What is it? I have seen it mentioned before and I really don't know what is. How is it done and what does it do?

I have a required 2 wk liquid diet before my surgery on Jan 17. I have gained about 10 lbs since my initial evaluation in July so I thought I might start a week early. I want to be where I was in July by the time of my surgery. Is it safe to try for 3 weeks? Do you think I could lose about 20 lbs? I'm starting out at about 360.

Anyone out there starting at or started at 350+ lbs? I am about 375 and thought it would be nice to share the experience with someone about the same size. Let me know maybe we can go through this together. My surgery is Jan 17.

I start my 2 week pre op diet on Jan3.I was just curious, how much did you weigh when you started and how much weight did you lose?

I am getting sleeved on Jan 17. I started this whole process back in August and I have probably gained 10 pounds since then. My eating has been out of control. I know this may sound strange but I think I am going through some kind of grieving process for the food that I won't be able to have after the surgery. Has this happened to anyone else? Well, now that I have gotten all the hoops out of the way I hope that I can buckle down and at least lose that extra 10.

I just got off the phone with my insurance company. I have been approved!!!!!! The paperwork was submitted on Monday and approval on Thursday! I don't have a surgery date yet but I will as soon as I talk to the bariatric liaison. HOORAY

I just got my date. Jan 17. Could have been sooner but there was no way my husband or I could get off of work in November or December. It's ok- I'll be starting off the new year in a great direction.

I had my sleep study Friday night. It was miserable! Not all the wires- the bed! I woke up about 4 hours in and my back was killing me. I don't think I slept more that another hour. Hope that was enough. I get the results in 5-8 days. If I have to go back for a cpap machine, I think I will scream. Do you think I could go to another sleep center if I have to go back? Fingers crossed.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will definitely be going the sleeping pill route if I have to go back.

Hi Everyone. I am new to these boards. I have been working on my sleeve requirements since the middle of July. I have been to the seminar, support group,and first dr's appt. I have my sleep study tomorrow night and my nutrionist visit on the 17th. I am hoping to have surgery at the end of October but if not it will have to be January because there is no way I can get time off of work in November or December. I am a little worried about the sleep study because I am pretty sure that I have sleep apnea and that is the only thing that can slow me down. I have been reading posts on here for awhile and you all have been a lot of help even if you don't know it. So I wish all of you much luck. Lisa
