  1. I have a quick question, I seem to have come down w/a sinus infection this week. I have some decongestion medication that was prescribed to me before my lap-band surgery in March 07, it is a capsule w/the little beads in it. Has anyone tried to swallow meds like that?? Im just scared it might get stuck. Any help is appreciated! By the way, I just hit 50lb lost today! YEAH...:whoo:

  2. Hello, I too was banded March 26th of this year. To date I have lost 45 lbs. I have felt over the summer months that I have not lost the weight I should have. I did join the YMCA in May and work out 3xs a week. I feel like Im stuck...I have had 3 fills thus far and feel like I need at least 1 more to hit my "green zone" as my dr. calls it.. I was wondering how do you know when you need a fill?? The mornings are tough for me, I cant really eat Breakfast and lunch is sometimes hard too, but by supper, everything goes down really well..I dont want to be too tight but think I need 1 more fill to take away the hunger pains sometimes..What do you think???

  3. Hello fellow banders! This will be my first airplane flight since getting the lapband March 26, 2007. I heard that you need to be deflatted before you fly, I asked a friend whom is also banded and she said no, so which is it?? I have only had 2 fills. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Also, has anyone had any problems getting thru security??Thanks a bunch!!

  4. Hey Rocko,

Sorry to hear about the Water thing, that doesnt sound right to me. Ck w/your Dr Monday. Im still having that pain in my chest! I can drink alittle and it stays down, I eat, it stays down, so I dont know what the hell this pain is in my chest! My ears are getting back to normal as well. They just feel alittle stopped up now. That is great about the weight though! I can tell you are very determined and your going to melt away in no time..

    Keep in touch.

  5. I do ok til late afternoon then I kinda start not feeling to well. I just ate the best chicken noodle Soup Ive ever had! Blenderized of course! hmmm, I had my first BM today and it was quite watery?? Anyway, other than the pain in my chest I feel great! my incisions dont really hurt and I can sleep on my stomach already (which Ive heard from a few that is hard to do!) I know how you feel about the gas-x, Im about chalked out myself! keep in touch and good luck Thursday..

  6. Snowangel,

I am right there /you! I was banded last Monday and I too have a horrible pain in my chest, Its there when I eat, drink or just sitting there. It feels like a painful burp but I cant do anything!!! I am also eating what Im suppose to and trying to get all the Water in but having a hard time! Im sorry you are going thru the same thing but Im glad to know Im not the only one. I go next Weds for my post-op ck up. Im going to ask what the hell is going on in my chest!! Ive also been eating gas-x like candy..Let me know if you find something out before I do, I was kinda scared something bad has happened because it shouldnt be this painful..

  7. dales2,

All you can do is go w/your gut, what does it tell you?? I made the decision almost 2 yrs ago and it took that long fighting w/the ins co, but I finally won! I was banded this past Monday 3/26 and do not regret it. I understand what you are saying about giving up certain foods, but you have to think, I want to be healthier, able to play w/the kids, ride on a plane w/o having to ask some 89pd flight attendant to get me a seatbelt extender!!!! This is a commitment, but if you really want it, you can do it. Best of luck!

  8. I was really surprised by the low amount of pain, Ive had 2 c-sections and this was nothing compared to that, As far as the locations I have 1 sm cut in between my breast and bellybutton, 2 more sm cuts under my left breast, the port cut alittle left of my left breast and 1 more sm cut on my left side, they are not big at all, I believe the port cut is the biggest at about 2ins. Ive only used my pain meds for the first 2 days, then at nite so I can try and get a good nites rest. Im not a back sleeper so that has been hard for me, but I did sleep better last nite than the nite before.

  9. Autumn444,

Keep your head high! Everything will be ok, I just got banded this Monday the 26th. Everyone is different so I wont say its smooth sailing, but Im sure if you have the mindset to do this, YOU CAN DO IT! They give you something before you go back to surgery, or at least my Dr did. I do suffer from anxiety and take Xanex on occation. Your in my thoughts and just remember, you are on your way to the new you!!! Best of luck..
