July Butterflies Master Thread
I found mine in the snack section. It's kind of hard to describe the taste but I'll try. It's a little salty, crunchy and mild flavored. It's not exactly mouthwatering, but it sure does satisfy the craving for chips or popcorn and I find a 1/4 cup VERY filling. For 130 calories, it really can't be beat.

Susan - YAY on the 7 lb weight loss! I'm thinking of the 5 day pouch test myself. I've done it twice before but only lost an average of 3 lbs each time. I know, I know -- learn to multi-quote...

There is a thread on LBT where WasABubbleButt would copy and paste some of the grossest things from OH. It almost made me pass out reading them.

Charlene, I found mine at Costco but it looks like there are several sources online. Also, you might want to check HEB, if they don't have it, I'm sure they'll be happy to start stocking it. With the health craze and all the touted benefits of soybeans, I'm sure it will be available in most grocery stores soon.

I give up!!
CapitalOne also has medical/dental loans available. Their rates usually beat out others. Of course, everything is dependent on credit rating.

Should prostitution be legal?
Pattygreen, are you claiming that only Christians who believe the Bible is the Word of God are the only people in the world who are moral? Have you ever heard, engage brain prior to opening mouth? In this case, letting your fingers loose on an unsuspecting forum?

Getting tighter as time passes
The 5 day pouch test is 2 days liquids, 2 days mushies and 5th day easing into soft solid. If you click on the link in my original post, it will take you to the website with full description, sample menu and recipes.

Getting tighter as time passes
This is for the OP -- your pouch may be irritated and once it gets irritated, if you don't allow it to recover fully, every time you eat anything solid, you just irritate it further. It's cumulative. Why don't you try the 5 Day Pouch Test to give your pouch a chance to rest and recover? Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test

10 days post op and EATING!
I didn't feel much restriction until my 4th fill about 4 months out; that wasn't quite enough and my 5th fill about 5 months out finally gave me enough restriction that I began to understand what people meant by the "sweet spot". You will stay hungry for about the first 2 weeks or so until your stomach gets adjusted to the new limited amounts. After that, you will still have head hunger issues until you reach the "sweet spot". Once at the sweet spot, even if you crave something and give in, just a small amount goes a long way. Of course that doesn't apply to "liquid" food. I had a lot of questions and doubts initially because I really did think this was the easy way out prior to surgery. I was self-pay so I didn't have to jump through all the hoops and go through all the classes, etc. Had I done so, I might not have gone through the surgery. Now, I am so glad I did go through with the surgery but I admit I went through it blind. In looking back, I realize the first 3 months were the toughest because the band isn't doing its part during that time. Don't fool yourselves into thinking you can get bigger fills to get more restriction early -- that's a dangerous road to erosion. Let your mindy, body and band have the time it needs to get to know each other and become a healthy team.

LJM - Sorry you're on enforced hospital bed rest. The bright side, it should help with the stress since the docs and nurses are there to make sure you and the babe are constantly monitored. SNT - I've been contemplating a cut too. My hair is halfway down my back but every time I mention cutting it my DH makes his "Nazi" face. Alas, sensitivity training only taught me to be an equal opportunity abuser. he he

Band Erosions
Aperfectwom, what a great post. Thanks especially for the statistics. I appreciate that you didn't list the reasons, but urged people to do their own research and to try to eliminate those behaviors that could potentially cause erosion.

Yeah, the e-mail notifications haven't been sent from LBT since yesterday. I'm glad to hear you got another fill and are feeling more restriction. I've found when at the proper restriction level, you rarely feel funger and when you do, just a little bit goes a long way.

Quitting w/ E-cig for Lap Band
I quit after smoking for 20 years with Chantix, too! The only side effect I had was more vivid dreams. Initially I experienced unusual drowsiness in the evenings the first couple of weeks but that passed. My husband also successfully quit on Chantix. It was truly painless and effortless.

Pouch Test or diet?
It's the same thing. I've done it a couple of times and lost approx. 3 lbs each time. It's probably something you should do right after a fill and if you feel you need another fill, do it before going for a fill because many experience a renewed tightness in the band after the the 5 Day Pouch Test. I found it easy to do think it's probably a good idea to do during plateaus as well.

Have to confess, I also had the same thought. :grouphug:

Problem with really cold liquids?
Yes, I got the "stuck" feeling (although never had to PB) when drinking very cold liquids after my 5th fill. It's been about 6 weeks since my 5th fill and I still am happy with my retriction level but I notice I can drink cold liquids now without getting "stuck". If I try to gulp too fast, regardless of whether it's cold or room temperature, then I still get "stuck". Luckily with liquids, it passes relatively quickly if you walk around.
