  1. I was banded on Oct 24 and have lost 36lbs so far. Going on Thursday to get my first fill.

Great! I was banded the same day, just got filled 11/28.... I have 6.4cc in. I'm eating better and what not but honestly the fill isnt enough I dont think, it has not suppressed my appetite that much, only the first 2 days. Kuddos to you though

  2. I was banded on 10/24... I was supposed to start mushies, this coming wednesday but I started before that...I dont actually measure but I dont eat anything bad... I eat salmon (mushy) Broccoli, mashed potatoes, salads, and still drink my Soups & Protein Shakes. I am satisfied with the samller portions because of teh Protein I take in in a day, i drink plenty of Water now as well. I eat every 3-4 hours, or a Protein Shake & a piece of fruit or something. I feel completely fine, like normal for the most part. i go for my first fill 11/27... I was also a self pay and wasnt required to diet for 2 weeks

  3. I created this topic twice, and I dont know how to delete on of them, I was confused for a moment looking for the other comments...

Yes thats a great way to look at it. Personally I just dont think its anyones business. I definitely see your point though nevertheless, my husband is aware and he is the only one. I have battled with my weight long enough & have lost weight multiple times, so I figure they will assume, its just another one of those "diets" Im on & no one will ever suspect anyway. I just dont want anyone thinking I took the "easy" way out...

  4. Oh no I am so sorry to hear that. were u getting ur fills within those 5 years? My issue is I just dont want anyone thinking I took the easy way out. I feel like I've battled with my weight long enough & since I've lost weight multiple times, I'm guessing no one will assume I had anything done, so I'm sure I will be successful as far as keeping it to myself

  5. HI,

Im new here. I unfortunately was not approved by insurance, I am a self pay. Apparently I was big but not big enough :) I am 5'3 and was carrying around 215lbs (not my heaviest) at the time I decided to get banded. My journey was a little different. I was recently banded in houston Texas, by Dr. Hollis on 10/24/12. I only lost a pound during pre op b/c I didn't diet. My surgeon was pissed, but I explained to him, I wanted to enjoy my last 2 weeks, eating what I consider to be normal & not spend it dieting, since I have to change the way I eat for pretty much the rest of my life. Unhappy but nevertheless, I was paying so he performed the surgery & everything went well. I'm approaching two week post op, on the 14th & I'm currently at 207. My scarring in minimal at this point except the one bigger incision its still very noticable. I still have some swelling at that insicion sight as well, and a little discomfort becuase my bra often rubs that area, when I am sitting. I go for my first follow up & my first fill on the 27th. I'm excited, because I'm ready to see the band actually work for me.
