Protein, Protein, protein! I always make protein my 1st course. I have found that the days I get high protein (60g or more) I am not hungry at all and don't snack and pick. My diet mostly consists of cottage cheese, greek key lime yogurt with graham crackers, unsweetened tea with stevia sweetener and usually a few bites of whatever I made for dinner for everyone else. When I'm eating out I either get a bean burrito or a snack wrap. When I'm craving something sweet I have an Adkins protein snack bar.

Hi all of my fellow sept.2012 banders!
So I have lost almost 50 lbs, things are going a little slow but I know that if I were to exercise and drink more Water it would go faster. I'm optimistic that now that the weather is improving I will get out more. I am trying to find a new Protein Shake that tastes good without too much sugar, any suggestions?

Yesterday I ate a soft muffin and tried to swallow a bite that was too big...I got it through with a drink and a little discomfort. Now I have the constant feeling that something is stuck. I have been able to eat and drink normally though since then. I have tried drinking warm cocoa in case something needs to be disolved in there. What does this mean and will it pass soon? I'm hopping that I just strained the tissue and it will heal without a trip to the Dr. I was banded Sept. 19 and have lost 40lbs and have gone from a 18W to a size 14 without much exercise so far. I know, I know I need to exercise!

Just a thought for those of you who are having nausea and vomiting. 1st. Take your Vitamins before bed with a bite or two of food. Also you may need stool softners. You may not feel constipated but if you are at all it can make you feel nauseous. As for the shakes, I buy the whey Protein Powder from Walmart, it has 52g of Protein so you only need 1 small shake along with your other high protein foods. Maybe tums or prilosec would help if you have acid problems. Hope that helps some. I have been blessed with no problems after a 4cc fill.

My surgeons office submitted the pre-auth after I went to the seminar. They called me about a week later to ask when I wanted to have the surgery, I chose a date about 3-4 weeks later. I had my surgery on sept 19, 2012. I am doing awesome. My 1st fill is oct 18. I have lost 24lbs. Let me know if you have any more questions

Hey guys I was banded in May 2012. I was having a really hard time with my Protein intake and was not losing that much weight. I was so down on myself. Finally my nutritionist told me about this great Protein shake called Premier Protein. It has 30 g of Protein per shake and they are really good. Now I'm getting my 80-90 g of protein and in one week I lost 5 lbs. I was so happy.Wow, thank you for the info. I have trouble getting it all in too. I'm just not that hungry. And I haven't even had my 1st band fill yet!
Really hungry between meals

I was banded sept 2012. I have slowly lost 50 lbs. what I have figured out is that the key is Protein, Protein, protein!! The days I take in more than 60g of protein I am not hungry or do I crave sweets. The days I don't I want everything. I eat lots of the same things day to day. Cottage cheese with crackers, bean burritos, cheese, protein bars(I use Adkins). Some Pasta and Soup. chicken snack wraps if I'm out. Those are the staples but I also eat a little of almost anything. Before surgery I switched my diet coke habit for an iced tea habit. I haven't really exercised since January. But the weight is slowly coming off. Most bands have a 10cc capacity. I have a 6cc fill. 3cc sounds pretty low to me. Hope this helps
