  1. My first year I ate out almost every day. I never got a laminated card, but the surgeon gave me a paper one. I have never had to use it. I ask the restaurant to cook the way I want my food prepared. At the beginning I even had them put my meat in a blender when I was on mushies. I either order from the senior menu or take home 2/3. Local restaurants that I frequent do cater to me. My husband is great and often orders what I want so I can just pick off his plate. You will figure it out. Ask for a nutritional menu that way you won't even order most things or find a different restaurant! I now cook more at home but still eat out 2-3 times a week.

    January Surgery Bandsters Group

That's awesome! Zip lining is on my bucket list. Just waiting for my hip replacement so I can do it. We went to Hard Rock Tampa Casino two weeks ago for my husband's birthday. We had a great time. Love Las Vegas! We went for his bray last year!

Very quiet here! Hope you all had a great weekend. It was beautiful here in N FL yesterday, but has rained on and off today and now all night tonight. Went to the musical Spank Friday night, worked in the yard yesterday and played golf in and out of the rain today. Have a great week everyone!

    Need my fitness pal friends

I use MFP every day and have since being banded 1/30/12. It is great to see what everyone is doing and I love that it tells you where you will be in 5 weeks! Very motivating. You can add me, I am at goal now, Brinksm. Still eating right and exercising every day!
  6. Nice question. I too am glad to see the long timers. I am 15 months and been at goal for almost two months now.

Is this the green zone ?

Probably too full, but I couldn't eat an entire banana anyway or that would be all I ate. Get a little taken out.

    2 Months Out

I agree with the exercise. I had a hard time at first as I could not walk. So I did the stationary bike every day. Even when starting with only 10 minutes, I committed to doing it every day. I worked my way up to an hour to an hous and a half every day and I have been doing that for over a year now. It doesn't matter what you do, just do something. It makes all the difference in the world. I feel so guilty if I can't get it in now, especially if I go to the theater with the girls! My priorities have changed and I don't even think twice about it now. You will get there, just find things you can do for now. Changing up your food will make a difference too. You need more protein, try a hard boiled egg with your breakfast and half the cream of wheat or I eat celery with peanut butter. My doctor says not to worry about it as long as I eat healthy, but I feel the extra protein really helps you to stay full, and it doesn't take much! Congratulations on your success, the plateau will pass. I had three of them the first year.

    coughing

You need to tell them you can't wait until 4/23. Don't live with it too tight. Hope you can get it fixed soon.
  10. Welcome and good luck to all you newbies! Walk as much as you can. Just follow your doctors food plan. They are all different with food types, amounts and how often. You will have to find what works for you especially when you really start exercising and get off the liquid protein. When you start getting fills, don't base the need on hunger if you are still drinking your protein. Good luck and enjoy your new found excitement!
  11. That's awesome. Congrats!
  12. I used water and a little ice. I mixed the protein flavors chocolate with vanilla and strawberry, all together. Change it up so you don't get sick of the same flavor. You can get through this! I quit all protein drinks after a couple months.

Starting over, 5 years after surgery

Anna, it's never to late. Go back to the basics. Log everything and exercise every day even if it is just a little. You will feel so much better? Welcome back!
  15. Just depends on your surgeons schedule. It didn't take any time for me once approved. Keep trying to reach your dr office. You have plenty of time! Congratulations on the approval and your new job!

    firming your skin

I have tons of saggy skin. I use lotion every day. My arms, boobs and thighs are the worse. Hoping to have plastics one day. I agree that it is genetics and I would say age. I was overweight all my life 50+ years so I can't imagine that it will fix on it's own. If you are younger you may have a better chance. I use a firming lotion, no smelly ones, I have sensitive skin also!

They may have given you a fill at the time of placing it. I know that if I had a second fill, I would never make it. Glad you are going in.
