    Dogs

My Labradoodle was still young when I had my surgery and he was really good. I just had hip replacement and he is awesome. I take him out with my walker and he actually watches me to make sure he doesn't get too far ahead of me. They have great instincts! Got a love them.
  4. I had to go braless the first week. Then the incision was healed enough.

    I got stuck :(

I hope you are learning that getting stuck, sliming and vomiting are not good with the band. Continuing this could cause real problems with your band. Please learn from this and either eat smaller bites slower or get a slight unfill. It is not worth having real problems down the road.

Remember, the avg is 1-2 ponds a week. Don't rush it. You are doing great!

    Nervous

Make sure you talk to your nut. If you are banded in 2011, why are you still drinking protein? You definitely will not feel full for long drinking your protein. Have you tried going to just real food? Just a suggestion. I haven't had a protein drink since six months post op.

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

Welcome back! Stay with us, you will get there. I agree that it is a cycle. I eat ice cream a couple times a week now, but have stuck to 1/2 cup and no sugar added. Still 120 calories, but I am living with it. My weight will probably jump up when I can start exercising again. I figure six weeks of sitting on my ass I have lost muscle. I'll deal with it next month! Just bored to death! Especially this week because my husband had to go home to help his mom and I am home alone with the dog (on my walker)! He (the dog) is doing really well with me being crippled! I won't mention dealing with the furlough and loss of pay is driving me crazy too. Did I mention I am still fixing the house after a lightning strike three weeks ago! It can only get better!

    upset

I do the same. But it doesn't get really hot here (N FL) until Aug/Sept. I used to always be hot, now I am always cold too. I guess I was wearing a 165 pound blanket and its gone now!

    PISSED nothing but sliders

    Please help hungery!

I don't think carnation instant has that much protein. Adkins has more protein. Or remember you can add unflavored protein powder to any thing.
  14. Cottage cheese, refried beans and anything you like just throw it in a blender! Instant mush.

  16. I had my band done by Dr. Uchal at St. Vincent's in Jacksonville. He and his staff are awesome. He has the best nutritionist too! I looked at Memorial, but just had a better gut feeling with the staff at Uchal's and I am so glad that I went to them! They also have a great after care program with lots of support groups and activities.
  17. My doctor said the same thing, walking or stationary bicycle until six weeks, then I could do more strenuous work and weights.

    Can i take metformin????

Your body is going to go through so many changes. Your primary care provider should be following you at least every three months to monitor the changes and adjust your meds as necessary. I had lots going on with my blood pressure until I went totally off it.

    PISSED nothing but sliders

I agree with you. I would not want to live on two bites the rest of my life! Not very satisfying. Hope you get a slight unfill soon.

    Firming lotions?

I definitely use firming lotions. The gym will help build muscle, but will not fix loose skin. That will depend on your age and genetics. The lotion does help with appearance and helps to keep your skin hydrated which we all need anyway.

    Personal question for the ladies.

It will also depend on how old you are. Remember they are jut skin and fat. I went from a 44F to a 36DD, but the DD is jut to fold the p in to! Can't wait for a lift! The swimsuit is difficult! Otherwise, hidden behind clothing for now!

    Headaches

It may be from chemicals that your body is having withdrawals from, could be caffeine or any other things it has been used to. It should pass.
