    Any help would be appreciated!

Keep calling your Dr. tell them you are PBing on your own saliva that you can not keep anything down. Demand to get in there ASAP. You do not want to become dehydrated then you will need to go to the ER for an IV of liquids. If you do not here from them then I would go to the ER and hope and pray they have someone there in the ER who can give you a slight unfill. ...

    Scared...slip?

Sounds like restriction to me..it takes time to learn what foods you can and can not eat now that you have your fill. it is a proccess of elimination, some can eat cottage cheese, I could. If you continue to PB then you may need a little fill removed. Instead of 1.5 cc's m,aybe go down to 1.3..having as little as .2 cc's removed makes a huge difference in being able to eat solids without PBing but still have restriction. Does Curry not do his fills under fluoro? Ortiz does which makes a huge difference in getting the right fill level, if Curry is doing it blindly then you just may be a tad too tight. Slipped band you would most likely not be able to eat or drink anything without throwing up. What you are experiencing is just a band that may be filled too tight, but again if you continue to throw up you need to have a little fill removed, Pbing often can result in a slipped band.
  3. You and I have the same stats, well I did pre surgery. I also had the same eating habits as you and Iam here to tell you the bandworked for me. In 18 months I lost over 100 lbs. Exactly, not to mention all the side affects that go along with the bypass, malabsorption, dumping. It is not worth the long term risks. If you want it to work , the band will work but you have to work withyour band, it is not a magic wand, only a tool! Do not let anyone talk you out of the band if this is what you truly want. Good Luck

    full liquids

anything that goes through a straw. No chunks!
  7. Of course you can eat these things. Your band is empty. The band works best when it is filled andsince you have no fill is why you can eat these things Wrong, this is the time pre fill to focus on healing any weight loss during the pre fill stage is a bonus and any doctor will tell you this. Read this thread I worte months ago, It will help you to understand a little bit more http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=9148&highlight=for+struggling+new+bandsters Hang in there :girl_hug:

    um QUEstion :D

Chips, crackers are junk foods and all junk foods go down easy regardless of your restriction level. Mashed potatoes and yougurts are soft foods which also regardless of your restriction level go down easy and Soups wel lthat is liquids and liquids go right through the band. As bandsters we are told to stay clear from mushy foods and liquid foods andsoft foods. If you are unable to eat hard Proteins and healthy foods then my guess would be you are a tad too tight. You should always be able to eat healthy solids with your band. This was the rule of thumb with my Dr. if I was too tight to eat good healthy solids then I was too tight. Having just a little like .2 cc's removed makes a huge difference in being able to eat healthy foods and hard proteins. How is your weight loss going? I am curious due to the foods you listed you are able to eat and the foods you are unable to eat. Do you get your 60 grams of Protein in a day?

    Question about restriction

What areyou eating? Are you eatingyour hardproteins first? Then veggies then fruits then carbs? Certain foods give better restriction then others. Stay clear of soft foods andliquid calories, theses kinds of foods offer no restriction. My fills would get tighter over time. Others have said the same thing, the key to thiswhole thing is patience, as long as the scale is moving in the downward direction then things are working but you must also do some of the work and not rely totally on the band itself. Just because you can eat or feel like eating does not mean you should. hang in there ...

    Someone answer this????????

In 2004 Ortiz had a mushy phase. I had surgery with him but since then he has changed nutritionists. He used to have 1 week Clear Liquids, 2 weeks full liquids, 1 week mushy and at the 6 week mark I was allowed solids.

how often do you weigh yourself?

I wiegh myself once a week. Scale obsession can sabotage you. It is your enemy.

    fill & feeling no difference

Be patient, my first fill took a week to kick in. The band does not do all of thework, we still have to do some of thework. I found that certain foods gave memorerestriction then othersdid, keep a check o nwhat you are eating. Follow the rules, hardproteins first, veggies, fruitsthen carbs. DO not drink withyour meals. No sofot foods or liquid calories, results will happen. Track your daily intake, write down everything. The band works if you work withyour band ...hang in there :girl_hug:
  15. what you are feeling is quite normal, I think many of us felt the same way right after surgery. Food has been your best friend for many years. You have made a life changing decision getting your band, but not to worry this shall pass. Food will still be your friend but just in less quantities :girl_hug: . Once you start seeing results your depression will turn into sheer happiness.

    Someone answer this????????

No fill usually means no restriction. the band is designed to be filled to work at its best ability. What you are feeling is normal but I am more concerned with you eating RB two weeks post op. I was not allowed solids for 6 weeks. Who is your Dr? and what is his or her post op diet? Did your doctor tell you the risks of eating solids too soon? You risk your band slipping...is that RB worth it to risk your band slipping? Your band needs to set into place and you need to heal..be wise follow your doctors instructions. This alarms me if you can not follow his instructions right after surgery I hope you have the discipline to walk this journey the band is not a magic wand you need to do alot of the work too. Good luck
  17. Im sorry to hear of your erosion, but I know it is possible for you to maintain your weight loss. I have done it now for the last 11 months. Erosion sucks! If you need a friend or someone who knows how you are feeling feel free to contact me anytime.
  18. My doctor who is a MX doc will not re band until you wait atleast6 months for healing and such. 6 weeksseems awful quick to have another band put in.
  19. Hi Welcome My uncle is in Tulsa, he is the President of TCC ( Tulsa Community College) I wish you the best, hope everything turns out well for you. Big, Deep Sigh....

Tomorrow is a new day Robin, that is the great thing about the band, even though you think you ate alot, really it is now where what you ate pre band. Dont sweat the small stuff we all have or have had days like that and are still here losing the weight. Again, tomorrow is a new day get back on that "band" wagon!

    I joined Weight Watchers today...

Hi Paula Well it has almost been a year saince my band was removed due to erosion. I am still maintianing my weight loss. WW has helped me keep things in check and be accountable. I havle lost 12 lbs with WW. I feel I have beat this thing once and for all for me to keep my weight off for a year and only to have been doing WW for a month I am very proud of myself. It just hit me this week that it has been almost a year..wow how time flies. Honestly, it is a struggle some days and other days it is easy. I still try and live like a bandster by following the bandster rules andliving a bandster lifestyle. I have yet to go back to some old habits I had pre band. I still drink no carbonation..I eat Proteins first then veggies then fruits and if I am still hungry I eat the carbs. I do not drink with my meals. Thankjs for asking about me Pauls, you are always the sweetheart! WW for $12 a week is so worth it to me for the accountability alone. I do not go to the meetings I just use it for the weekly weigh ins--somedays I track my points and some days I dont but as long as the scale is moving in the downward direction Iam happy
  22. they say 1-3 lbs a week is what most doctors will tell you
  23. I wish her the best. I know form my own experience of having my band removed it is possible to maintain the weight loss .I have been doing it for almost a year now. I feel such victory and am so proud of my accomplishment. Losing the weight was huge for me but keeping it off on my own is even bigger. She can do it if she puts her head into it. Kudos to her for wanting to try and deal with her head issues.

    filled to the MAX!!

have you been checked for a leak? Just a thought. never heard of someone being filled ot the max and having NO rerstriction. Something is not right! I would be asking for answers and some tests to be done to make sure all of the 4cc's is in there. I have heard of others having a slow leak or a kink in their tubing. Worth having it checked out.

Sushi without the rice and seaweed paper

for those of you who can do the rice but can not do the seaweed ask them to make your rolls with rice paper, it is less chewy and easier to eat then the seaweed. one of my worst pb's was on the seaweed until I discovered the rice paper
