  1. Elcee you are right! I had my first experience today getting into trouble eating too fast. It was a bad situation little time to eat so I at my food bite after bite no waiting..... boy did that hurt! I thought things would get worse because I wasn't swallowing my saliva but I made myself calm down and I could feel every piece go through. It all worked out and no emergency deflation. Won't do it again was a lesson learned

  2. I am a clock watcher when I eat. I eat one bite per minute timing after I swallow. I put my fork or spoon down so I'm not tempted to take a bite too early. I have had people at restaurants think I was finished eating because I wasn't holding my fork.

  3. I was banded in August and have lost over 50 pounds. I don't get that full feeling that you speak of unless I don't measure my food ( if I'm away from home). I am only allowed to eat a 1/2 cup and I stick to " the rules" till I get the 1/2 cup down at least 20 minutes have passed and I satisfied not full. Full is not the feeling your aiming for. If you feel full you have eaten too much. A support group would be good to help you work through that.

  4. I haven't told many people either. My employees actually think I have cancer! I can't tell them because one of my ex- employees mother works for me. The ex- employee got banded a year and a half ago initially she lost 70 lbs. But has gained 45 back. I think if I told my current employee ( the mom) it would be uncomfortable. I have had a big change in appearance and people have asked how I am losing weight I just tell them I am really watch

  5. I went to the doctor today and l lost 17 lbs.! I thought I would need a little bit of a fill but the doctor says I'm good! I am happy but afraid. I don't want to get hungry. He did tell me that if I start to feel hungry before 4-5 hours before my next appointment to call and they will fit me in for a fill. I'm two months out from being banded. This is the best thing ever!

  6. I am in an awkward situation. One of my employees was banded 1 1/2 years ago. She initially lost 70# but has gained 40-50 back. This employee no longer works for me but her mother does. I really can't tell them that I was banded. It will cause a lot of problems. As you all can see. I am losing weight and unfortunately I've had to have another surgery for another problem. So of course they all think I have cancer or something. I have no idea how or what I will eventually tell them. I agree telling anyone can be an issue with answering all those questions.

  7. I've only been banded for 5 weeks. I have lost nearly 49 lbs with the loss included in the preop diet. I can see times when my old habits will come back if I'm not careful. I try to be vwry aware of myself and try to resist things it is hard and I'm still on the thrill of the loss. But remember that feeling of losing all that weight and use it to push yourself to start again. Get a fill or whatever you need to do to jumpstart yourself. You went through a great deal to get your helper (the band). It would be a shame to lose that now. We all have issues we need to work through use your friends and us for suppo

  8. I just was banded on 8/20 i was terrified of everything too. U come from an obese family. My mom passed away at age 59 weighing >600 lbs. She had gastric bypass but never came home from the surgery. So gastric bypass was nit for me. So I chose lapband and I have lost 39# so far! The shakes preop weren't bad and i split mine up so I would have a half shake every 3-4 hours. Many days I didn't get them all in wasn't hungry! Go for it!
