  1. Liver reduction diet was the WORST. I had to call my grandparents to pray with me every single day. It gets better!! I am six months out now and LOVING IT. Trust me, it's worth it! Despite how hard it is, you've got this! Failure is NOT an option!
  2. My doctor cleared me to drink alcohol but not soda, due to the carbonation. Smirnoff is lightly carbonated. Does that mean I shouldn't be having it? I had a few sips and then had the realization. I can literally hear my tummy making sounds because of it. Anyone know if I can have it? Similar experiences? Any knowledge?
  3. Thank you so much!! You've made me feel muh better about all of this.
  4. Ladies, I am about one month post op and I have have been stalled for about 10 days - ever since I've been on my period. Do you stall like this every month?? It's killing me. I usually have my period 1-3 weeks long. I would HATE stalling for that long every-every other month.
  5. Stalls suck. I'm just glad to know its not only me! I think walking more will help me beat the stall.
  6. I will be one month post op this week. I have lost 43 pounds, including my 10 day pre op diet. I have been on a stall for about ten days ( I'm guessing it has something to do with my period - I've had that the past ten days, too.) I am frustrated, any ideas on what I can do? I'm DYING to work out because I know it will help.. But my doc won't clear me for another 2.5 weeks for physical activity.
  7. Add the syrup & cocoa powder to Greek yogurt!
  8. Stacey, I am one of his patients!! How cool! My mind is blown - I would love mashed potatoes and saltines right about now! I am torn. I'm dying to experiment with foods... But I'm paranoid that something will happen & I know that it's not worth the risk. But like I said, my mind is blown now! I think I'm going to atleast try baby food for something with more taste than chicken broth. Lol. How are you progressing physically? Any cool weightloss to report?
  9. Thanks you all! The first few days I've been having canned soups. Today I made a huge pot of soup (broth for me, soups for my sickly household). Now that I have something I actually enjoy the taste of, I think I will be much happier. Any soup recipes I can steal?
  10. Sounds like its pretty universal then... 2 weeks for liquids, one week purée, one week soft foods? I'm hating this liquid diet! I really want to try baby foods or something.
  11. I had surgery 6 days ago & I'm wondering when you guys moved on from liquids to puréed foods. Any thoughts?
  12. Twelve hours until surgery! feeling anxious... Like I'm forgetting something. :/
  13. It is 12:09am... Which means... SURGERY TOMORROW! It has been one hell of a week. Started the liver reduction diet, got my period -.- then my best friend and biggest cheerleader passed away <\3 and now, CHANGE. Good things are on the horizon. Thank God. As terrible as this week has been, I know that there is much joy to come (even if it doesn't show up right away). Friends, let's move forward together! I could sure use people who "get it."
  14. Friends - I have had a protein shake break through! My doctor had created his own line of protein powers (among other things) and I was too cheap to buy them before. I have been so miserable on my liquid diet, i decided to go for it. Best thing I've done! Tons of great flavors... The honestly don't taste healthy, haha. They are low carb and PACKED with vitamins! Check them out... http://www.bariatricfusion.com/
  15. Everyone loses weight differently. Some people lose pounds, some people lose inches. Check your measurements, I am sure there is some kind of change! I have a friend who lost two pounds but 3.5 inches off her waist alone. And if all else fails, drink liquids only for a few days & change up your workout routine. I hope this helps!
  16. Yayy!! Congratulations!! You look GORGEOUS - you should be proud.
  17. Is this liquid diet business killing anyone else? Of course the day I started, I got my period. Like, really?! It's only day 3 and I'm already overwhelmed. =\
  18. They're going to do an EKG, some sort of X-ray (I forgot what it actually is.. But it's of your chest), take your weight and blood pressure, blood and urine samples. It's a cake walk. The longest part is the paperwork. They have a billion questions for you. Just don't forget a list of your prescriptions and the doses in which you take!
  19. February 13th surgery date! Can it really be only a few weeks away?!
  20. I have to re-do two things, my pre screening at sisters and get cleared by my primary. Otherwise, it's all good. I am taking a little refresher nutrition class though
  21. I had just received a promotion at work & my January surgery date at the same time. I was given two options, lose my job or postpone.
  22. Hey guys! I had to reschedule my January 2nd surgery. but I got my new date today! February 13th! How is everyone doing?!
  23. @TheGamer Thank you so much for sharing! Your weight loss is fantastic! I truly needed to hear all that you had to say. I am about 5'10 and had the same starting weight. I think I just needed to know that it's worth it. I am pretty happy being fat. I hate change. I am infact terrible at it. But I know this is necessary. What do your meals look like 6 weeks out?
  24. Thanks! I will absolutely keep in touch. & I live in the city. Did you take the set of classes that just ended with AnnMarie L @ Dr. Caruana's office?
  25. Well, it takes a week or two for your insurance to approve once they have sent in your fulfilled requirements. Then the office will call you to schedule your procedure. They could have squeezed me in within a week and a half... I opted to go in January. They're scheduling 3-4 weeks out at this point (as far as I know). It was longer in my case due to the holidays. Doctors deserve vacation, too.
