  1. I've never heard of this but I have the same fear. I read on here one girl got denied from her surgeons office forgetting to send pcp referral. I am extra paranoid so I literally go to all my appointments with the same folder and get copies of my clearances THEN I call my surgeons ooffice to make sure they got it. Just be prepared we came too far to get denied! !!!!
  2. that is really crazy! hmmm well i know my surgeons office already knew the requirements SOME insurance companies require 6 months worth of dietician appointments others only require 2 or 3. it really just depends. i would post your type of insurance and state that you live in. maybe some others have the same insurance and know the requirements. i would think they would be way more helpful than directing you online. again i would call them back and advise them that the description on the website just isnt clear. if they dont help you i know one of the nurses at your surgeons office can provide you with a clear answer (there is a department that submits your paperwork directly to the insurance for approval) and they should be able to help as well! good luck to you!!!!!
  3. please CALL your insurance directly and ask them the requirements of cover bariatric surgery. they will be happy to help you. this way you dont miss anything at all

  15. OMG!!!!!!! you just got me BEYOND wicked super excited now thats so amazing to hear and i HOPE i have the same success as you!!!! that is soo fast. im crossing my fingers!!!! whats your BMI? did you have any doubt that you wouldnt get approved?
  16. hey i know exactly how you feel. this is something i struggled with as well. but my hospital doesnt require a certain amount of weight loss. they have to see that you are trying. if you see a dietician they will give you a meal plan to follow by. this should help tremendously (i lost 3 pounds in one week just from following the diet plan and not even working out) now as for the gym, cardio cardio cardio! even if you get on the ellyptical for 30-45 minutes a day it helps SO MUCH. if you cant do that try going to the track or even a workout dvd. if you cant do it everyday at least try 4 times a day. good luck to you! is your surgery close? why do they require you to lose so much so quickly? i have a 2 year old daughter and i work at LEGO they feed us Snacks alllll the time. and my 2 year old loves junk but ive replaced it with healthy junk, she loves grapes, strawberries and oranges (which are still sweet) try to get sugar free everything. cut out the soda and you will be good! if you need motivation or tips you inbox me! it will get better and easier as you see your results it wi.l motivate you to eat better good luck to you!!!!
  17. im in Enfield,CT!! getting it done at Hartford Hopsital!!
  18. my bmi is 50 and im more than ready. ive lost weight on my own but its a beautiful thing going through the 6 month requirement (not sure how long your insurance makes you go through this) but you learn alot about your self. you tend to fall into the mentality that surgery is just a tool but if you are dedicated and want to make the LIFE change you will!!! its worth it in the end hopefully i get my surgery date for next month. but i have faith in you!!!
  19. club fitness in enfield, CT!!! i see that your surgeon is dr papasavas which is awesome!!!! he is supposed to sleeve me next month!!! im terrified and excited. can you shine some light on your experiencE? did he make you feel comfortable. congrats to your amazing weight loss. you give me hope that i will heal great and be perfectly fine lol.

  23. It's so refreshing to have a site like this. to release, express and rejoice!! i am Tatyanah mom of my 2 year old beautiful Irieanah and proud wife! today was an amazing day for me! my 5th dietician appointment and 2nd support group meeting was tonight! i actually found out today that i have PRE diabetes and high cholesterol. something i've never had in my life. it's funny because my deitician read the comments from my PCP to me and it said....would prescribe meds but patient is getting bariatric surgery next month. i couldn't be more ecstatic for my sleeve now that it's getting closer. i have two appointments left then..submitting to the insurance!!!! im down another 3 pounds but still a LONG LONG way to go. the support group was really inspiring tonight too. we met a lady who lost over 100 pounds since last year! i got emotional watching her power point and hearing her story. she talked about her fears and how she harassed her surgeon (which happens to be mine as well) and how she knew all the risks before even getting surgery. which i'm sure we all do. but its a risk i'm willing to take to feel healthy and confident and happy!!! i got reassurance that my insurance (Husky A Connecticut-Medicaid) based on my bmi, and minor health issues and weight loss not drastric but still sufficient that i'll have no problem getting approved. don't want to get my hopes up but i'll keep the faith. really excited to start my journey and my last dietician appointment is SEPTEMBER 5TH!!! everyone pray that this goes by fast for me:) ur all wicked supportive and love this site!!!!
