I have nails that are well, tough as nails. Yes, I have noticed that they break more easily now.

PJTP: I love mineral foundation! Had been going bare because I can't stand to wear foundation and finally decided to try minerals (went with the more economical Maybelline version from Walgreens). I love it, love it, love it! Doesn't feel like I have anything on but gives me great coverage nonetheless. Have been wearing it for just a couple of days and people are telling me I am glowing! :wink:

I had a friend who joined WW years ago and lost 60 lbs counting calories. She does it to this day and has kept her weight off. It works well for some but I think it's strongly related to personalities. Like Car said, different strokes for different folks. As for me, my counting calories lasted for 4 days post op. Over the years I tried to do the calorie counting thing on many different diets and could never keep up with the food diary for more than 10 days. That's why I love the band. It controls the portions and I control the type of food.

PJTP: They actually closed down some roads here in Houston because it's icy? Now, I've lived in the South, the West, and the North and Northeast, and I've never heard of that before! Anyway, I have another hour or so before I can go in since the roads are closed, right?

Janet, I love the pics from days gone by. I wouldn't mind bringing back that style -- women in pretty dresses, men in chinos, girls and boys dressed in child versions of their parents. Somehow, everyone just looks more "put together".

crzytchr - I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I've only experienced a migraine headache a few times in my life and it was so debilitating I couldn't even move without throwing up. You are a strong person to be able to teach kids with a migraine. When I have a simple headache, my own kids are intolerable. I hope your surgery goes well and your recovery quick. Orea - I'm sending postiive thoughts your way. Keep thinking positive about a great job for your DH. shrinknme - I hope you have a great trip overseas. Can't you still get on the internet where you're going? We'll miss you.

Since you're in the medical field, isn't there some sort of requirement that you have to be on call 24/7 and respond for requests to come in within a specific time period? Maybe that's just for doctors?

When you get the head hunger thing that urges you to eat (usually bad foods at that), drink some water instead. If that doesn't make it go away, do jumping jacks and "feel" your body cringing under your excess weight and that should help shut that craving up.

Beth, not trying to piss you off or sound catty, but if you drank those for several years and still needed the band, maybe you should stop drinking them now? <ducking head and running for the door>

Fanny - so glad to hear you weren't hurt and the damage to the car is cosmetic (though costly). It's a pure miracle you weren't killed. Da*& punk kid! Lulu - so jealous you have snow, all we have is a very wet and cold day in Houston--temps hovering between 35 and 40 with non-stop gentle rain. My kids are willing the rain to turn to snow.

Since I haven't been working out, it doesn't bother me when I don't work out. He he In all seriousness, if I sleep on my stomach I notice it's sore in the morning. I try not to sleep on my stomach but sometimes my body does its own thing while my mind is in dreamland.

guinea pigs are fat rats! yeck! i have a pathological fear of rats. when i was 10, my older sis brought home a guinea pig in a cage and my smart cat figured out how to open it and get that damned rat! no more rats parading around as pets in our house after that! ha!

I'm a salsa girl myself. If I get the good stuff, I can just drink it down! I wasn't a huge fan of salsa until I moved to Texas and found out that only TexMex people can make it right. :angry_smile:
