  1. Thanks Matt Z
  2. Well, I've not been on here in a while but I need to see if anyone has been through this before. I just celebrated my 5th year with my lapband and my bananniversary was on Nov.8th 2018. On Nov.9th they Emptied my Band due to a Upper GI infection which cause my ban to be Inflamed causing me problems With even trying to drink water. December 21st 2018 will be my 1st fill To which I will have to start all over again to find my green zone. It's been a while since I've had to deal with the hunger pains and I know some of it is head hunger , But nevertheless It's still Hunger I'm feeling. If you have been through this And would like to offer some encouragement, advise or tips, I would really appreciate it for I'm really struggling right now.

  4. So sorry, praying for your pain. ; (
  5. Fredbear if you talk that way to your Father, can't imagine how you'd talk to your friends, you must have a lot of friends.
  6. Go with Gastric Banding, Lap Band. It worked for me!
  7. I had my surgery on Thursday, took off work Thursday Friday, and went back to work Monday with very little lifting. But that was me it varies on different people.
  8. Is it normally 2 cc's? That's great if they do but I thought it was just 1 cc to start off with.
  9. Oh, so they did num you , I hope they do something for me, I hate needles with a passion and bruise like crazy, I know I'm a big baby. lol
  10. Why does it take a few fills to notice? Why don't the doctor give you the amount you need? Is it to make money?
  11. I'm so excited to finally getting my first feel tomorrow! Can anyone help me in what to expect? Will it hurt? Will they numb the area? And how will I know if it's too tight or not tight enough before I leave. I'm kinda nervous but excited too, your input would be greatly appreciated. :-)
  12. Well the butter is what Quick Weight loss said when I was going to them before the ban, it did seem to help and to me made sense.:-)
  13. Hair loss is caused by losing the fat that holds your hair in, so I was told that 1 pat of butter per day would help keep your hair from falling out. You can mix it in your eggs when cooking them. Now if you lose a lot of weight at one time you may need additional help to keep it in. You need some fat in your diet, but not too much.
  14. Ok, so when I said Old Timers I was talking about people who have had the ban for a while not literally someones age. You can be 23 years old and be an old timer. So please forgive me for not making myself more clear. I respect what you say cause you've been there and I can learn from you.
  15. Yeah I guess you're right. It would also would help if people who are frustrated from reading the same questions over and over not comment, because it comes off mean after reading their comments they made on the other threads.
  16. Minimi that's good advice which I understand, and I am in it for the long haul. The beginning of my thread was a simple question, not you but some people on here want to act like us new bandys are week and have no self control and are uneducated about the ban but that's not it, it's just real time and we are finding out it's a little harder then we expected. 4 years ago I went from 250 pounds to 155 pounds and kept it off for two years without the ban. I use to run all the time then I had to have surgery on my ankle and I had to have a bone marrow transplant and thats when I started to gain weight up to 300 pounds. I know thats no excuse but life happens. So I looked into lapband for over a year, went to classes got educated as much as I could about it, even read blogs tweets just like here on this site about how great it was, and how many people lost weight. So I know what to do, I just thought it would be easier thats all.
  17. Good job carolinagirl. Why haven't they given you any fills? Is it because you're losing weight without fills?
  18. 2muchfun and anyone else who has forgotten. I understand what you're saying and I know that this is tool and not a magic pill , but the band is worthless and just a piece of crap without anything in it! alot of you old timers that have had the band for a while have seen to forgotten how it is with an empty ban, and instead of giving all the new Bandys a hard time, try to give a little more support! for after all that's what they're looking for. That's all I'm saying if you had the band for a while you know what I'm talking about because you have been there that's why it's called band hell and yeah I'm sure it is a lot easier when you got something in your ban to help with your restriction that seems to be the key to success that everybody credits.
  19. Well my first fill is December 20th I've lost 50 pounds on my own and now I'm to the point to where I just can not lose any more no matter what I do. I mean this was my whole problem to begin with I would lose a little bit of weight give up and gain it all back plus more. That is why I got the ban I mean I know I have a problem with eating too much and I know a lot of people say I need will power but really if it was that easy I wouldn't have needed to get the ban. I say all this because I've only lost 5 pounds since my surgery and I'm afraid that when I go for my first fill my doctor's going to be pissed. Have any of you guys or gals experienced this? if so please comment. And if so was your doctor pissed?
