  1. I went to a concert 10 days postop and after a while of singing loudly and yelling, i had to quit. It did hurt a little. I also noticed it at my sons baseball game when i would cheer extra hard. I assumed it was normal. I am now 4 weeks out and so far so good.
  2. Thanks! I am worried about the food as well. They said they make exceptions for medical diets so i am going to how i can bring in my own food. I will start building up my stamina.
  3. Hey guys. I am planning a family vacation and will be 6.5 weeks post op at the time. We are going to Universal Studios and i am worried that i won't have the energy. I feel good now but do quickly run out of energy. Will there be a drastic difference in another month? Thanks!
  4. Sorry you are having such a hard time. I am almost 3 weeks out so i am close to you. I cannot eat beans, they just don't go down good....heavy. I can only eat 4-5 bites of food too. Are you on an acid reducer? You should be. Also maybe you need to eat slower and take longer in between bites? Also I noticed that plain water goes down hard and gives me gas, in the form of alot of burpes. Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon.
  5. Yum!!!!!Thanks for sharing.
  6. May 7th and my numbers are so close to yours! Lost 14 preop. 11 first week and 1 the second. On my way!! Good luck to you!!
  7. Thanks. I ordered some today. I can't stand all the shakes I have now so i guess i might as well add this to the list. lol
  8. Thank you! I just wanted some idea and obviously it will still be a while for me. Thanks again!
  9. Has anyone added the unflavored protein to iced tea or any regular drink? I am so over my shakes and am thinking this might be a good way to get in my protein and i can only recall threads about it being added to food not drinks. Thanks!!
  10. I am just starting on the pureed stage. Ate some chicken salad for lunch...all is well! Just curious how long it takes to eat more then a few bites? I ate about a tablespoon and a half. My nut said we should eat somewhere between one and two at first and i am afraid to push it. I am really wanting to be able to get more protein in than from shakes but have no idea how i wil know that i can eat more. Thanks!
  11. I think everyone is different. When i had my lapband and lost weight, I could see it. Now with the sleeve, i can see it. I have no idea why some people can and some can't. My opinion is that it is a psychological thing. There are people on here who have lost 100 lbs and still can't see it. How sucky it would be to go through this and not be able to see the difference! Especially in the beginning, that's the thing that keeps me going!!
  12. Yikes! This was what I was afraid would happen with my hubby....but it didn't. I have not went through what you are going through, so I have no advise there but i encourage you to do what is best for you're health. Obviously this will be hard without her support but it's your body. Give her some time and then open up the floor for conversation and let her ask any questions she has about it.
  13. My doc won't do the surgery if you are pregnant. As a matter of fact, does a pregnancy test at preop. Also suggests not getting pregnant for atleast 18 months after surgery.
  14. Inspiring!! Huge difference!! Keep up the good work!!
  15. Chin up!! Be proud of the progress you have already made, stop beating yourself up, dust yourself off and get back at it!!! I wish you nothing but success!!
  16. Totally agree with Afrodite82!!
  17. Awesome! Inspiring!! Thanks for sharing!!!
  18. Brooks are great shoes and will run around $125.00 but will last four times longer then a Nike. Keep your receipt and you have 30 days to wear them and make sure they are a good fit.
  19. Wow!! Great job! I don't think i have ever been a size smal. lol
