  1. Ok I found the paper that states I CAN use a straw if it helps me to not Gulp. Pheeewwww I thought I was crazy for a minute Lol
  2. Well I do know I get gas and burp A LOT when I use a straw , do I am just not going to drink from a straw . Thank you all for your input.
  3. To be on the safe side I will call in the morning to make sure I heard correctly . After all I am hearing impaired and may have heard wrong. It makes sense NOT to drink from a straw . Thank you
  4. I was just wondering if drinking from a straw was bad? Dr office rec. drinking from a straw to help me get use to not gulping, so whats your input??
  5. no actually the gas is not in your legs but if you get them moving up and down they help the torso get to moving the gas , so there for the exercise bike works wonders. you should give it a try. it helped me alot !!!
  6. I rode my exercise bike for three min and that helped the gas get moving. You should try it. Hope it gets better my surgery was 9-12-12
  7. I have had my band the 12th and I am doing great!! not hungry much and today I ate my first overeasy egg ! yummmy be sure you are drinking your protein with milk and that will keep you full for a few hours. and then drink lots of water all day long . good luck this tool will help us all
  8. if gas gets bad use a exercise bike for like three min and it will get things moving. I got banded on the 12th, good luck and get plenty of rest and drink water water water.
  9. i had the lap band done and I had gas so bad as well.....I got to thinking and got on my exercise bike for three min. and got everything moving....it worked!!!! I have has so much relief from the bike. now just ride it for a few min to get things moving. but i swear by it !!
  10. If you have an exercise bike get on it for about three min. And I promise all gas will start moving. Works wonders!!!

  12. My scale is not acting right either!! Lol i had surgery yesterday and I was 238 and today I am 242 . Guess all the swelling and all. Lol

  14. Awww thank you , the bike was wonderful !!! I slept great last night . My surgery was yesterday. 9-12-12 this morning im just a tad sore bit thats pretty normal considering I just had surgery and I have not had to use the bike again .
  15. i was having gas pains in my shoulder and did lots of walking but still that did not work, I read somewhere that someone sat in a rocking chair and rocked it that helped.....so I thought I would try to ride my exercise bike for a few minutes to see if i could get things moving......IT WORKED......just did like 5 min. then walked and heating pad and I was burping and passing gas....LOL hope this works for you as well. I swear by it

  20. I am about to have surgery on Wed morning and I was just curious as to where everyone placed the heating pad, on your back or your tummy.
  21. wow I must be blessed cause my body fortress is good with soy milk and I am not hungry at all, and my family has still been eating like normal and it has not bothered me at all. stay strong and focused. and the outcome will be grand. my surgery is Sept 12 ,2012
  22. I am also on day 4 and I feel fine , headache was no joke at first but finally go over that....the key is DRINK WATER and V8 fusions ...all day or Vitamin water . I am allowed one can of soup a day so I do this at lunch , today I could not even finish my soup I was too full from all the liquids I have had all day . good luck in your journey.
  23. I also have started my pre-op diet and I have been doing body fortress with soy milk for breakfast and soup for lunch and last shake for dinner and jello inbetween.....but drink lots of liquids and you will be fine . my surgery is Sept 12 good luck
  24. body fortress whey is good , mix it with soy milk and it will keep you full for a few hours.
