    Ready To Give Up...

Go back to basics. A friend of mine suggested making corned beef, cabbage, and potatoes and blending them up. She was sleeved a month before st pats. She said it was awesome. Also try stuff that doesn't contain dairy. Dairy upsets the stomach. The sulfur in eggs and mayo can also cause nausea. Try foods that are more bland in taste and then work your way over to the more savory. It might help.

    Jittery

Sounds like you are dehydrated. I feel all those things when I am dehydrated. Are you taking an antacid? That might be why your throat is burning. If the symptoms persist, call your doctor. You paid a lot of money for them to change your life. Use them as a tool!

    Drinking Fluids

I have been able to drink more than an ounce every 15 minutes. My doctor said that I should take sips and as I feel appropriate I can drink. I usually am able to drink a full pint of water in 45 minutes. Granted I don't drink for a while after, but I am able to do it with no negative feelings at all. I started full fluids today too. good luck!

    Me Not So Horny......

I appreciate the input from a male perspective. Esp on the ladies room walls. you made all valid points regarding the birth control. I am on the Nuvaring and I have the same problems as everyone else on here. I am going to stay on it now that I am post op and see if anything changes, but if not, I am getting off of it. It sucks not wanting to be with your partner for no good reason. thanks for the input.

    Any Sleevers With Pcos?

Look on livingsocial and groupon for laser hair removal treatments if it doesn't go away. But I can tell you that my dr said the weight will affect my hormonal variations and it may slow the growth, but it won't take it away. Note: if you choose laser hair removal, let it grow in a bit to reduce the number or visits you have to go for. Usually three should take it away for at least a couple of years I am told by a friend who has a lot of facial hair because of her ethnicity. I have yet to try it but she is a pro and I have never seen a hair on her! So I'd take the advice. good luck!

    Dating With My Sleeve ;)

I told most people I know that I had my gallbladder out (which was only half of the truth) and that I had to be on a special diet for a while to help my body readjust to life beyond the gallbladder. So that covers people asking too many questions about my surgery and the eating and drinking thing. Also, most people won't pressure you into drinking on a first date. Most guys dont actually care and trust me, even before surgery, I had a lot of first and second dates. I met my boyfriend of a year and a half on a dating website called okcupid. It is one of few free sites that I found has a low concentration of psychos in the ct, ny, ri area. Good luck! The best time to tell someone about surgery is when you feel comfortable.
  9. Be careful - tomatoes are acidic and can cause stitches to deteriorate. Ask your Dr before drinking... Also, try to avoid dairy if you still have gas pains. It makes it worse.
  10. I had surgery on Monday. Let me tell you, I was so nervous by the time they got me in the OR that I was ready to run away! But I didn't. In fact, they gave me a little medicine for the anxiety and I felt a little more relaxed. I had my gallbladder out at the same time. It was weird. I was on the operating table and then suddenly I was done in a blink. I was really sore the first few days, but after the pain dissipated, all that was left was the gas pain. I am hoping I have that under control now, too, though. The bottom line is, don't worry too much! It is one week of not that intense pain (esp with painkillers which I couldn't take because I am allergic) and you are on track to have a brand new life! Keep your head up! Autumn Started at 274 (before surg - liq diet for 2 weeks) Date of Surg: 258 8/5: 251
