Pat is Back... WooHoo!!! Why I could kiss a flyin monkey! Was great at the cabin this weekend... boy... a real cabin sure would be nice! We are just not sure if we can swing it financially. We'll see! I finally got on the treadmill yesterday... did 2 miles and then we went for another 30 minute walk later in the afternoon outside! OMIGOSH... it was in the 70's yesterday!!!!! It is really warm today as well and just came in from giving Miss Ava and myself a bath...hehehe. Betty... LOVED the pictures!!! No flowers blooming here but we should seeing a few things pop out of the ground soon with this weather! Eileenie... I really do believe that when one door closes...another one opens... if this opportunity doesn't pan out... there is a better one with your name written all over it. Hehehehe on waiting until AFTER Easter for you fill. Naughty girl! Kat... Girl... if we get this cabin we will probably have to rent it out for the EAA every year to help pay the taxes...lol. Heck... we may rent out our house too... I guess folks make a killing renting out their places during the fly-In. I live right here and have never been to the EAA... not once. Go figure. Dianne... How are you and the girls doing????? Patty... Sure am glad you are back posting with us! SHerry... Losing things... sheesh... I am 39 and I have the worst case of ICRS ever! My sister has it too... it makes converstation easy... we can never remember what we said the day before....hehehehe. Half the time... she says..."Oh... I was out shopping the other day and I found this great pattern...... " and I say... "I know... I was with you. " LOLOLOL. Everyone else... (((hugs))) Oh... my brother went out to California to my Step-Monster's funeral... he's a much nicer persona than I am. He brought back pictures that I haven't seen since I was a very little girl. I am going to post one. I was up most of the night thinking that I have few memories of that time in my life and no memories of my living with my Dad (Age 3 when they divorced). It was bittersweet seeing the pics... the reason there were not older pictures of me in her collection was due to the fact that I really never spent any amount of time with him after that age. Anyhoo... here is a blast from my past... and one of the few pictures you will ever see of me in a swimsuit!

He All... Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a happy weekend. We are heading up to stay in my Sister's cabin since they are selling and hopeful that we will buy it...lol. It certainly will be nice to stay in a cabin with running water and minus the live bug and mouse shows. Sorry I'm behind with personals... will try and catch up when I get back! TTFN

Hey Gals... Patty... I have been beggin for news on you... so glad to see your post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry you are having a rough time of it... hope the eviction notice situation has been taken care of as well as the job problems. Praying for your surgery date and knowing that it will happen! (((hugs))) So glad to see you back. :welldoneclap: Kat... Yikers! How frightening! I am such a chicken (no pun intended) that I would be a Soup and soft food eater forever and ever amen if there was the slightest chance that I would choke like your hubby. Glad he is okay! Sherry... Love ya girl... thanks so much for sharing your positive ways... it's so easy to get caught up in the stressful parts of life and forget to Celebrate and share the happy moments and I really appreciate how you remind me of this by example... you rock! Irene... Hmmmm... Kind of freaky with your fella. It really can be dangerous for adults to run temps that high... keep your eye on that fella and sure hope you are not coming down with it! Mary... So good to see you too... have missed you! Dianne... Hope the pain meds are good and the girls are heling up quickly! Betty... Glad you didn't get blown away in the storms! It was a beautiful weekend for us and we spent the day maple syruping up at the Sis's cabin. I love standing in the maple scented steam that comes off the boiling sap! Deb... It really sounds like you need an unfill. Take it from me... being over-filled does not always lead to weight-loss. It lead to weight gain for me as I finally started replacing real food with high calorie liquids because I was HUNGRY!!!!! Take care and consider a weensie unfill. (((hugs))) CIndy...(((hugs))) My sister is starting a business and this might perhaps solve my job search issues. I still will be submitting apps for nursing positions but would prefer something that will allow me to be active with my daughter's activities. FIL is feeling better but will be starting radiation and chemo next week. He is in for quite a rough road and is turning away help now so we are backing off. We will continue to offer... the rest is up to him. Haven't been on my treadmill very much... time to get myself moving again! I did get on yesterday. Went and chopped my hair off too... AHHHHHHHHHHHH... why did I wait so long???? :Banane20:

