  1. I work for United Healthcare Military and Veterans.....don't worry about your coverage, I am TriCare Prime as well, UHC is taking the place of TriWest not TriCare. We will only be managing your care not changing anything. You do however need to do your 6 months of weight check-ins with your PCM. This isn't something new for UHC, I had to do it last year as well!! Good luck!!

    OP...where do you live??

  2. And so happy I did it!!! I weighed 224 the morning of surgery and this morning I weighed in at 201!!! I have had 2 fills so I am at 7cc's now in my 14 band. I hope this 2cc fill puts me in the green zone!!! Thank you all for continued support on here!!!

    Barb :)

  3. Not gonna bash but I have absolutely nothing to help me through this except you guys and this forum!! I refused to see the nutritionist because of the $500 that my insurance won't pay so I went to the Air Force Base NUT and ism his 1st WLS patient!! I use MFP and watch my friends journals. I had surgery on 30 Oct weighing in at 224. I had no pre-op diet, 3 weeks of liquids after, 1 week of mushy's and now I'm on my own!! This morning I weighed 207. I'm certainly not complaining but doe ays I feel lost while staring in the fridge cause I'm hungry!! Thank you all for your support!!!

  4. Hello' date=' I'm new to this and any information would be gratefully appreciated. I am about to be 52 and have been overweight since my last son was born...21 years ago! I am 5'5" my weight floats between 195-203. While we were stationed in Alaska I asked my PCM for help with the lap band and she laughed at me, said I wouldn't qualify. Yet, I would see younger women, who weighed a little more than me that were going in for gastric bypass.

If you have any tips that I might could use to convince my PCM, here in Missouri, to get me a referral that would be great.

Connie, are you at Whiteman AFB???

  5. I had mine done yesterday and know exactly how you feel!!! I have had 4 csections and robot hysterectomy and nothing compares to this. I have found that while making my walking laps around the house I would stop and have my husband rub my back up and down and that really helps!!! I have graduated from the lazy boy to the couch but my bed last night was not even an option!! Good luck, hope we feel better!!!

  6. Fellow nurses.....I am looking for some scrubs in my size and having a hard time finding things that feel comfortable to me. The cute stylish scrubs are typically fit for "junior" plus sizes which are big' date=' yes, but don't do as much to accommodate my baby-bithin' hips ;)

What I have now are draw string with side pockets (not the unisex kind) which are nice because you can loosen or tighten the string....but find that that ride high in the front and low in the back...esp when I am sitting. I am in a 2x and to get into something more comfortable in that particular style I am having to go up a size, and even then it's not great!

Do you have specific brands that you feel fit plus size well? Where do you buy them?[/quote']

I wear the Cherokee Flexible tops, love them!!!!!
