I'm the same as you day 3 post op full liquids.
How long do you say on full liquids? I'm 30 days.
Just curious
I'm on full liquids for two weeks then move on to mushy phase for a week or two! I was allowed milk on pre op diet as well as now. Only time I wasn't was Clear Liquids the 24 hour period after surgery.

I had a few waves of it i was banded the 12th of this month. Try just sitting or laying down for a few mins until it passes. Hope this helps a little!

I have the worst pain on my left lower side. It's almost like a cramp I used to get from walking over a mile. When I breath it hurts only thing to relieve it is laying down. Trying not to freak since I'm new to all of this I was banded 10-12-12. Could it still be gas or should I give the doc a call? ::

I had mine done with Boone court hospital in Columbia, but they all work together. They offer a special pricing for self pay patients check them out!!

Hi!!! I have been working with dr.pitt with Columbia bariatric! He and his team are amazing to work with. They have support groups every 3rd Thursday of the month and before the meeting they have a clothing swap. You can bring in clothes you don't fit and take some that do fit back home! If you google Columbia bariatric in mo they should pop up! Good luck

I chew a pack of gum a day no issues and my doc says as long as I don't swallow it I'm good to go. Straws he says most stay away from bc like the others have said too much air. I'm almost a week post op and just now getting comfy so I won't be trying straws anytime soon if ever!

The Y is calling my name. I need to move but still soreMe too!!! Like I want to go so bad but don't want to push it too far!

question for you:Do you still have staples/sutures? if yes then no swimming or weights or treadmill work.
You can however take light walks and trust me you will work up a sweat just doing that
I don't have staples, they said I have steristips but I can't see anything besides black scar things. Lol I don't plan to swim but I'd like to do some light treadmill soon and light weights for my arms :/

I was banded 10-12-12 and just wondering when everyone started working out?!! Obviously I'm not trying to do abdominal workouts yet but like light weights and anything else!!! Thanks!

It's going to be hard for me since I am in the process of opening a small cafe with my brother but I know I can't taste every single thing I cook!
Other than that I have replaced over eating with reading, kids activities, chewing gum and shopping for random things .

I was banded on 10/12/12 and on full liquids until the 27th of October. How am I supposed to be getting all my Protein and 6-8 cups of Water when after 1/2 a glass of water I'm full feeling and takes me 3 hours to drink 4 oz if my Protein Shake? !! Help please!!!
-
I was banded yesterday and I did my Clear Liquids yesterday, today I start full liquids but I don't have an appetite for anything. It's taken me almost an hour to drink 2 oz of my Protein Drink. One because I don't want to drink it too fast and two just because I don't have the feeling that I need to eat. Is this normal?
-
Thanks everyone!!!! I've been getting up as much as possible but if I'm up for too long I feel a little sick. Doctor said this is normal for the first day or so, so I hope it goes away quickly. Other than that no complaints! Hopefully my pain stats like this and does not get worse but only time will tell!!

Heading to the hospital right now.the last 5 days I have not been hungry feeling and this morning I woke up like I'm starving lol. They told me not to chew any gum! Don't they know I'm a gumaholic?!! Anywho I'm sure they have their reasons for it so I will do as I'm told! I'll keep you all updated on my process. Tootles for now!

Try the nectar Protein Shake. I get mine from www.mybariatricoantry.com and they have samples you can try but I love the strawberry mousse and double stuffed cookie. Taste like the real deal and add ice or let it set in freezer delish!!!

I just had my first consultation with True Results in Austin' date=' TX. The requirements for BCBS are not too bad... psych eval, 2 years of 40+ BMI or 35-39 with two co-morbids (HBP, sleep apnia, diabetes...). You also have to go through 90 days of nutrition and diet counseling, no drug use for a year, no tobacco use for 6 months.I am still not clear on out of pocket... hoping to get more information on that in the next visit.[/quote']
I have bcbs federal for MO and all of my pre op qualifications were the same out of pocket I have paid $345 total and that was the surgeon fee!! Good luck.
-
Yes' date=' they will give you medication via your IV to relax you as you wait for the staff to complete all of the pre op procedures. They do make an effort to ensure you are comfortable and calm.
I only took one item to the hospital with me...that was a Chapstick, and I was thankful I had it, as my lips got terribly dry.
The staff at the hospital where my surgery was done made certain that I was aware and understood everything they were doing. I don't recall them giving me the anesthesia, and then the next thing I remembered was waking up in the recovery room with my husband at my bed side.
Best wishes for a good surgery experience and an uncomplicated recovery![/quote']
Thank you, I'm really hoping that my hospital does this. I am known or having strong and all of a sudden panic attacks :/ so fingers crossed!

I was banded 10-12-12 and last night was our Forster time after surgery. I'm not in any pain or discomfort so we gave it a go but hubby did most of the work. We weren't as aggressive as normal so it was enjoyable without any port discomfort! Good luck!!