Hey All... Mandy... I am so sorry that your DD and your whole family are facing these hard times. I remember the horrible feeling when my dd was admitted for inpatient treatment due to selective mutism and it was such a helpless feeling to watch her go through all of the testing only to once again come up with zero answers. Leaving her at the hospital at age 5 was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. (((Hugs and positive thoughts being sent))) All of her dreams and aspirations can become a reality... especially with a mother as caring and informed as you are. Dianne... WOO HOO... The girls are pointing to heaven and ready to sing AMEN! Congrats and sending healing vibes your way!!! Thanks Kel for updating us! Betty... Yup...things are stressful... going through some other stuff as well but the key word is "going through" which means I get to come out the other side eventually. Didn't do the treadmill Sunday or Monday... and literally grazed and ate all day Monday but feel back on track today. DId 2 miles on the new tready and haven't been grazing at all. DD has piano lessons and a Bandorama tonight so there won't be any chances for snacking this evening! Deb...Yucky... so sorry about the sickness... there is nothing worse than stomach flu in my book... definitely not worthe the weigh-loss that accompanies it! Hope you are feeling better! Irene... Well... glad to have you back girl but sorry you are facing the worry at work. CHange is hard but sometimes it ends up being a blessing in disguise... great things await... that is for sure. Okay... have to go jump into the shower... and run some errands. I have feelers out for jobs... hopefully there will be some return calls for those as well when I return. TTFN

Happy Saturday Everyone... Today is my distance day on my treadmill and I am hjappy to say that my Spirit treadmill stuck in there with me for 4.50 miles and 90 minutes! I am sooooooo happy to have a treadmill again! My daughter has been having some difficutlies with depression... and so Dr. Mom has also prescribed 30 minutes a day on it for her too. SHe was tickled... couldn't wait to get on and do her time this morning. Her grades have been slipping as well so there have been major changes in the way we all work together as a family as well. I have even been communicatiing with Em's Dad... which is a very challenging task for me but we all have to work together to help her help herself. Cindy... I wish I could come and watch the performance! Your DD is going to be awesome! Okay... I stink... off to take a shower and go out and soak up a little sun and hopefully some above 40 degree temps!

Mornin loverly ladies :woot: Betty... Fear of death is a powerful motivator... especially if you see it from a sober state of mind! It would sure be wonderful to see him live out the remainder of his years traveling and living his life... but in the end... only he can make the choice. Helping him through this has really helped both of the boys as for so many years they have felt so helpless to do anything for him. Dianne... I am soooooooooooo glad the collar helped! I can hear the change in your state of mind in your post! (((hugs))) So glad that everything is looking good for the FIL and his super-sized prostate. :woot: Kat... WOW... I can't believe the crazy booger didn't show!!! At least is over and it is just plain crazy that you even had to go through the courts. Jeeze! I hope your Mom has a very quick recovery from her surgery! Often the pain from the surgery minor compared to the joint pain that was happening prior to surgical intervention... at least that is what a lot of patients said after total knee replacements when I worked on ortho floor. Anyhoo... keep us updated... take a deep breath... do something really nice and relaxing for yourself and know that all of your buds here at LPT love ya! Irene... Wow... I am really super jealous of the whole warm weather pool stuff you are enjoying!!!! I especially think you could use your assistant right now. Sherry... I think you should put together a cookbook and send it to all of your good jersey girls for editing purposes. :girl_hug: We are here for ya. I am proud of you for recording your miles! I have to say... having the treadmill in front of a TV has helped me a lot! I just set the speed and pick a show and before you know it... the show is done and so am I! Okay.... treamilled it yesterday and this morning so I would say that I am officially back on track for the exercise. YAY! I was terrified that nearly a week of loafing might have sent me back into Lazyville for good! Have a great day!

