  1. I don't mean this offensively' date=' but you are reading completely incorrect information. The Lap Band doesn't cause dumping because our stomachs are fully intact and our intestines aren't rerouted. Dumping is common with Gastric Bypass because the intestines are rerouted, resulting in the rapid passage of undigested food into them. This isn't the case with the band and it's not a side effect of the band.

Perhaps you're confusing Gastric Bypass with Gastric Banding, I d on't know, but whatever you're reading is completely incorrect.[/quote']

That's funny because my surgeon just called mE back and yes you can get dumping with the lapband and he said that's exactly what I had happen

  2. Sounds like something I wouldn't play around with. Call your surgeon or WLC asap.

I'm feeling better today just kind of worn out. I have an appointment Tuesday and I'll be talking to her about what happened for sure because I keep reading that 80 percent of banded people can get dumping syndrome and all my symptoms were dumping symptoms

  3. Not standing up for anyone just sayin what I see :) don't allow others you don't know or who do not know you get under your skin it's the internet who cares what others think I definitely don't! Little do they know I could be a beautiful famous super model they have no clue who I am and again I do not care!

I was started on mush food 7 days part OP solids at three weeks I haven't been hungry once since surgery I still have troubles eating and I'm almost a month post OP first fill is Tuesday.. Everyone has questions and would rather get answers from people who have been thru the surgery it didn't make anyone less or more.. Oh and the band masters just means they have more time to sit on there asses responding than others ;) Get off the computer and Get in the gym just maybe you'll be a successful bander :)

Fyi it's the internet some people love to bully, be know it alls, hide behind the keyboard run forums because it makes them feel better and raise there self esteems. Brush it off you did this for you and only you, it's a public forum anyone is allowed on here to post freely. Some have more time on there hands than others due to having no life...

  6. Sooooo I was banded July 2 and I've lost 49 pounds. So about 2 years ago' date=' I bought this beautiful dress and it totally didn't fit! Way too small but I loved it so much that I wanted to buy it anyway!

Soooooo when I was banded, I made two short term goals: get under 250 (started at 297) and where that that dress for a night out with my husband on our 2nd anniversary sept 19! I hadn't not gone under 250 in many many years and I figured by that weight, the dress would fit.

Well.... I weighed in at 249 and wore the dress out for our anniversary! It felt soooooooo good!! I'm only 1/3 of the way to my final goal...but these little accomplishments help push me along! Praise God!

I'm attaching a pic of me in the dress before going out! :)

Beautiful and congrats... How tall are you? Whats your goal? I'm 5 10 started at 293 & this morning I Was 251 banded August 28 my goal is 160 maybe 150

  7. Last night about an hour after eating that I got severe like the worst possible I've ever felt stomach pains.and intestinal cramping, sweating, my heart was racing, I could heart my heart beat in my ears , felt nascious, dizzy light headed shakey I literally felt the worst I've ever felt I'm my entire life it lasted a few hours if it's not dumping than what could it be????

  8. You got banded 2 days before I did ... I was told that you don't get a full until 6 weeks post op your bit supposed to be eatting regular food right now you should be at stage 3 which is purée foods .. Which Is thicker consistency than liquids .. Theres nothing in ur band and the swelling is going down from surery which is why u feel more hungry ... Doesn't your doctor tell u this stuff ? Just courious as to why ur already calling for a fill ? When u still need to get to stage 4 soft foods and stage 5 regular textured foods ?

Every Dr is different I was on solids three weeks post OP even though i don't eat much and usually stay with softer food and with my first fill at exactly four weeks.. I say follow your drs plan and you'll do great!
