at lunch or something? I'd be a bit apprehensive until I tried it first. Good luck!
-
Congratulations on being so close to goal, Michelle. Man, if I was that restricted, I'd think there was something wrong for sure. You are certainly a veteran bandster. Hope this fill does the trick for you. It looks like it is! :Bunny

I have definitely been craving stew or some chunky Soup the last couple days. I think I'll make some today. Our heat wave was short and followed by cold rain. I think I'm starting to hibernate. I use a locally made pesto ranch dressing that is probably not so good for weight loss.
-
Well, I hope Michelle keeps losing because she seems to be my role model. I am down 3 since last Monday, too. I really expected to stop losing since I eat ALL DAY LONG! Dr. C told me to eat more often since my capacity is decreased. Boy! Did I follow those directions! It is making me nervous. I don't like this new habit, so I hope it's temporary. I'm sure it will catch up to me one of these days. Until then...I think I'll go catch a bite. By the way, you guys sure get up early back there. I need a job to get me out of bed! I'm feeling guilty about being such a lady of leisure. :ermm

My husband teases me about missing the boards when we are out of town. I'll have to try Penni's "take along" method. I hate it when you guys go "do things" over the weekend. I get very lonely.
-
Hang in there, Darcy. Can you find some activity, like a class or project that will occupy you for the next 3 weeks? I wish I could do that myself. You just might be holding Water from increasing your intake, not really gaining. Keep good thoughts so you don't get depressed. I know what you mean about being afraid to get a fill. I feel the same way. Don't worry too much until it is time to do it.
-
You are almost there! Do you have tests tomorrow and surgery Tuesday? Hope all goes very well for you. :Bunny
-
I'm so glad it is time. It will be great. You have done everything you can, so now just relax and take care of yourself. See you when you return!
-
I don't have any of the custom avatar options. I can change my title under my avatar.
-
Penni, I don't have anything but a bunch of page #s of cartoon avatars under the cartoons. And the save changes button. Does your new page have the custom button?
-
The only thing I see is the profile picture, which I assume sits on the profile page, not the message pages. I'd try it, but I don't want to lose my avatar!
