  5. I was also banded on 12/4. I've been feeling really hungry for 3 days now. I'm on full liquids and that just doesn't seem to keep me full or satisfy me at all. I'm counting down the days until I start mushies. As far as pain goes I'm almost pain free just some incision tenderness. I think it's normal to start feeling hungry after surgery as the swelling in our stomachs go down. You probably won't feel restriction until you get a few fills. I believe we are starting the stage everyone refers to as bandster hell. It's where you have to rely solely on self control to get you through until you get to proper restriction and the band starts to help. Good luck!

  9. I'm a nurse at a plasma center. I don't do a lot of lifting or pulling but I do a lot of standing on my feet all day. I have 3 weeks off. The middle week I have to go to a conference for my job. It will be a lot of sitting around. I think I should be fine.
  10. Imodium is an anti-diarrheal medicine. It stops diarrhea. Definitely should ask your doctor first though.

  12. I had surgery today as well! And it sounds like we had surgery at the same time:) I had surgery at 9. Woke from anesthesia at 10:30 and went home at noon. I'm feeling great. Just a little sore. Congrats! It's so exciting to see other people starting their journey at the same time as me!
  13. Keep us updated. I decided to get banded so that I can lose weight to get to a healthy weight so that I can have healthy pregnancies in the future. Congratulations and best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy!

  16. Banjo257- not nauseous. Sorry for the typo!
  17. I'm happy to report that surgery went very well. I went into surgery at 9. Woke up around 10:30 from anesthesia and left to go home at 12. I've been able to lay in my bed on either side and sleep for and hour and a half at a time. I've been walking around a lot in between naps. I have no gas pains. My pain in my stomach just feels like I did a bunch of sit-ups. I'm also tolerating drinking fluids well and have had nausea. I hope the rest of the day continues this well. I have no regrets!

  20. Today is the day for me. I'm getting up and getting ready now. I have to be at the surgical suite at 8:30. I'll let you all know how I do when I'm coherent again lol
  21. Hi guys! I've been on the boards for about a month or so. I'm being banded on 12/04. I decided to start a YouTube channel to document my journey. My channel name is lovelyrestriction. I have found a lot of help from watching YouTube videos and want to be able to contribute to others. If you are interested feel free to check my channel. I posted my first video today and I plan to make a new video once a week.
  22. Destiny- I'm being banded Tuesday too:) I've had a cold for the majority of the preop diet. I called my doctors office and they said as long as I haven't had any fevers and I don't have on the day of surgery I can have surgery. Fortunately I haven't had any fevers and all my symptoms are pretty much gone. I think I'll be good. You should call your doctors office to check. I have been afraid the whole time I've been sick that I would have to postpone and restart the liquid diet. That would be aweful!
  23. My old college roommate was a vegetarian and she tried to restrict her carbs to keep a healthy weight. She was not banded. She ate a lot of morning start products and boca burgers. They are pretty high in protein. She also ate a lot of beans with brown rice. Together they made a digestible protein that separate you don't get. I know rice is not possible for a lot of bandsters though. Hope this helps a little.
