I paid with an early release of my super. We were private patients in a public hospital.

I was just sleeved by Dr Taylor last Tuesday 18/12/12. He and his team have all been great. Even the hospital staff said how impressed they were with how prepared all his patients are.

Hi there. My Husband and I are both seeing Dr Craig Taylor. We were both sleeved last Tuesday 18/12/12 also at concord hospital. He and his team are all really great.
The last 2 days at home have been difficult with pain (not unbearable) and restrictions with movement but I an glad for our journey so far.
My hubbie has lost 12kg so far and I have lost 9kg. The pre op diet was 2 weeks of Optifast and 2 cups of veggies from a list given by the dietitian.
The staff at concord were also friendly and caring.
All the best with your journey.

Yes I have been 2 weeks on Optifast... Not too bad actually... Have had a couple of " lax"
Moments but have lost around 4-5 kgs! Get through this weekend ... Then it all begins! Where are u having ur surgery... Dr??
4-5kg is great.
My surgery is with Dr Taylor at Concord Hospital. Wishing you all the best for this weekend and your new journey next week. I would be interested to hear about your 1st week post op. All the best.

Thank you for sharing. I will try and prepare as much as I can so we are both ok on our own when we get home.

I am booked in for my surgery in December and I am just wanting to hear about your experiences the first few days after the surgery. My husband and I decided to have the op on the same day and I'm wondering if we will be ok to take care of ourselves.
-
I am booked for December 18th. The date couldn't come quick enough. Have you started a pre op diet?
-
Try to stay positive. You have worked really hard to get where you are. Good luck.
-
Congratulations. One of my main reasons for getting the surgery is so I can come off my meds. Still 6 weeks out and it is stories like yours that keep me motivated. Thank you.

I am booked in for surgery with Dr Taylor in December. Not worried about the pain or diet so much as anxious about the whole thing. I made the choice for my health and my future that's all I'm thinking about right now. I also have a work college who has Dr Taylor as her surgeon and she is really happy.

3 weeks ago I express posted my 'release of supperannuation on compassionate medical grounds' forms to DHS for approval.
Within a week and a half I received my approval letter. The next day I express posted the application form for my super fund along with my approval letter to my super fund.
I received the full amount for my surgery in my bank account this morning. The whole approval and release (I'm my case) took just over 3 weeks.
I hope other sleevers have as much luck with it as I did.

Welcome Esta' date='
Congrats on your decision. Good luck on your op. DHS has been good to a few of us so far, me included.
Sorry cant help you with medical condition changes. The only problem I had was infertility. Hoping this fixes that. As was alot smaller when I fell preggers with my son.
Have you got a surgery date?

No date yet. Probably close to Christmas.

Hi all. I am new to the site. I have just decided to have the sleeve surgery.
All your stories have been an inspiration and it seems like you are all happy with your decision.
I had my initial appointment at the OClinic in Sydney on Monday and now I am waiting for a reply from DHS about accessing my super.
Now I have made the decision to have the sleeve surgery it seems like it can't come quick enough. It took me about 3 years to make the decision and now I feel like I have waisted a lot of time.
I would like to know if anyone has had a change in medical conditions since surgery, particularly PCOS and diabetes?

Just wondering if there was anyone from Sydney on this site. Where you had or are having your surgery and how you went with it all.
