  1. I actually had the same thing. My hubby works in a orthopedic office and suggested I get a x-ray. Turns out it was a pinched nerve from head position during surgery. Dr. Told me gas pain that intense does nit last that long, and nothing helped helped especially walking. Started Chiropractor regularly and mild muscle relaxers which help. I occasionally get gas pain in left shoulder after I eat, it is not nearly as painful as the nerve thing. I chalked up to gas pain for two weeks because everyone told me that is what it was. The doctor was baffled I let it go on that long. I should also tell you, I had two doctor opinions since I was convinced it was gas. I am 5 weeks post op and I still have tenderness in my left shoulder and neck. Good luck.

  2. My husband started getting kidney stones about 6 months post op. He was having a episode atleast once a month. His saving grace has been pure lemon juice Water. He goes through a bag a week and squeezes the juice in a water bottle. He then drinks several glasses of it a day with the juice. The artificial stuff did not work. You can have a test to determine the type of stone. He ate a lot if okra which was on the kidney stone forbidden list.

  3. Everyone is different. I woke up with awful pain in my left shoulder and neck, that lasted over 3 weeks. I can clearly feel my port, under my right breast. I also had 2 hernias fixed at the same time. I still have tenderness in the port area. I was banded 08/08/12. Good luck.

  4. My surgery was not in a hospital but a "surgery center" with an adjacent bank and state farm. Freaked me out a little. I got there at 7am went to a little dr. Office type room around 8, was up walking around in recovery by 11am and home by 12:30. Looking back, I would have researched better and asked to stay over night. At home I was miserable, worried, and the next week ended up at the er in tears wondering if it would ever get better. I should note my husband had surgery 2 years ago, different doctor and he was home within 4 hours. His first fill appt, he found out his band had slipped and had to do it all over again.

  5. I have never had any of the skinny cow products but I have seen it in the store. I thought I checked the nutritional details once and it was not great. Maybe I am confusing it with something else??? What skinny cow products do you prefer????

  6. I was banded on 8/08/12. Extremely sore in shoulder and neck. I also feel a pulling sensation when I get up from laying or sitting. I also had a hiatal hernia and umbillical hernia fixed at the same time.

Day 4 post op and I am still very sore. My port is high under my right breast which is uncomfortable because I have to sleep in a bra or my breast irritates the incision. I still have gas pain in left should and neck the same as the day of surgery. I finally took some milk of magnesia today because the thought of a bm scared me to death. This could also be because of the umbilical and hiatal hernia that was fixed the same day.

  7. WOW' date=' your surgeon let you eat sherbet and apple sauce. You are lucky I'm still on liquids (clear ). I was banded Aug 6. My gas disappeared overnight. Heating pad on high on the back for 10-15 minutes. Then relax and before you go to bed put the heating pad on again.I also had a hiatal hernia repaired.

Best wishes and Be positive. I would stop the Tomato Soup (acid) for 2 days and see if it goes away.[/quote']

Thanks. I honestly thought after a day or two I would be feeling great. My husband got banded 2 years ago and seemed to have a much easier time than me. I do know that my neck and shoulder pain are much better in the mornings, but as soon as I eat or drink anything it comes right back. Also my stomach feels like I was kicked by a horse. It is especially bad when I try to stand and walk around.

  8. I am 3 days post op. I wa banded on Wednesday August 8th by Dr Titus Duncan in Atlanta. I also had hiatal hernia and umbillical hernia fixed at the same time. I have awful gas pain especially after I eat. I am only eating small amounts of apple sauce' date=' sherbert, ice pops. A little soup...broth or tomato.[/quote']

I should note the gas is in my left shoulder and neck.
