    Brown Rice?

    Any thoughts on starting exercising?

I felt the same as you. I went out and bought a little set of pedals. I sat my a** on the sofa and pedaled while I watched tv or sat on my iPad (like I am now) and pedaled for 10 minutes. Every day I did that and little by little increased my time. I also log everything on MyFitnessPal so I can see where I am going and how many calories I have burned. You can also find out there what exercises burn more calories. I never walked because I couldnt and it was boring. I am up to 1 to 1 and 1/2 hours of exercise every day. Now I like to ride my bike outside, but if it is too hot or raining, I get on the sofa with my little pedal machine. Just find something. Once you get started and see more weight come off, you won't want to quit!

    Feeling much better

I take the Centrum sour balls! Love them.
  5. I take Mobic every day. Hope to quit once I have my hip replaced next month. I don't take any other pain or anti inflammatory meds.

    Don't understand.

We all have the same thoughts. That is what finally got me to make the decision for WLS as nothing else was working. I am here to tell you, it does and can work if you put your mind to it. I am 15 mo post op and down 158 pounds. It is hard work, but can be done. You will find lots of support here and many who have been successful so far and lots of new people that feel the same way as you. Track everything on MyFitnessPal.com. It is very motivating to see where you will be in five weeks as it shows you when you enter your food and exercise everyday. Eat right, exercise, chew, chew, chew and drink lots of Water. You will be fine!
  7. Glad you are home. Make sure you are walking a lot, even in the house. Drink lots too, you are well on your way to a better banded life!

    a little confused

The fear of the problems keeps me in line. If you don't need a fill don't get one. That time may come. If you are managing, as it sounds like you are, hold off on the fill. I have been banded 15 months and have only had one fill. I never felt hunger, just head hunger! It took the nut a long time to get me to understand that you no longer have designated eating times! Only eat when hungry. If it is an hour ahead of tpwhat time you used to eat, then eat. Sometimes it isn't until 7 or 8 pm before I have dinner now. Just a habit I had to break growing up that lunch and dinner were atna certain time. I am sure it is hard fir this with children, but it has really helped me to only eat when hungry. I just tell husband to have a snack!

    Brown Rice?

  10. There are other protein drinks. Google non whey protein drinks. Or ask your nutritionist for some help.
  11. Don't forget you are still battling head hunger too! That is a bear. Stick to your 1 c of food and when done wait at least 20 minutes to see how you feel. It takes your brain that long to realize you don't need anymore!
  12. I think what you are doing is great. I don't eat Protein bars or drinks. It really depends on what your nut wants you to do. Mine always says don't worry about counting Proteins if you are eating healthy. I eat hard cheese over cottage cheese. I just buy Cabot 50 or 75% reduced fat cheddar. I also wrapped my lunch meat around a slice of cheese and a pickle (for some crunch). I didn't eat bread for the first 8 months. Now I eat the Arnold half round flat bread as my nut says you need good fiber/carbs. I make my sandwich with 1/2 a slice. Lots of chicken and fish and even pulled pork. Ground turkey in everything instead of ground beef (meatloaf, spaghetti sauce and tacos). I also did not eat salad for the first 8 months. I considered that a filler food that doesn't stay with you. I also tried to burn as many or close to the amount I was eating. I have lost 158 pounds since 1/30/12. I am trying to maintain now, but still losing a little. Hard to let up on the exercise as I exercise everyday 1 to 1/2 hours. Keep up the good work! Find what dense proteins you like and that stick to your ribs and keep doing it. Stay away from things that can slide through (yogurt). Just because it may be high in protein doesn't mean it will stick to your ribs. In the early stages these are good to get it all in while you are healing, but after a couple months you need to transition to real food. That is how you will eat the rest of your life, not yogurt and drinks. I even eat sweet potato French fries! They are high in Vit A.

    NSV- victorias secret

That is awesome! I would love to do that. I have gone from a 44F to a 36DD. I have just never gotten the courage to go in because I never could before and haven't gotten over that. I guess I just need to walk in and try something nice on!

    Bittersweet

It's a great feeling but also depressing with the extra money needed to spend. I have gone from a 26 to 12 and hopefully done buying more sizes. I have really learned how to shop well since I am a shopaholic! Today I got a great black leather coat, winter jacket and a pair of Tommy Hilfigger jeans for $26. I was so excited! Enjoy these moments and congrats on the loss!
  16. That sounds normal. If you are only having a snack in the mid morning and not eating for 3 hours, that is great! Are you eating dense protein or soft protein? I eat about 1 to 1 1/2 c for my meals and am good for 4-5 hours. Don't get me wrong, I snack! But that keeps me from worry about overeating at one time and I keep my calorie count down. I have never been stuck. If you are having stuck episodes, NO FILL!
  17. I agree with Catfish. If you are noticing your clothes are looser, you are doing great and probably gaining muscle. I eat about 1 and a half cups of food for my meal and a snack in the afternoon. One fill only. Everyone is different. Don't get too tight. It is a slow process. Hang in there and keep doing what you are doing. Dont rush it.

    Mushy food

    Depends on your doctors protocol.

    Confused

Didn't your dr office give you a list of things to eat. If you are on solids now you can pretty much eat anything, just make healthy choices, smaller amounts, and tiny bites and chew chew chew! Your meal should be 2-3 ounces of a dense protein, 1/4 c of veggies and 1/4 c of a good carb. I hope that helps! You are doing great with 10 pounds so far. My first six weeks were very slow because your body is healing and you can't exercise as hard. Be patient!
  20. By the looks of it, it has been working!

    tell me about peanut butter

You can also try almond butter. It has great protein and better fat than peanut butter. I alternate, I like them both. I have a whole grain cracker with a little peanut butter at bedtime with my meds and vitamins.
  22. It is amazing how different each physician is. Mine has never given me a calorie count. Just said eat healthy and only when hungry. Wanted me to go off the protein shakes when I could as real food is better for the band once you are healed. Please do what your dr says. I was 330 pounds, so I am sure that made a difference too! Just don't get fills if you can't eat as much as they want you to!
