  1. If u r willing to stay the same maybe u should rethink this decision. We all loved our sweets, drinks but loving those things got us right here. I don't know about anyone else as for me,the old person with bad eating habits is going to stay in the OR, anew person will be rolling into recovery. Lol Really is a piece of cake or drink worth your health? If so continue as u are. I don't mean to sound mean, but this weight has cheated us. Your taste buds are going to change, the food u loved prior to surgery u may not want anyway. Good luck, but think hard the new person inside of u full of life energy is counting on u.

  2. The point of doing this is to ensure you get enough nutrients, so u will not hve to go back to hospital and hve complications. Our nut says 30-20-30 which means no Water 30 b4 meals, 20 mintues to eat meal, and no water 30 min. Remember u hve to commit to the process no matter how hard, but we ate all here for u. You can do this.

  3. I have had blood clots after hip surgery. My doc requires everyone to go on blood thinners after surgery. I am going to my doc on Fri and I am going to ask him about the plan for this. Although I do have a filter inside me so no clots will move up. You need to feel comfortable call regarding your concerns.

  4. This process allows you to see yourself as you really are. I have noticed since I made up my mind to have surgery I look in the mirror and see how large I have gotten. I thank God for the revealtion. For those of us who are on this path we all have to look at the facts understand where we are and where we are going. If you dont get that then you may need to reassess your decision. You have support here this process has ups and downs, enjoy the ride and renew your mind to the new you. Concentrate what you will be able to do and accomplish, this is a gift. There are people who need and cannot afford this (no money no insurance). I looked at myself in the mirror the other day and I looked like the good year blemps grandmother (hugh) lol. Thank god i see myself as I really am. In need of VSG Sweetheart it does not matter where we start, but it does matter where we end up. Good Luck P.S. take the time to learn as much as you can about your triggers and how you plan to eat in the future get ready for battle! Success is yours if you want it.

  5. I have been married for over 20 years. When I began this journey I did not tell my husband I feel it is an individual decision. This process takes time to emotionally rap your mind around everything. Until I was confident that I was going to commit to the process and the surgery then I sat my husband down told him I was going to have surgery on 10/29/12. I explain my reasoning to have it, my research, my doctor's opinion and the length of time I had already invested in the possibility. He understood and realized that he too was about to embark on a journey. For me that was an acceptable initial response. I am sure as I go through the process Protein Shakes and me literally changing before his eyes will either bring out his acceptance or insecurities for us both I am aware that this could breakup the relationship. Why? Because after the surgery a new person will emerge, a person who has been hidden for a long time. For me the person who will check in at the hospital will not be seen again a new person will be checking out. The core of who I am will only remain. The new body will begin to emerge. I forgot to mention I only told my two best friends. Today a few more people know ( my sis, my son and daughter). Others will know after surgery, and there are others who will only know I am on a great weight loss program that is finally working lol. Make no mistake about it this decision will enhance what you have or not. For me it is a scarific worth risking. Its about a new healthier life for me. Good luck appreciate comments.
