Once you see it, it leaves no doubt. It's extremely effective in making most people quake in their shoes. Of course, when he does it to me, I simply raise my eyebrows and he knows he better replace that look with a smile.

That's right Tina. You can't control what he does, so live your life and if he fits in, he fits, if not, then he needs to find his way to the door. As long as you are happy with yourself, the rest kind of takes care of itself.

Maybe 3 months out of the year is too much but when you never get ANY, it sounds wonderful.

I was self pay in Houston, Texas. I used Dr. Spivak who was one of the original surgeons that participated in the FDA study to have the lapband procedure approved for USA. His self-pay fees which were all inclusive for 12 months were $12,900.

I found mine in the snack section. It's kind of hard to describe the taste but I'll try. It's a little salty, crunchy and mild flavored. It's not exactly mouthwatering, but it sure does satisfy the craving for chips or popcorn and I find a 1/4 cup VERY filling. For 130 calories, it really can't be beat.

Yeah, you'd think after you've "grown up," certain things are supposed to be remain in the past. -
I often wonder why some people don't seem lose any weight after being banded. Any theories?

Susan - YAY on the 7 lb weight loss! I'm thinking of the 5 day pouch test myself. I've done it twice before but only lost an average of 3 lbs each time. I know, I know -- learn to multi-quote...

There is a thread on LBT where WasABubbleButt would copy and paste some of the grossest things from OH. It almost made me pass out reading them.

Charlene, I found mine at Costco but it looks like there are several sources online. Also, you might want to check HEB, if they don't have it, I'm sure they'll be happy to start stocking it. With the health craze and all the touted benefits of soybeans, I'm sure it will be available in most grocery stores soon.

CapitalOne also has medical/dental loans available. Their rates usually beat out others. Of course, everything is dependent on credit rating.

Should prostitution be legal?

Pattygreen, are you claiming that only Christians who believe the Bible is the Word of God are the only people in the world who are moral? Have you ever heard, engage brain prior to opening mouth? In this case, letting your fingers loose on an unsuspecting forum? -

Follow the advice of your doctor. We can only give generic advice based on our own experience. You should be asking these specific questions of your doctor or his nutritionist. -
The 5 day pouch test is 2 days liquids, 2 days mushies and 5th day easing into soft solid. If you click on the link in my original post, it will take you to the website with full description, sample menu and recipes.

This is for the OP -- your pouch may be irritated and once it gets irritated, if you don't allow it to recover fully, every time you eat anything solid, you just irritate it further. It's cumulative. Why don't you try the 5 Day Pouch Test to give your pouch a chance to rest and recover? Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test

10 days post op and EATING!
Donna113 replied to DaMomb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't feel much restriction until my 4th fill about 4 months out; that wasn't quite enough and my 5th fill about 5 months out finally gave me enough restriction that I began to understand what people meant by the "sweet spot". You will stay hungry for about the first 2 weeks or so until your stomach gets adjusted to the new limited amounts. After that, you will still have head hunger issues until you reach the "sweet spot". Once at the sweet spot, even if you crave something and give in, just a small amount goes a long way. Of course that doesn't apply to "liquid" food. I had a lot of questions and doubts initially because I really did think this was the easy way out prior to surgery. I was self-pay so I didn't have to jump through all the hoops and go through all the classes, etc. Had I done so, I might not have gone through the surgery. Now, I am so glad I did go through with the surgery but I admit I went through it blind. In looking back, I realize the first 3 months were the toughest because the band isn't doing its part during that time. Don't fool yourselves into thinking you can get bigger fills to get more restriction early -- that's a dangerous road to erosion. Let your mindy, body and band have the time it needs to get to know each other and become a healthy team. -
Have you asked to have your band checked for leaks?
