No, you didn't accept my Mob request. Maybe you accepted someone else's. You have to accept each person's request. You can be a member of more than one mob. So, go out and accept my mob wars invitation. Lulu, you're good. Love ya!

Sounds like hell. You fry, drown and then are raided upon. OK, all you folks join my Mob or else I'll have Beth raid you! OK, I know I'm not even making any sense anymore.

Hi Joiful. It's good to see you back and posting again. I've been thinking of you and hoping you'd be back posting. I'm sorry you're struggling with the sweet cravings. I get those too from time to time but usually I can just ignore it. I find if I given in to it and tell myself that I'll just have a bite, I end up having a LOT more than just a bite so I just have to avoid them altogether. How's your weight loss progress so far? As you can see, mine's been slow but I'm learning to be OK with it. I get an occasional NSV and that really helps me get over the depressing thoughts that this band isn't working quite as well or quite as fast as I had anticipated.

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Lots of hugs your way Tina. Stay strong in your resolve to pursue happiness. My sis and her husband separated last year after 27 years of marriage. They were 20 when they married. Anyway, he was in the Army and was gone more than he was home. After he retired my sis thought she'd get a "buddy" to do things with but it didn't turn out that way. I don't know that there is anyone to blame but they were simply no longer suited to each other. Unfortunately, after 3 to 4 months of separation, the loneliness and fear made my sister take her husband back. They are still just as ill suited to each other. My sis is very outgoing and loves to solcialize whilst my BIL is introverted and his favorite activity is tinkering around with computers. Even though he said he'd make more of an effort to join her in socializing, the truth is that he only does so reluctantly and finds her obnoxious. She resents him for making her feel like she has to drag him out of the house and watch everything she says or does so that he won't criticize her for being too loud, opinionated, etc. I love them both dearly. He's been part of my family since I was 10. I think they're both right and I think they're both wrong. Bottom line, they love each other, they have 2 adult sons, they built a life together and don't have a life outside of each other; however, they don't belong together. They are not compatible and they are making each other miserable but they don't know how to be apart. It's a sad, sad situation.

I hate suprise drop ins too but if they are a favorite, much loved relative, then they get a "Get out of Jail Free Card".
  6. Do you have any updated pics? It really helps motivate me.

    random tightness! aaahhh

It's liquid coming back up from your stomach/pouch into your throat. In some cases it burns but in my case, it didn't burn at all, it was just gross.

    random tightness! aaahhh

Stress can certainly contribute to random tightness. I just had to get a slight unfill yesterday because I was too tight. I didn't think I was too tight since I could eat and drink with no problems during the day but I started experienced acid reflux at night and that was my only indication that something was wrong. The doc took out .5 cc and voila! I'm all better now.
  9. Donna113

    Holy crap...what size is that?

What a great NSV, Tina. WTG  Sash, I love the beautiful doggie in your profile pic. Is he/she yours? What breed is it?

I just don't think I can do this.

Awww RSG, I'm sorry. You haven't failed; you've lost nearly 70 lbs in 1 year. That's an awesome accomplishment! You lost it and you didn't regain it, that's an even better accomplishment. It's been 6 months and I've lost 35 lbs. I won't lie, I'm disappointed with it and it's not at all what I thought I'd have accomplished by now, but hey, it is what it is. It's a loss and it's a loss that won't come back. I didn't gain all this weight in one year so if it takes me 2 or 3 years to lose it all, then that's fine because every year, the starting point is a smaller starting point. Without the band, who knows where my weight would be now? YOU CAN DO IT. I CAN DO IT. WE WILL DO IT!!!

Lacey, congrats on the phenomenal progress you've made so far. I'm sorry to hear you may be having some issues. Your doctor certainly seems to be taking a very cautious and conservative approach. Anyway, the unfill will give you a bit of a break so that's good. I hope it's just a matter of being a bit too tight and that you'll be able to get back on the "band" wagon in no time.

I slept through the night with no acid reflux. This band we have is a strange thing. I did not feel too tight and could eat and drink anything. The only indication something wasn't quite right was the acid reflux at night a full month and 1/2 after the last fill. Anyway, having that .5 cc taken out (which was the amount of the last fill) did the trick and I feel great. I also have a much stronger appetite as well. Mango, I hope everything is OK with your band. Even if you have to pay cash for the fluoro, I think it'd be worth it if you can somehow scrape the cash together.

I can definitely tell a big difference but I would have sworn to you before that I was not too tight and the only time I had problems were with the acid reflux at night a full month and a 1/2 after the last fill. Anyway I slept through the night last night with no problems so I'm a very happy camper this morning! WTG on the mentor program! It's sad when circumstances make it difficult to rejoice in something that should be joyous news. Having the child will certainly be a reality check for her. Maybe it will even make her realize she needs to kick the loser BF to the curb.

The doctor said I was too tight and took out .5 cc which took me down to 4.5. He said I'd lost 12 lbs since my last visit on 12/2 and was happy that I'd lost an overall 35 lbs since my surgery date in July. He said that was a good rate of loss for me. I told him of the 12 lbs lost, that the majority of that was by Christmas and I've only lost about 1 or 2 lbs since Christmas. He raised his eyebrows at that and said I need to be keeping a food diary because I shouldn't have had a stall for that long. He said my band probably tightened up since I've been under stress. He told me wait until the stress goes down and I feel back to normal and we'll recheck to see if I need another adjustment. He said the pouch looked fine and there was no dilation or slippage. He gave me the picture to take home with me.

Just heading out to the doctor's office now. I've been sleeping propped up with pillows the past couple of nights so I haven't had a repeat of the throwing up bile but I've got one bad crick in my neck! I'll post as soon I'm back to let you all know what the doc says/does.