Selfish me... I sure do miss you Ryan... I know you are watching over Patty and I pray that gives her more and more strength with each passing day. Hey Gals... Dianne... So sorry things are so stressful. (((hugs))) I know you love dogs... I imagine that their pup has been trained by the lack of training to behave that way. Hang in there... citronella collars work pretty well for barking as well and it's a little easier to watch. I know I about had a nervous breakdown when Ava got nailed from our electronic fence when she crossed the boundry. Do you have an area that you can just let her out off leash for going potty???? It sounds like walking is so "swimingly" fun that she can't take the time for a poo. ((((hugs)))) Betty... How are you feeling??? FIL is doing really well actually. He let the boys help him and is letting them clean and organize his house. This is a great relief as it is really a "fall" trap. Anyhoo... he hasn't taken a drink yet... and he has a full bottle of vodka in the fridge... so who knows... maybe he will opt to remember the remainder of his life? Although we have expressed the desire to see him stop drinking... we have been very clear with him that he has our support regardless of the choice he makes. We just want to make sure he and others are safe so we asked him to be honest about it due to the fact that he still drives. He is walking around the house with ensure plus in his hand instead of a "martini"... I think he really is frightened of dying and really is trying hard to regain his strength for the radiation therapy. Anyhoo... he is a lucky man... his sons love him and take very good care and respect him regarless. We are family... and we all love each other regardless of our individual addictions. Mandy... Your daughter is so lucky to have you... and I imagine there are gazillions of reasons you are lucky to have her. I hope that you are able to get the medication situation worked out and have her on as little medication as possible. Sherry... How's the "Daily Motion Devotion" going???? Chris... See... I knew I was leaving someone out of my other post!!! SORRY! Take er slow with the fella.... you have all of the time in the world to find out who are and who he is and how the two of you are together. Eileenie... I did 2.35 miles on my brand spankin new tready this mornin! Yee HAW!!!! She's a beaut! Oh... I can't hang with the recipes in You on a Diet... but the information was just freaking awesome in that book. I look at labels now for much more meanigful reasons than just calorie or fat content... I am much more aware of why I need to look at lables and why I need or don't need certain foods in my diet. Besides... I've always been a sucker for a man in scrubs. Irene... I miss ya... Kat... 65 DEGREEEESSSSSS.... I'm commin to visit girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are supposed to get up into the 50's this next week so I am really lookin forward to that!!!! Okay... must go... a grapefruit is calling my name. NJloser... (I have lost your name in my brain) I wear my pedometer a lot just to remind myself to be more active. I don't wear it when I exercise so that I know if I am sitting on my hinder too much in between workouts. I have to hook mine on my jean pocket or it doesn't register... I think the roll keeps it from moving...lol. Cindy... Our very own Clever Fairy Princess. Dang monkeys... I think we need to fire them and get some flying llamas.

Hey All... Well... I Miss Eileenie... I guess I took your advice... I went out and bought a new treadmill today. I'll still miss the old gal in the basement... but the glare from the flashing lights on the new one should help distract me. She is being delivered tomorrow and this is after looking at a gazillion different brands and types of treadmills so she should be a perfect fit. Besides... she's a Spirit and yah gotta love that name. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and thoughts. (((hugs))) The boys took my FIL home today... they have spent the entire day there cleaning and organizing and cooking up food for him. I can't help but smile at the thought of them getting to spend and entire day with him as a sober man. That is the blessing and gift and if we get more that will be a big bonus! Snowing here... I know Spring is under the magic white carpet somewhere! Can someone tell me if they have talked to Patty... I am worried about her. Kat... SHerry... Betty... Cindy...Deb... Mandy... Pat... Irene... Dianne... Cassandra... (((hugs))) to you and anyone that I forgot.

