Sunta... it is very normal to have post-op gas... I know Gas-X did not help me at all... really... the best thing is to get up and walk as much as possible. Call your surgeon if you need a little re-assurance... ((((Hugs)))) Avoid using a straw when you are drinking fluids... it can lead to additional gas in the tummy.

They pump you full of fluids ... don't worry... it's very temporary. I know I had a gain directly post-op as well... it'a a little hard to swallow seeing a gain but try and focus on healing ... the pre-fill stage is not necessarily a big weight-loss time. Welcome to Bandland!

I've never watched that show... sounds like I'm not missing a thing! Thanks for the heads up! I don't want to watch any program that promotes humiliating the obese... lord knows most of us have suffered through enough of that in our own lives! I do have to admit... I had managed to completely stay away from Survivor and this year we happend to get hooked on the reruns on OLN... DANG...I was this [----] close to a clean get away! Other than that I have mangaged to avoid reality TV.

Welcome to Bandland Sunta!!!! Everyday will get easier... sip those fluids and walk as much as you can! My doctor didn't do a baruim swallow afterwards but I'm sure sorry you had to go through the stress of worrying about a leak... so glad everything turned out okay. I've heard of doctors using Lovenox injections after a gastric bypass as a preventative for clots... but again... that was not part of my post-op recovery. Well there is Darcey and my pup didn't even get a chance to track her down! I'm glad you are still here and I am so sorry that you lost your band... BUT... happy to hear that you are on your way to a new banding! I seems it's hardest to post when things are not going as planned... I know it is hard for me to say... I'm failing with a band in place. My head knows that my tool can't be expected to help me without a fill in place but I still feel like a failure. I can eat anything and everything... and am doing just that. :hungry:

Boy Tammy... that really is a golden question that I think the whole world would love to have the answer to. Wouldn't it be awesome if just saying no was the answer? It's a struggle but for me... I notice that the more carbs I eat... the hungrier I am and the more carbs I want. Now... to just figure out how to stop the carb eating cycle? The only thing that I have found to be somewhat helpful for me is to keep ZERO snack type sweets in my house. If I have a craving... I wait... and if the craving doesn't go away or gets worse... I go and get a single serving of whatever I'm wanting. Someday a brilliant scientist is going to come up with a magical pill that allows us to eat all of the carbs that we want without weight-gain... until then... I guess we'll all fight the good fight.

Yep Pat... I became the master of that machine and while I was working at the dealership I got a really fancy machine at cost so the original one is up for bid on eBay. I'm a nervous wreck selling something that expensive on there and have nearly cancelled the listing a hundred times! I know what you mean about slow... unfortunately... I am packing it on rather quickly... it seems like going uphill should be slower! *sigh* On a positive note... at least I have not gained it ALL back yet. Help.

Diane... Are you able to take in any fluids???? Try sipping warm tea or warm broth... you need to stay hydrated. IMHO you need an partial unfill and the sooner the better... so sorry you are going through this!
