  2. Keep fighting. Your bmi alone should have you approved revision or not! Maybe escalate it to the medical director of the insurance company and hopefully they reconsider. Also try getting more than one letter of medical necessity like from your pcp and surgeon but I've read the peer reviews always succeed. Good luck to you !!!!

  3. @@FDclerical How are you doing? Hope you are progressing and healing well :)

Hi deb great to hear from you ! I am doing well so far. 1 week post op no more pain just very mild gas pain in the shoulders. I'm more nauseous than with my sleeve and I'm down 7lbs so far since surgery day diharrea has taken over and I will be on pureed very soon can't wait for that. I did some light cardiovascular today which felt really good. So proud no more acid reflex pain at all !!!!

  4. Both are major surgeries ! I had my sleeve 4 years ago and dealt with Gerd very painful heartburn and my sleeve was twiated. I was just revised on 12.27 with hiatal hernia repair to bypass. Very happy so far and healing well. I still do not and will never regret My sleeve but you have to decide that for yourself. If you have Gerd and I wouldn't suggest it. Both are amazing tools!!!

  5. I have cigna and I actually went in for a revision and they approved me 100%.

Oct 19th. Nov. 11th and Dec 8th were my NUT appointments. I don't even think it was a full 90 days that I did lol.

Your stuff prior is not going to count. But your doc should still let you get all your other pre op requirements out the way while on your supervised diet program for sure !!! My approval was smooth too it took like 7 days and all the reps were very very helpful. Good luck I'm sure u will be fine especially if medically necessary! !!!

  6. @@bearhugs1975 So sorry to hear that things are not going well for you. The conversion to bypass absolutely cured my reflux. I am glad you are taking some time to think about it. It's a difficult surgery. It is more complicated than the sleeve, and the recovery has been so different from my first surgery. The two incisions on the left side hurt! Just prepare yourself for a little bit harder recovery than before. It's definitely worth it, though. I still have a long way to go, but now I am free of the reflux, and the pain from the surgery is temporary. I wish you all the best. Keep us posted on how things go for you!

Awesome to hear linda. I was sleeved 11.2013 and just revised on the 27th for a twist and hiatal hernia repair. I am having diharrea but other than that no issues. Oh and the gas pain sitting in my right shoulder driving me nuts !!!

Hi! I had sleeve 6/2014,revised to RNY 10/2016. Have lived on protonix, omeprazole etc for over 13yrs. Before revision, couldnt eat a hard boiled egg without being sick! Now, amazing difference. Have been off ALL reflux meds and no Heartburn or reflux whatsoever!! So glad I converted. Not a. Easy decision for me either, but came down to not even being able to eat to live!

Good luck and msg me if any questions...

  9. Ugh...I'm hoping for a revision also. Had my band for 6 years. Having pain just to the left of my

Sternum. Complete unfill due to pain, reflux, vomitting. 2 months later (just last week) had endoscopy. Surgeon said I had a small hernia and took biopsies. Will see what is found. He wants to try to work with the band some more unless findings from biopsies show something different. I have regained ALL of my preop weight. Just want this to be resolved.

please make sure you stress the importance of your safety and comfort. in the end it is your body not the surgeons. you push for what you want and need good luck keep us posted!
Well, they only found a small hernia with my endoscopy. No other problems. So they want to work with my band. I am completely unfilled and gaining weight. I said I was willing to do what they felt was best for me. However, I wanted them to know ALL of my concerns for keeping the band. AND, I have to wait over a month before I can even get in to see the doctor to discuss anything or try to begin working with the band again.

I feel like I'm getting nowhere FAST!

Oh wow. A small hernia is still a. Hernia !!!! I'd say definitely time to start looking for a new office if it's an option !!! I don't understand the band and fills etc but hoping things get better for you !!

  10. I am so nervous about my upcoming bypass on 12/27. My husband is supportive, and he loves me and thinks I am doing the right thing. I guess I'm looking for more validation that I am doing the right thing for me and my family. I'm in tears for the first time during this journey because I'm scared of failing, scared of my future as a bypass patient, but even more scared of being morbidly obese for the rest of my life. I'm just looking for a pep talk, some words of encouragement from someone who understands the struggle. Thanks for listening ????

Hey surgery twin ! I hear you I was going through the same thoughts and feelings as well. Seeing as our procedure is one day away all I can say is pray on it and try to stay positive. Keep up with the support groups and staying accountable it helps a lot !!! Feel free to add me surgery buddy !!!
