Hi,
I think the main thing, regardless of your age, is to be dedicated. You should use the band as a tool to a better way of eating and not as way to solve all you eating issues. I speak from experience.
Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I had my band placed in 2013. It was going well but then, I got lazy. Gained back some of the weight and now just feeling like I need some sort of support from those that my be experiencing the same. My band is filled to about 8cc and feels good with no issues. I do feel the restriction when I eat and drink Water. I think I just need to work out but do not feel motivated. I am starting to eat healthier and using green drinks to detox myself. Any suggestions on how I can pep myself up and what foods I can eat to get myself back on track. I am good with fish and some chicken but not into meat.< /p>
Thank you!

I have had my band now close to 8 months. All has been going great with no issues at all. I have lost just over 50lbs. The problem is that a little over a week ago I over did it on Mexican food. I had a few nachos and flour tortillas. The next morning I had pain on the port. It almost feels like its bruised. I have no other issues and feel fine other wise. No nausea , I can keep food down, the port site looks fine. Any idea how long this last? Thanks!!

My doc decided I receive the smallest of the two. He said he chooses the type depending on your body type. I have a smaller waist so the 10 cc was his choice for me.

Like wise PattyGirl66!

I was banded July 27 and by the 5th months I was at a stand still. No weight loss for about a month or so. But, all of a sudden I am losing again. Don't become desperate! It will all work out just keep eating right!

Hi all,
I was banded July 27,2012 and have lost close to 50lbs. All is going well but I do notice slight discomfort on my port side. It comes and goes but I realize if I sit for a long time with my body kind of twisted towards the band, it cause discomfort. The port site looks fine and no pain to touch or warm. Is it still healing internally? Oh and I have no issues eating; it all goes down well.

I can see there is a change not only in my appearance but in my effort to continue with the changes. I don't want to give and I have a more positive outlook.

The reason the band is much tighter in the mornings is because of Fluid settling down around the band when we sleep, once we are awake and as the day progresses that Fluid drains away hence the looser band at night time. I queried this with my doctor today when I went in for a fill and it makes sense.
Kinda like if you wake up with swollen fingers or ankles in the mornings and the fluid drains throughout the day.
Wow thats great info. Thanks!

PattyGirl66,
I was totally scared! Iam just entering the mushie phase. I didn't know about the waiting time after eating ( I am seeing my neutritionist tomorrow)! I should be getting tips and a menu from her.The Clear Liquids phase was really hard for me towards the end.

PattyGirl66,
I definitely know soda is out of the question for me because it did feel as if I was going to explode! I guess it's just different from person to person. Thanks !

I have noticed quite a few people posting regarding the band feeling "loose" during the night time. This apparently allows for the feeling of being hungry or eating with no restrictions. is this very common? And why at night? I was banded a little over a month ago so I am very new at this.
Thanks for your help.

I am about 1 month and a week since being banded. Today did the worse thing ever ; took a sip of Coke. I am not a soda drinker to begin with but just wanted to satisfy a craving. It felt as if the gas got stuck at the band and I was going to explode. I got so scared! Very stupid thing to do but I wont be doing that again. So if you are thinking of drinking soda, my advice would be don't!

Floridays I'm happy to hear this is an ok feeling and that I am not alone in it! Thanks for you help.

I think that's what I am afraid of... Even one pound is to much! I know that's probably going to be the case so ,I understand . Thanks!

Hi all!
I am on my 2nd month and down 24 lbs. I am starting the " mushy food"'phase but I feel guilty eating. Does anyone else feel guilty eating; almost like I'm going to gain it all back even though I am following the rules to a T. Thanks for your help!

Great . I will do that! Thanks

Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone knows of a support group in the Miami / homestead area?
Thanks.

Had my first fill today. Not that bad but I was scared. I started out with 4cc already when I had the band placed and at the one month mark had another 1cc placed. So far so good. Just a little pain at the site but not to bad.
Discouraged and asking for help...

Hi Dana!
Do not feel like you are alone, because I am right there with you. Just ask yourself why you have lost motivation? You are only human so don't be to down on yourself. Step by step and day by day! This is how I am trying to help myself. And I think being part of a forum with people who can relate, helps to.
Good Luck,
Teresa
