I haven't eaten anything. I just had surgery Monday so I am on a liquid diet.

My surgery has been scheduled for Oct 29th. FINALLY! I start my pre-op diet on the 15th. I am scared. I keep trying to talk myself out of it.

Yes, on Monday the 29th. I am getting better each day. The first two was pretty rough but thank God for pain meds! I sleep a lot. My appetite is finally returning and think I will try creamed soup today. I have been drinking 3 protein shakes a day for the last two days and some chicken broth. Yesterday I had a yogurt with no problems. How are you doing?

me too. I've been having really bad headaches which is unusual for me. I was starting to blame it on my pain meds. I've been taking extra strenght tylenol and it helps but as soon as they wear off the headache is back. Its not caffine withdrawal either. I've never had that problem so I dont' know why it would start now.

I have a lot of bruising. Very red around some of the incisions too. Something I will have to keep an eye on

yes off and on. I blame a lot of it on the gas though

I take my pain meds right on the dot. Sometimes I want them sooner and have to wait. I'm in a lot of pain so don't feel whiny!

Glad to hear it went well Sammy. I did ok too but woke up in a lot of pain and discomfort. I've had two "uncomfortable" attacks but made it through. Hubby put heating pad on my stomach and on my back plus taking my pain medicine. It is not as bad nowMy surgery was at 8:30 but they probably didn't take me back until 8:45. I was home by noon!

Today is the 14th day of liquids for me. The last 48 hours I had to give up my shakes also but I am now on the final countdown. Surgery is tomorrow morning. Trust me girlfriend, if I can do this so can you! I was about to throw the towel in about a week ago but wrote in my journal and reminded myself why I am doing this in the first place. Its not that I can't lose the weight, its keeping it off! I want to be healthier so I can watch my grandkids grow up and not be one of those poor people I see in the nursing homes I visit. We can do this. Yes, every doctor is different. Mine seems to be a lot stricker than most of them so I hope my surgery is a breeze cause of it! You will not fail. That is not an option. PLUS we have this great discussion board and other people who know what we are going through to give us strength and help us through. I will keep you posted on my progress. Say a prayer for me Suzannetx!

I take Nexium 40mg everyday and they told me to take it the day of my surgery also.

yes we can do this!! I am going into the final stretch. Sat and Sun broth and SF liquids only, no shakes or jello. I will be glad when next week is over. Hoping the worst will be behind me then.

I have been on a liquid diet for 11 days now, I have one more with protein shakes but then 2 days before surgery I can have liquid only, no jello, no shakes, just broth and water. I will be glad when that is over and I am on the other side healing and working my way back to soups and mushys!! Let us know how you do!!!

I don't think you will have that much excess flab, etc. for one thing you are not that heavy and second with the LB you lose it slow enough that the exercise will be able to keep up. So what if we are not tight like we were in our 20's - who cares?! I have only told one person (my husband) and that is a good example why. I am so happy for you! I know you will do great esp with that positive attitude! I will keep you posted on my surgery. 4 days to go not counting today or Monday.

Wow. I never thought about the insurance side of it. We have insurance through my husband's work and they are switching insurance companies in January. I hope that doesn't mess anything up with me. That would be awful. I don't even know how a person would go about finding that out either.

Well from what I found on the internet it sounds like a good deal. There isn't much information. I guess the only downside is if you stretch your stomach out or are not losing enough, etc if you you are out of luck. You can't get a fill like the LB. Right? It sounds like a good deal. Maybe I will call tomorrow and get more info from my surgeon too. Keep me posted!
