  1. I use Vitamin e oil 5000 mg in the shower before I get out then air dry it has made a world of difference with the dry skin.

I also wash my hair every other day or go three days as it is not oily. I take 50000 mcg of Biotin and don't seem to have much fallout and I am 2.5 months out. Because we wont be absorbing most of what we eat the issues of dry skin , hair and nails will haunt us for a long while. The Hair loss eases up with time. YOu can take lots of Biotin because you pee out what you don't use.

  2. It's a shame that members are leaving this group over this silly nonsense. Aren't we all mature adults? I also disagree with any form of bullying or degrading. Many of us have already had to deal with this with way too many people in our lives' date=' we don't need that type of treatment on here too. This is a support forum. There has to be respect. With that said, I believe we should also be honest with one another and definitely give constructive criticism. Maybe some of us are too sensitive for any type of criticism and I can understand where you're coming from. It can feel awful to feel judged when you've been criticized and judged all or most of your life. However, members should not feel like they're walking on eggshells and/or be afraid to ask questions or make comments. I have only come across one member who was rude with another and believe me, the member on the receiving end let him have it. Not only that, many members came to her defense and did too and I haven't seen him on since. He may have deserved it (the person who defended herself for days, lol) but don't you think he was also bullied right out of the forum too? It's ridiculous. We shouldn't behave this way. All you have to do is ignore negative comments, that's all. We can give feedback with respect and tactfulness. I also used to post every night what I had for dinner but I stopped and now just read what others post for dinner. My dinner is a lot of the same stuff. I'm on soft foods. I don't experiment much. I do know that when I did post I preferred for someone to ask me or give me feedback on what I'm eating than to just lie or stay quiet even if they think or know that what I've eaten might not be the best choice. I use fitness pal and log my foods on there and have added friends from this forum. They can view my diary and I honestly welcome all feedback which so far has been all positive. Why can't we all just get along? To the sarcastic ones, you guys make me laugh. I know better than to get offended that easily and I know most of you just speak your minds...I like what you see is what you get type of people...I appreciate the humor. :D Now, can we get back to just posting what we had for dinner tonight? I love them recipes, keep 'em coming! :) [/quote']

Thank you, you have expressed what I've been trying to unsuccessfully...thank you again.....

  3. There is a rather large difference in 'constructive criticism' and 'obnoxiousness'. We should welcome constructive criticism' date=' as we can learn from each others experiences. The sarcastic and obnoxious comments, however, are uncalled for. This is a support forum, not a 'lets see how much of a douchewaffle I can be to people' forum.[/quote']

    Douchewaffle.....great word

  4. I think this kind of encouragement of public judgment degration and bullying is unacceptable. Because someone made a bad choice does not give anyone else the right to degrade them in public.

People shouldn't post there bad choices on a "public" forum. I certainly don't post my poor choices I am far from perfection.

If I did then I deserve comments and constructive critisim from my peers for sabotaging my WLS. When did we start rewarding people for failure?

If a person has a issue ( i.e., trigger, trauma or whatever makes he/she eat) they need to seek help. WLS is a tool not a therapists. Many people slip through the cracks or manipulate the system to get this procedure only fail because of an unresolved underlying issue. I have been positive and helpful on this forum for over 390 posts. Just because I think some of these comments are humerous, sarcastic and funny does nor make me a bully, judgememtal or degredating. Maybe the sensitivity button should be turned down a knotch or maybe some need to laugh about themselves occasionally?!

  5. I'm sorry' date=' I don't mean to sound like a jerk so please don't take this as anything other than general concern for your success but why on earth if you are still on liquids would you try to eat garlic bread? ? I am over 4 months post op and still haven't eaten something like that (I am not holier-than-thou, I have made my fair share of less than perfect choices). And soda? You need to get that out of your house if it is a trigger for you. I know it's hard to change, but if you want any sort of success from this surgery, you need to follow the rules. Not only will you not lose weight but you could seriously hurt yourself eating bread & drinking soda so early out.[/quote']

I LOVE YOU.........get ready for the sphincter police they will lambast you for that comment. I could not agree with you more.....

  6. My surgery is this Thursday and I have been fine up till now... Holy moly am I a bundle of nerves all of a sudden! I keep worrying that something isn't going to go well and my surgery will get canceled or I won't end up with the bypass.

My latest fear is having too much scar tissue under my band and having to wait till it heals to get the bypass. I will be absolutely devastated if I wake up from surgery simply band less. I understand this would be for my health' date=' but it would kind of feel like I had the procedure for nothing. I'm so scared. Please pray all goes well these next few days and in surgery. I'm so nervous that I can't focus on anything else. I just want to get to Thursday, have my operation, and know its all done. No band, have my bypass, and on to my new life. I don't know how if handle having to wait even longer.[/quote']

Wannabeawifey I did have a ton of scar tissue and adhesions and still awoke with a bypass. Every surgeon is different some get the band removed heal and then bypass some get a conversion all in one. Whatever he/she decides when they are in will be the right thing for you:-) Hang in there.

  7. I was searching scars and bikinis and stumbled upon this thread.

WOW this above comment has been one of my nightmares.... and some might think it is "fair game" to ask this question.... LIKE EVERYONE IN MY LIFE.

    To Irshangel:

Like you' date=' I too am a Yo-Yo-er. My surgery is in 3 days. I will be under 200 lbs that day.

It didn't bother me to read this comment in the forum. I'm actually glad to see someone asked it, and way happier to see the responses to it.

It is no one's business but my doctor's why I have made this choice. It was not done on a whim and I am not a dummy. But this comment really gets under my skin because there's so much judgement packed in the punch.[/quote']

I give them kudos for being bold to ask the question they were curious this forum needs to back off in the being so freakin sensitive we ALL have our reasons and issues for why had surgery, be it a few pounds or hundreds of pounds. At least they prefaced the comment by I don't mean to sound mean. I got lambasted by being honest awhile back. You shouldn't have to walk on egg shells on this forum. We are all grown ups we can handle some constructive criticism. I don't think any of us take the truth well including myself. Please my comment is not written to start a blog/forum war....