Hey All... Tough week... FIL's nodes came back positive and there is one edge of the tumor they removed with the edges undefined. They said it is a particularly agressive cancer. This is all much more complicated by the fact that his boys want so badly to help him and it appears that the only thing really on his mind is getting home to pour himself a drink. How this man was so lucky to have two sons that care so much and give him so much respect. Anyhoo... both boys are going to take care of as much business as possible and make his home as safe as possible while he is still sober. He is refusing to have them spend a couple of days with him at home to help him with food and shopping...etc. We don't know if he will go ahead with radiation or not... if he continues to smoke and drink... I'm not sure what the point of radiation therapy would be. ANyhoo... there is a challenging road ahead for all...but especially for his two boys that love him and deserve to see him sober for more than one week out of 35 years. Love you guys and will get back to doing personals soon... (((hugs)))

Sherry... Try calling it Motion Devotion. Okay... I have Kat at 34 miles and Irene at 24 miles and CIndy at 52 miles... is there anyone else that has miles to add for Feb. totals?????? I will go ahead and post out monthly total and edit it if anyone else pops up with some Motion Devotions. FIL now has a feeding tube down. They are now planning to keep him for a number of days.

    Nj March Chat

Hey Gals... I am keeping track of the miles everyone is posting... WTG Kat, Irene and CIndy!!!!!! I will wait and see if anyone else wants to pop in with a few more to add to our Feb. total! I haven't exercised since Saturday... and feel pretty darn bad about it ...have also been cowing out... but today... that ends. I am not going back to my old ways... I have a half marathon to do and I don't have time for flaking out. So... I am going down after I post this and doing my 3 mile WATP video. FIL is starting to go through DT's which has been a major concern on our minds since the day this surgery was scheduled. He told the surgeon he has one martini a day. AHEM... well... make that 2-3 and make that 8 ounces of straight vodka out of the bottle...filling the glass to the brim without ice. His family MD didn't even tell the surgeon....jeeze. I think they were questioning if we were giving accurate info...until he started the DT's. He also told them he quit smoking one month ago... we disputed that and when they went to get his watch out of his bag for him they were likely to agree considering he stuff reeked of tobacco. So... he is now on Ativan... as he was getting agitated...trying to pull his tubes out... and gown off and was getting pretty beligerant. They are now going to keep him in ICU as I think they are finally realizing that we were not exagerating and that he is in for some serious detox issues. I think we are going to have an interesting and pretty complicated road ahead of us as a family. There must be a gift wrapped up in all of this somewhere... Okay...Love all of you ladies... I need to go get my butt back on the healthy road for my own sanity. Oh...Sherry... finished my vision board. Dianne... I am so sorry about your FIL's fur baby... gosh that's hard. ((((hugs)))) Okay... Okay... Leslie... I'm coming...

Hey Guys... DH's Dad had surgery this morning... not yesterday morning... was in from 8 this AM until 3 PM... he then when to ICU and proceeded to have some problems... they are doing an EEG and I am leaving in a minute to go back to the hospital. Hopefully we'll find out something more. He is an alcoholic and doesn't take care of himself. His nutritional status is poor. THey apparently found the cancerous tumor to be larger than they first thought but think they removed it all and did a graft to his tongue with skin from his inner thigh. THey did a major neck disection to remove lymph nodes as well. Anyhoo... I better get over there... my hubby tried to prepare for anything but that is a pretty impossible when you love someone. TGIF NJ chat!

