  1. Stress can certainly contribute to random tightness. I just had to get a slight unfill yesterday because I was too tight. I didn't think I was too tight since I could eat and drink with no problems during the day but I started experienced acid reflux at night and that was my only indication that something was wrong. The doc took out .5 cc and voila! I'm all better now.
  2. What a great NSV, Tina. WTG  Sash, I love the beautiful doggie in your profile pic. Is he/she yours? What breed is it?
  3. Awww RSG, I'm sorry. You haven't failed; you've lost nearly 70 lbs in 1 year. That's an awesome accomplishment! You lost it and you didn't regain it, that's an even better accomplishment. It's been 6 months and I've lost 35 lbs. I won't lie, I'm disappointed with it and it's not at all what I thought I'd have accomplished by now, but hey, it is what it is. It's a loss and it's a loss that won't come back. I didn't gain all this weight in one year so if it takes me 2 or 3 years to lose it all, then that's fine because every year, the starting point is a smaller starting point. Without the band, who knows where my weight would be now? YOU CAN DO IT. I CAN DO IT. WE WILL DO IT!!!
  4. What's up? Why don't you post anymore?
  5. I'm a step-granny. I have 7 grandchildren. My oldest stepdaughter is only 3 years younger than me. Yes, I have one of those DHs. LOL
  6. Lacey, congrats on the phenomenal progress you've made so far. I'm sorry to hear you may be having some issues. Your doctor certainly seems to be taking a very cautious and conservative approach. Anyway, the unfill will give you a bit of a break so that's good. I hope it's just a matter of being a bit too tight and that you'll be able to get back on the "band" wagon in no time.
  7. I slept through the night with no acid reflux. This band we have is a strange thing. I did not feel too tight and could eat and drink anything. The only indication something wasn't quite right was the acid reflux at night a full month and 1/2 after the last fill. Anyway, having that .5 cc taken out (which was the amount of the last fill) did the trick and I feel great. I also have a much stronger appetite as well. Mango, I hope everything is OK with your band. Even if you have to pay cash for the fluoro, I think it'd be worth it if you can somehow scrape the cash together.
  8. I can definitely tell a big difference but I would have sworn to you before that I was not too tight and the only time I had problems were with the acid reflux at night a full month and a 1/2 after the last fill. Anyway I slept through the night last night with no problems so I'm a very happy camper this morning! WTG on the mentor program! It's sad when circumstances make it difficult to rejoice in something that should be joyous news. Having the child will certainly be a reality check for her. Maybe it will even make her realize she needs to kick the loser BF to the curb.

  10. For the first time in 2 weeks I slept through the night without being awakened by acid reflux. It's so nice to be back to "normal."
  11. Congratulations shrinknme!
  12. Thanks ladies. I'm looking forward sleeping tonight. That will be the true test on whether this works!
  13. shrinknme - Congratulations (I think?) and I'll be sending up prayers for you to any God or Godess listening.
  14. I'll scan it at work next Monday and try to post it here then.
  15. The doctor said I was too tight and took out .5 cc which took me down to 4.5. He said I'd lost 12 lbs since my last visit on 12/2 and was happy that I'd lost an overall 35 lbs since my surgery date in July. He said that was a good rate of loss for me. I told him of the 12 lbs lost, that the majority of that was by Christmas and I've only lost about 1 or 2 lbs since Christmas. He raised his eyebrows at that and said I need to be keeping a food diary because I shouldn't have had a stall for that long. He said my band probably tightened up since I've been under stress. He told me wait until the stress goes down and I feel back to normal and we'll recheck to see if I need another adjustment. He said the pouch looked fine and there was no dilation or slippage. He gave me the picture to take home with me.

  19. Just heading out to the doctor's office now. I've been sleeping propped up with pillows the past couple of nights so I haven't had a repeat of the throwing up bile but I've got one bad crick in my neck! I'll post as soon I'm back to let you all know what the doc says/does.
  20. Heck, if I had a body like that, I'd show it off as much as possible (within appropriate limits). :bananalama:
  21. lovegrapes - I came up with my goal weight based on the BMI chart as well. As a generic starting point, it makes sense but as we get closer to goal, I think we all need to reassess what that goal weight should be. For some it will be less and for some it will be more.
  22. Stay strong Tina. I'm very proud of you for having the temerity to pursue happiness, even when it's the scariest option.
  23. Tap - you must work at my company. :cursing:
  24. Thanks everyone - today, I feel tight but don't know if that's all the stress from having to wait until tomorrow to find out what, if anything, is wrong with me. I slept propped up with 2 pillows last night so I didn't have any reflux issues but now I've got a crick in my neck. Diva - good for you for being willing to take a cut so that noone has to be cut.
  25. Personally, I find Carla just as annoying as Joelle. I don't necessary agree Joelle or Carla has "issues". C'mon people, they're fat, and they're fat because they ate more calories than they burned over their lifetime. Do we always have to dissect the reasons why we eat? Does everything have to be psychoanalyzed?
