  1. It appears they've changed the chat options again and taken away the option to create a room so I couldn't figure out how to create a July Butterflies room. It doesn't appear anyone's in the chit chat room so we can always use that room. Anyway, I have an appointment so I need to run for now. CBL:tongue:
  2. I just typed up a long thank you note to Janet for reminding us to the true key to success and "poof" the forum sent it into never never land! Argh Anyway, thanks a bunch Janet.
  3. I'll open up an 11 AM Central/ 12 PM Eastern chat room entitled "July Butterflies" for those interested in popping in.
  4. Welcome back New Mama and congrats on your phenomenal weight loss!!! :w00t: It seems it happens to everyone at some point or the other. I've heard starting at about the 4th month and then tapering off after 6 months. I've also heard it grows back. Many here keep saying protein, biotin, etc., but the consensus seems to be that NOTHING you do will stop the hair loss (related to weight loss and the stress it puts on the body). Once your body adjusts to the stress of losing weight, the hair stops falling out and as long as you aren't predisposed to baldness, it all comes back. I use a Centrum orange flavored chewable multi-vitamin which isn't bad at all. I can only find them at CVS. I've heard it here and at my doctor's office. It makes perfect sense.
  5. You look great! What do you mean by "Time to move on"? Are you saying that now you've reached goal you are abandoning the rest of us who are still on our journey? We need successful experienced banders to continue to be on this site to help us through the rough spots and more importantly to motivate us. When I see the successful b/a pics, it really keeps me going. My weight loss has been excrutiatingly slow so I need all the motivation I can get. I have to say it again, YOU LOOK GREAT!!!
  6. Yes you are but that's to be expected under these circumstances. As for knowing our surgeons well, I personally don't know mine very well. When I have interacted with him post-op, he's been friendly but like most doctors, very rushed. I think many here have similar experiences. Some have worse and some better. My doctor said I could resume sexual activity as soon as I felt like it, including the same night of surgery. I didn't have a hiatal hernia though so I don't know if that makes a difference.
  7. The things we crave once we're sworn off all "real food" is bizarre.
  8. Hi 1day. It's nice to hear from you again. I hope the restriction sticks. It seems the right level is a very, very fine line and one that can come and go.
  9. This is the most logical sounding advice I've seen on LBT.
  10. Argh! I just typed up a long post and when I hit “send” the site decided to freeze up and send my response to never never land! I hate it when that happens! Anyway, thanks for noticing the weight loss Shrinknme. I note every .5 lb down. I’d note even less if my scale measured it. The weather in Houston was phenomenal today. It was a very cool and crisp fall day with virtually no humidity to speak of. The sun was blazing all day without a cloud in the sky. The only down side was that I was stuck in the office. I’m debating whether I should get another fill. I’ve had 4 so far and my last fill was 3 weeks ago for a total of 4.5 cc in an 8 cc band. I can eat more at meals and experiencing hunger more frequently between meals. The reason I hesitate is that the first week after my last fill, I could only eat a couple of bites at a time but was still hungry. I stopped eating though because I had that tight feeling in my chest. I was very unhappy and tempted to turn to slider foods. I refrained for the most part. I thought once you get to your “sweet spot” the hunger pangs are supposed to go away. To date, that has not happened. My TOM is scheduled to visit this weekend so I think I’ll wait until after she leaves to see if I need another fill.
  11. Tapshoes, it wasn't just you. Here's the e-mail I got from Alex today: Me too! We’re working on it. Best Regards, Alex From: Donna Sent: Tuesday, October 28, 2008 11:16 AM To: Alex Subject: RE: LBT completely down this morning? Good morning Alex. I'm having withdrawals.. when will it come back up? Thanks, Donna
  12. So... you're saying it's my fault?
  13. Renewed, I'm so thrilled for you. Your journey is very motivating and helps me when I'm feeling frustrated at the slowness of my weight loss.
  14. I LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE Boston Legal. Bar none, the funniests show on TV.
  15. I've never had a BF or DH that wasn't jealous. As I get older, I find jealousy a real pain in the arse.
  16. Question - How many of you started posting to a thread started in the month of your banding (e.g. "July Butterflies Master Thread") and still continue to post to that thread and/or is the thread still active? It's only been 3 months and July Butterflies thread already seems to be dying despite my best efforts. *sigh* I've decided I'll post every day anyway and maybe just start using it as my personal blog page.
  17. Fanny, I have only 1 thing to say... YOWZA!
  18. It's LBT - I asked Alex and he referred me to this announcement. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f18/announcements.html I am SOOOO jealous. I'm eating my heart out right now. You'll have to update your sig.
  19. Took the words right out of my mouth!
  20. I've ALWAYS been a card carrying member of this club (much to my dismay).
  21. Ain't love grand?!?
  22.:w00t: I bet that made you feel like you were floating on cloud 9! :w00t::w00t::w00t: My "zoom" is scheduled for 11/7. First time for a zoom treatment so not sure how white it will get my teeth. I had a smoking habit for 20 years.
  23. Fanny, so now you can officially refer to him as BF? Remember, post as much detail as you are comfortable posting. We married ladies have to live vicariously through you single flirts!
  24. That is too bad. But just think, when it's all done, you will be smokin'!