Happy Sunday Everyone! Well... We sure did awaken to a winter wonderland here in Wisconsin!!!!! Beautiful! While I was out shoveling the back deck and a bit of the yard for the pups... I noticed how much fun Ava was having bouncing and digging and flipping in the snow... so... I joined her! We had a ball! Boy was I glad to have a warm house and a set of dry clothes to get into after! Betty... yeah... the recipes in the book are a little NOT going to happen around here...lol. I am making an effort to add/change and make choices that will lead us in that direction though. I tried the whole wheat pasta... I've got to say... it left a little to be desired...lol. I do however love the whole wheat tortillas and bread... and I look at labels on everything. I made some wonderful muffins today with the whole wheat flour... bananas...raisins... dark chocolate chips... a very small amount of sugar... vanilla... etc... my DH DD loved them. Okay... I rather loved them myself. Sherry... I tried to go to the virtual model site... but I couldn't get the screen to come up for creating mine??? I finally went to Levi's site and made one there but the only choice I had for clothes was jeans. *pout* One day they are going to have a wesite that lets us put a current pic of ourself in... and then through special effects will show our actual self at a lesser weight. WOuldn't that be awesome???? Eileen... Sorry you are feeling puny... try and stick to complex carbs iffin you can. I know you can do anything you set your mind to... strong lady that you are! Kat... I bet you can eat off of your floors now! You probably burned 2,000 or more calories getting all of that cleaning done! I like working with the stability ball for ab exercises. Otherwise you'll never see this girl on the floor crunching away. I'm not sure what to do about our treadmill... I told CHuck what your hubby said and he has checked into that... he also called the treadmill doctor and the only thing really left for us to try is a new board... that would be another 100 bucks or so. Since I have a picture of a NEW sleek... sporty treadmill on my vision board... I am going out on a limb to say... he might want to let old Bessie go...lol. Patty... Seriously... is everything okay... I really would love to see a post and hear what has been happing in your life. (((hugs))) Pat... WHere the heck did those monkey take you anyway???? My FIL is having surgery this coming Tuesday. He has a spot on his tongue that is cancerous but is in the beginning stages. It sounds like it will still be a very difficult recovery as they are taking skin from his inner thigh for grafting onto his tongue and will also be taking as many lymph nodes out of the neck region as they can. Please send prayers or positive thoughts... or both... Love you girls...

Hiya Ladies! Mandy... Girl... I sure hope this round of antibiotics does the trick! Being in the hospital bites! Dianne... Boy oh boy... that nice long hot bath is going to be long overdue... sporting clean undies after will be a bonus! Sherry... I'm glad watching The Secret helped guide you back to a better place. Mine arrived today... so really looking forward to watching it! There are some seemingly effective herbal remedies that are available to help ease the "change" symptoms. Apparently there are also some that claim you can use certain essential oils to ease the syptoms. I guess I would lean more towards the herbal rememdies that have been being used over a long period of time. (((hugs))) Call anytime you need to chat... I always love flapping my lips. Kat... It doesn't sound like you are going to have time to give my dealership the what for! Sorry about the big Ta Do on the 1 yeat B-day. It's the same with Christmas... heck...give them some crumpled up wrapping paper and some ribbons and they are happy as clams at that age! Try to have a little bit of fun. Chris... Holy Cow... that kind of gift would have had me relocating and changing my phone number...lol. Okay... I admit... I was a bit cautious when I was dating....hehehe. I hope you bought something totally beautiful! Cassie... Congrats on the weight-loss! Mary... So sorry about your Aunt and that you won't be able to attent the funeral. Hopefully you'll be able to get your computer fixed and be able to get here and chat more often... we miss seeing ya! Betty... I bet you looked great in your jeans and ponytail... Hope you had a fantastic day! Irene... I think you would be a great teacher... smart... funny... creative... perfect! You are doing a great job with the exercising and good luck with the Carbectomy! I am not counting calories... I am just reading lables... and basically making the healthiest choices I can. I bought "You on a Diet" which does a wonderful job of explaining how our bodies metabolize food and such. I think everyone should read it at least once...especially bariatric surgeons that put their patients on 800 calorie diets. I think it is absolutely malpractice to suggest that type of caloric intake for anyone! Okay... coming off of my soap box now. It's a great read... lots of humor and good info... I would highly rec. it. Eileen... Thanks for the quickie. *wink* Okay... Went and purchased a pair of running shoes today... I even tried to jog on the treadmill tonight but my right knee said... HEY... knock that off! So... I did...lol. I did walk 2 miles though... and the shoes didn't seem to mind. Catch y'all later...

My talented Miss EM has a solo ensemble tonight along with piano lessons this afternoon. I am planning on checking out Target while she is tickling the Ivories to see if I can pick up the killer 4-5 mile WATP video. That will at least keep me challenged while we decide what to do about the treadmill situation. I am also watching Turbo Jam on eBay...have any of you tried those videos??? Anyhoo... we still have the YMCA but I need something for when my family whines and won't go...lol. Oh... lab results came back today...still hypothyroid which accounts for the snail paced weight-loss...lol. WIll be starting the upped dosage in the mornin.
