  1. Ya talkin' to me? I'm the best shoe dodger around. Had a crazy mom who loved to throw shoes. I learned to duck pretty well by the age of 5. Got older, learned to catch it and throw it back! Believe me, you don't want to get in that contest.
  2. Does anyone have a Utube of the shoe dodging? I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard so much about it, I'm dying to see it.
  3. Argh! Let's get over it already! We're all entitled to our opinions and this thread is all about venting so you should never tell someone to keep their opinion to themselves. Of course, you are entitled to ignore any comments/opinions you have an issue with -- but it's plain unconstitutional to tell someone to keep their opinions to themselves -- ever heard of free speech? If you don't like people stating their opinion, I suggest moving to China. There people are incentivized to keep their mouths shut.
  4. Nightmare - is it worse than being bored? The tension is about the fact that my ticker won't show up!!! At least I'm tense about it!
  5. SickNtired - c'mon now, this thread is a lovefest. We all take the comments on here with a grain of salt. We're all opinionated but that's what makes this so much fun. Hugs & Kisses
  6. Yes, I notice recently it's a bit more difficult to find so when that happens I get Triple Leaf Dieter's Tea--has pretty much the same effect.
  7. PMS? Didn't notice any hate until a 3rd party jumped in.
  8. Mac- all the more reason it's funny he's prettier than her. he he Fanny - good to see you back. I've missed your posts.
  9. Now I feel like singing "I'm so vain, I bet she sang that song about me..." BTW, WTG! It's that taxing time of the year and it's a good thing we have people like you to help us!
  10. Of course Aubrie, we don't know your dad, but sometimes, being a close relative makes us over analyze everything they say to us. I'd take it like xxlaneyxx suggests. I personally like the quote too because it shows an attitude of "live life to the fullest."
  11. You must be a guy!
  12. Oprah said something today that finally speaks for me! "A lot of people get promoted to managerial positions because they were so good at what they did, but they suck at it [being managers]"
  13. My doc said it's because the band causes restriction in our esophagus which traps air and cause pockets of air to be trapped.
  14. ColoradoChick - you talkin' to me? Yeah, sometimes my posts can seem a bit like I'm showing off, so it's cool to call me on it. So long as it's constructive, I can only grow through the experience, right?
  15. Jetsy62, you go girl! You will make it. I know about the nagging feeling this isn't going to work (all the yo yo dieting really did a number on me). I still have moments like that, but it's those NSVs and the scale moving in the right direction (regardless of how little the movement) that renews my hope. I AM GOING TO MAKE IT! YOU ARE TOO!
  16. Zing! On a similar vein, how many Okies have you met?
  17. Sadie, you put a new "tough" into tough love... I love your line "One M&M is too many and a thousand is not enough!"
  18. I'm a lot happier for all the reasons the other posters have stated earlier but the HAPPIEST part is that food no longer controls me. If I'm busy, I "forget" to eat. That hasn't happened in so many years. So far I've only lost 30 lbs but what a difference that has made for me both physically and mentally. Again, the best part is food no longer controls me.
  19. I can't wait until that happens! I have clothes in my closet of various sizes and right now I'm kinda "in-between" anything that fits well. Because I was so in denial over gaining weight, I wouldn't buy bigger clothes until the clothes got so tight, it was life threatening. So now, I've donated several items that got too big but find the remaining clothes are still a bit too tight.
  20. I'm 5 months out and I had a lot of gas after banding (not smelly, just a lot of air). I notice though in the past couple of weeks, it seems to have settled down quite a bit.
  21. Dr. Fran, glad to hear it all worked out.
  22. I'm 5 months out and I've only experienced that painful feeling when I ate too fast or had one bit too much. Since my 5th fill, it hasn't happened at all. I think mostly because I'm very careful to chew thoroughly and I haven't overeaten since the last fill because my appetite has decreased way down.
  23. I'm 5 months out but remember well how hungry I was a few days after banding. Until you get your fills, you may well stay hungry. It took until my 3rd fill 2 months out for me get the hunger to a manageable level, 4th fill helped a lot and at 5th fill I think I'm very close to "sweet spot." Most bandsters here will tell you it takes several fills so don't get discouraged and do your best to control portions--eventually, the band will help but until then, it can be difficult. The key is not to give up and stick to the rules. AVOID high cal/low nutrition foods. Protein also helps to control hunger. Try to get it from solids when you move on to solid stage.
  24. Triple Leaf Super Slimming Tea works very well. It's very gentle and does not have any ill side effects. Drink a cup right before bed and when you wake up in the morning, you're literally good to go.
  25. I've experienced acid reflux only once when I went to bed Thanksgiving night. It was all because I had one bite of stuffing right before bed and in the lying down position, it couldn't or didn't go down. Since that episode, I don't even have a bite of anything within 1 hour of going to bed and haven't experienced it since.
